in pure attractiveness, probably not, but in raising my interest to pursue a relationship with her, yes, it will make me want to pursue a relationship more. That being said, success of the relationship will still depend on compatibility (both sexual and personality wise).

Money is the best cheat code in the world. If you can be and keep a relationship with someone who makes good money is going to make your life so much easier (and this applies to both genders).

In terms of raw intelligence, my wife is smarter than me, but to the outside world I appear smarter because I am 50% more confident than her in my own skills. Perceived intelligence is different from raw intelligence, a fact that some people seem to forget.

However those two factors don't count to RMV as much as intelligence or personality. I'd pick the brilliant girl who could get a PhD in physics but didn't for some reason over the slower girl with a PhD in early childhood education, social work, or cultural studies. I'd also pick a sweet cashier over a bitch CEO.

Education and career don't matter, so much as how smart she is. I want someone I can talk to, about interesting things, and deep dive into fun and interesting concepts. Being well educated is probably going to make that more likely.

But not always. There are people who move boxes around stores that can talk for hours about complex topics. There are people that excel in prestigious academic subjects, that show absolutely none of that intelligence outside of class.

I look at it like this. A good relationship is based on three things. Love/emotional intimacy, sex, and friendship.

Female status like this helps in the friendship area. Like, “my girl is a badass and she’s cool because xyz.” Having a career like this is like being a metal head or having an interest in skydiving. It’s a cool attribute.

It’s doesn’t matter sexually. Men aren’t aroused by female status. So, yeah it does matter, but not sexually.

The problem arises when a woman earns six figures and expects her potential man to do the same. We care about looks and personality. Having a career like this isn’t going to help, especially if there’s an attitude with it. I’ll take the 25 year old cashier any day, especially if she’s hotter and easier to get along with.

Men who want a wife who would instill hard work, ambition, and education as values in their children will view it positively. Men largely care about looks and personality. We weren't conditioned to value female status, since for most of human history women rarely had any (beyond ties to powerful relatives).

For me personally, educational background may boost her attractiveness, but only if it's in a field I myself am interested in. Career success doesn't boost her attractiveness at all. If anything, it may reduce her attractiveness. Looking down on people who don't have college degrees or who are poor is an enormous turn off.

Intelligence, passion, & not taking shit from others/standing up for herself/standing firm in her beliefs generally boost her attractiveness, depending on the circumstances.

I'm often attracted to average looking women, but if I don't find a woman attractive in the first place then no amount of educational or career success will make her attractive in my eyes.

If I already find a woman physically attractive, I'll perceive her to be more physically attractive when I learn that she has certain traits or interests. For example, I'll see a 7/10 as a 10/10 if I know that she's artsy/bookish/nerdy, loves kids, & shares my most strongly held values. All that being said, I've never been good at rating people's looks on a scale.

I think it's the confidence, there's a girl I follow on ig, she isn't my type, but she's a doctor, and the confidence and being a doctor boosted her out of the maybe into attractive enough.

Yes a whole ass doctor, which is one of the best careers was enough only for a marginal boost.

So yes it does boost but not by much. And it can be a negative if the work is unattractive (includes men) or if it takes precedence over the relationship.

However, men that need a partner that works to pay the bills might be more incentivized by this.

A cashier versus someone in an office does increase her attractiveness to me. It shows she's thought about her future. But it's up till a certain point, for me there's no difference whether she's a doctor earning 1 million or a teacher making 50k.

What I look for is that she considered her future and isn't working a dead end job. How prestigious that job that is and how high the salary is, I don't care. Just have some kind of career planned.

The reason I say this is because becoming a CEO or attaining certain heights usually entails taking on certain masculine traits/characteristics, obviously depending the field this may be stronger or weaker point.

The other facet is from my pov, super successful probably means zero time…so I’d get bread crumbs of time, and/or just make it very difficult meshing our 2 busy schedules together = pain in the ass, not to mention thinking ahead to family time and kids…

I've dated a few women with PhDs. It makes absolutely no difference to how sexually attracted I am to them. It also does not actually say much about their general intelligence or their ability to hold a conversation.

Being the CEO of a small startup implies very little time and very little money, lots of stress and potentially lots of calming her down and helping her relax.

That can be good if her way of relieving stress if fucking me; but bad if she needs to be relaxed and in the mood before having sex.

If you date in Washington DC, your education and career is the first thing people care about. They take it one step further, and scrutinize what type of college you went to (public universities are a big no no) and also judge your career based on the agency (oddly, they often value poorer paying nonprofits better) I am so glad I decided to not live there permanently. DC is a Judgment City. It will depend on the man elsewhere.

Men don't really have access to a woman's funds. So this is largely irrelevant. Like, I've gotten really good gifts for birthdays or to celebrate an achievement, but in the span of 2 good dates her cost was trumped on my end. I like it if we can reasonably split food, and ditto for vacation costs (my ex was able to do this, but she also only paid like 1/12th our cost of living).

It matters a bit. I would have to search up the study since I don’t have it with me, but as I remember the educational background of the mothers is a huge factor in the development of the kid. If the dad has or does not have a degree, it doesn’t change anything. But if a mom has a degree, it significantly increases the likeliness the kids will go to college.

So it matters a bit. Not enough to leave them, it doesn’t speak to personally traits or anything that makes me more attractive to her. Just says that’s better for my kids.

I don't particularly care if she is smart and successful because that's not the top priority but would have to meet this woman/talk to her to say for sure and I'm not sure any woman with such high qualifications would be into me anyways even if her looks are extremely mediocre at best

I've seen a lot of friends parents and relatives go the same way: the wife falls out of love, but stays for the kids and money. I'm trying to find a relationship that won't end up that way, but In that situation, I'd rather not have my life destroyed. I'd rather her make less than me (26M).

I preferred women without a college education. Less likely to be liberal. I have met many brilliant women who didn't go to higher education, and some still turn out liberal and others more conservative.

To your specific point when I find out she is a CEO, it depends on how many hours she works for a week. If it's more than 40, she's now a 0. Less than 40, she's still a 5.

Yes, those would be positives because they show intelligence and initiative. Some fields would be a lot more impressive than others though; being 250k in debt from student loans for a worthless PhD, and having a company thats based on rent-seeking, is highly unattractive.

Only if she’s open to children. If the possibility is there to settle down and start a family i would consider it to be a huge plus, especially if we have daughters.

YES ... I went on a first date with a girl who told me she was going to be a supreme court justice. Like was executing on her plan and literally about to start law school soon. She was brilliant and absolutely determined.

She was already hot but that 🤤 that's a big goal. That's not "oh, I'm studying to be a phlebotomist" (sorry phlebotomists)

I consider myself an ambitious person, so I find someone who is cool with just doing ok not as attractive. Wanting to do epic shit with your life is hot to me

Not because I wanted her hypothetical future SCJ money. It's not necessarily about career even I think. It's just them being passionate enough about something to commit to doing something big you know

Short answer? Yes.

Slightly longer answer? Yes, but almost nothing.

It is obvious that between 2 exactly equal women where one has a career and education while the other doesnt... the one with the career and education is preferable.

But unless it is something extreme like comparing someone who is illiterate and unemployed, vs a successful CEO from harvard. It is not enough to go more than 1-2 points on a 1-10 scale.

Yes. if we consider she starts as a 5.0, now she is a 5.3-5.5 I guess.

Most men dont gain much for a more educated or career focused woman... her money and education will exclusively only help her... and well and none else, if anything it will only make her expect more from men... so it is overall not too much of a positive...

Also, I can easily afford to have a Stay at Home Mother if I wished to, so to me, a highly educated and career focused woman is even more useless than most personally... if anything it can even be a negative, depending on how much her job makes her bad at having a relationship.

I can see poorer men valuing education and career more tho.
