I think both men and women can be extremely shallow and superficial and may overlook a person's vile deeds if they find them hot.

It happens with women and physically attractive serial killers like Dahmer and Bundy; and it also happens with men and physically attractive female pedos (particularly teachers). Think of all the lecherous idiots saying "OMG I WISH THAT WAS ME!/THAT BOY IS LUCKY!" and yada yada.

Just as there are bad men, there are women who possess any number of negative traits. Criminals tend to attract women who are either criminals themselves, or who have severe mental health issues or substance abuse problems.

Women with degrees and successful careers who live in the suburbs are not lining up en masse to date criminals. So if you’re thinking of crossing over to the dark side in order to date women, just know that you’ll attract a much lower class of women who have loads of problems.

Lonely men are a in a fragile state and when they ask for advice from the mainstream, including feminists, they are told they are toxic human beings. They are told that they are sexist, entitled, bigoted and women can sense that.

That message is incredibly dangerous and incredibly toxic in itself. It is telling men that they are effectively sub-human if women don't find them attractive. Not exactly going to help anyone's mental health.

It is also not true; you can use feminist talking points to prove it is not true. The same feminists who are telling lonely men they are alone because they are toxic. Are also campaigning on domestic violence, telling us about 100's of thousands of women beaten by their partners.

How do feminists square that with their advice to lonely men? Are they seriously saying that lonely men are more toxic than men who hit women? That men who sometimes even kill women are more feminist than the men women reject?

The truth is, women's preferences when it comes to men have little to do with how moral and decent a guy is. Many women are attracted to vile, unpleasant and sexist men.

To be honest I am not sure why it is controversial to point out something that even feminists admit it true.

Personality > Looks. Or at least personality can make you hotter.

Psychopaths seem very good at selling themselves, at least in limited doses in the short term. Their lack of empathy means lying and presenting themselves inaccurately is easy and convincing.

These people don't go into dates or record these thing putting across the stereotypical Hollywood psychopathic behaviour.

Conversely they don't date for long and are quite incapable at keeping people around - not that they care all that much.

I just wanted to jump in with an observation that is far less toxic than “women love violent men because they are violent”- not what OP necessarily meant but what many in the comments are saying.

Let’s take what we do know- testosterone production in the womb is predictive of criminality (Anderson 2019)

Keep in mind that human culture and intellectual life is much faster at developing than our inherent biological features- meaning these men would be good at procuring resources in our primitive environment but now aren’t in our pro social modern lives. In fact the development of human civilization can be seen as a culling of violent males over time leading to a sort of self domestication.

Women can tell who the more competitive mate is by facial features. Testosterone levels also select for aggression and competitive behavior.

“Previous studies have shown that male faces with extreme features associated with testosterone are perceived as dominant and masculine. Women have been reported to prefer more masculinized male faces as they may consider testosterone markers to be an ‘honest’ indication of good health, and such considerations may underlie their aesthetic preferences.”(Neave 2003)

However there is a trade off where overly masculinized faces are perceived as intimidating and less attractive so it’s not a neat black and white. It’s more of a sweet spot.

My overall point is that women are reacting on unconscious cues that have a biological substrate rather than an actual desire to find violent or criminal mates. We all have a variety of maladaptive (in the current environment) evolutionary baggage. This is why ‘revealed preferences’ are terrible. People want all the sugar, they jockey for social position and step on one another, they start fights over dumb shit.

The answer to this isn’t to malign women (men have a similar set of maladaptive drives in mate selection) but to think of how culture and human intervention can overcome these issues.

Show research that women are more attracted to criminals than to non-criminals. Women are more attracted to men that show traits that indicate their partner has high levels of testosterone, so there will likely be a soft correlation. However, it's not the criminal behavior that they are selecting for.

Yeah, I also find the serial killer obsession weird, but men do the same thing. Dexter had about an equal split between men and women as well. I also find women's obsession with vampire romances really weird; the dude literally wants to eat the woman.

On the flip side of the argument, yes, being a good person does help you get women. When I was young, dumb and inexperienced, I thought there was something I was missing as I couldn't get any play. I was a virgin til I was 21. Well, when I was 21, I decided to just put in the effort to learn to date and approached it in an analytical manner as I would do anything else. I went on hundreds of dates that year, and finally lost my virginity. Over the next couple years, I got very good at getting women into bed, to the point that I could, and occasionally did, sleep with multiple women in the same day.

What I learned is that there's no trick. No secret. You don't need to play games. You don't need to deceive them or trick them into sleeping with you. Women want sex, love, passion, romance, fun, etc., as much as we do. They just don't want to deal with the bullshit consequences of it.

So, just casually ask a girl out. Take her out and engage with her as a person. Treat her like you would a friend. If she feels safe and accepted with you, she will most likely fuck you. Make her feel like you just want her for sex, or that you aren't interested in her as a person, she likely won't fuck you.

That's pretty much all there is to it. They want sex, so don't give them a reason to say no.

I disagree, because you have many crimes women are repulsed by. Sure some women salivate over serial killers, but we haven't seen them salivate over pedophiles, johns (men caught paying for sex), registered sex offenders , etc.

The correct interpretation is that, women are attracted to indicators of power in men, which differ by location and culture, but normally consist of leadership, physical strength, courage, fearlessness, etc. The question of being a good man is in a higher layer of the brain.
