I've done something similar to this. I believe last time I posted on /r/rateme I averaged about a 7.5, but it's been awhile. I'm 21 as well.

What happened to me was that my ex-fiancé cheated on me and broke up with me last year, before I was leaving because of the Army. This really fucked with my head, and I turned to this community to stop getting oneitis and to overcome AA and do the best I can. I turned to okcupid and POF to try to get comfortable talking to girls I thought were way out of my league.

I sent girls the DUMBEST pick up lines, and I started using one I actually found on here - "I have an important question for you" then when they respond you say "Would you rather be irrisistbly attracted to (fruit) or have an orgasm everytime you hear the word (not common word)?".

I thought that was the stupidest question in the world, and I tested it by first messaging girls with a serious opener - something that I'd say to them if I saw them at the bar. I'd never get a response, but they would look at my profile. I would wait about a month and message them with that and almost EVERY SINGLE TIME I'd start a conversation with them. Since I started using that line (I came back from the Army in April/May and started using that line around August of 2013) I f-closed a girl almost every single week. Every week I'd message 50-70 new girls with that line, and I would forget about every single one unless they messaged me back. I get 5-10 new numbers a week, rarely does it turn into anything, but even out of that percent that gave me their number I was hooking up with one almost every week since then.

OKCupid is definitely a valid way to get girls, it's insane that it works, the things that work are insane, but they work...

This thread was super interesting to read, but I agree the most with by doing what I've done, I don't have any AA now. I can walk up to any girl and just talk to them like a normal person - the times I got shot down on OKC with that line I just ended up laughing really hard because I completely agreed with the girl that it was stupid...but you can't argue with facts, and the fact was I'd get new girls, new numbers, and new fuck buddies every single week because of it.

EDIT: If anyone ever wanted to see my screencaps of these conversations (with profiles whited out obviously) I'd be completely willing to do that to help people. I want to point out that I cannot do this in my city. With 1,000,000 (probably less) in our metropolitan area, we're a small city.

I have seen girls from OKC in the wild, and even approached a few. They also recognized me. I also work at a big company where I'm well known there by all. There are people here who have OKC profiles.

My point: I would eventually make the mistake of messaging a coworker, or simply be out with coworkers when I'm called out. Also, I've met a number of women in my social circles and we've recognized each other as being on OKC.

I would likely be fired if word got out that I was employing this strategy.

But NYC, LA, SF, Chicago, Miami, Philly, P'Burg, etc... this is a magnificent strategy.

The takehome is simple - all of pickup is a numbers game. Mark Manson did a nonscientific breakdown of it, and while the numbers are mostly just estimates from an expert, they're probably not far off the mark.

I don't have my copy of Models with me, but IIRC, the numbers that Mark outlines in terms of attraction (he drills it down by percentage) jive very closely with OP's numbers.

So if you're not getting laid, the solution is simple - talk to more women.

You will statistically have a greater chance of getting laid (not less - rejection won't hurt you)
You will grow, learn and figure out what to say while also becoming more comfortable with approaching.

This is fake. Main reason : On OKC ( or other dating sites ) if you spam message over 20-30 girls in a row you start to get filtered. Your messages won't go through. The system will detect you're a spammer and either delete you or just not send your messages. The OP states he messaged 250 girls in a single night.

Now besides that, assuming OKC did in fact let you message as many people as possible in a single sitting with a copy paste opener.... it's still bullshit for several reasons. I've doing online dating about 10 years. From Jan 2013 - Jan 2014 I messaged around 600 girls. Out of that I got 14 dates and 3 ( or 4 can't remember ) lays. But, truthfully speaking if your single post is going to force 100s of guys out there to get out of their chairs and actually learn how to talk to human beings (not just women, the main issue is social skills in general) then I think it's a great thing. Downvote me if you want, I mean I think the internet is an amazing invention but some people just rely on it that bit too much to teach them the things that really you can only learn yourself by going out there, having fun and talking to people. These are things which shouldn't have to be taught, again, I'm not saying it is easy nor am I saying that I get laid loads but talking to people should be natural, and so should flirting with women.

I saw a similar thing on a forum a couple of years ago. This guy selected a group of girls in his phone book and sent each of them this question by sms. None of them were close friends to him. It might been a friend of a friend, the ex girlfriend of a friend, someone he met but didn't close with and so on.

The group were smaller of course, but if you look at the percent rate I'd say he got to let willy out (or in) about as often as our guy here.

So, I tried this experiment myself a couple weeks ago. Somehow I was banned within one day. Not sure how they caught me so quickly, or why they actually considered it worth banning me. On the other hand, I did message a huge number of women with that line, in a very short time period.

Just for fun I used a proxy server to make several more accounts and repeat the process, but those accounts were banned even quicker. I also was banned on POF for the same thing. But, after 4 years on OKCupid, I can't say I really care that much. It had really outlived its value for me. And some of the replies I got were hilarious.

I have a serious question.

I have also hit the 100 mark a few years back, and i have to say my biggest problem has been quality control. Id say only a handful of the girls i've been with are what i would consider 9/10 or above. then 15% 8's and 60% 7's. I would only sleep with a 6/10 or below if i was really wasted and they "got lucky".

these days I go for higher quality but they are alot harder to get based on the first interactions in my opinion.
