The real problem is defining casual sex. If men expect sex by the third or fourth date, and a woman needs a couple of months to decide if someone is LTR appropriate, there is a disconnect. Based off of a lot of different things I've read, different subreddits, and people I've talked to, I think the number is too high when the person is young (not just in age, but in mindset, ability to think long-term, responsibility, etc.). What is "high" and what is "young"? is what's nearly impossible to quantify.

I can only speak from my perspective, but I don’t see 7 -10 as anywhere close to “too many” partners. I actually think that’s extremely low. However, 7-10 people from LTR is different from 7-10 ONS. One gives the impression that they are selective with who they choose to be intimate with while the other gives the impression that they will let someone knock them off if they say the right things to them that night, had enough to drink, etc.

I wouldn’t want a woman who was sleeping around indiscriminately. I don't actually use that term (cc), but I would feel somewhat uncomfortable with someone about my age (28) having more than like 15 partners, and even that's kind of pushing it in my opinion. That's just under 2 per year, which still kind of seems like a lot. I'm not really a casual sex guy. All 6 of my partners have been girlfriends or friends with benefits with 2 relationships lasting 3 and 5 years (and counting) respectively. I don't know that I would have a lot of chemistry with someone who is really into sleeping around or chaining relationships back to back. I think it is healthy to take alone time where you develop yourself between relationships.
