If you don’t look the part of a bad boy but you try to act this way it will absolutely backfire. I’m not the expert in casual sex at all, that was not my thing. But some peoples innate facial features and ingrained things like how you move and carry yourself will likely never equate with “bad boy.” I don’t think that’s a bad thing but many women can tell when a man is trying too hard.

First, those women that want a bad boy is often times due to them having issues.

Second, if you aren't a bad boy, you won't be able to become one, you would be incongruent, and acting. Eventually it will become exhausting or your true colors would show and she'd be super turned off and jump ship.

Most of the things you mentioned aren't even bad boy things, just HVM things. A nice/sweet Chad would be pumping and dumping just as much as an asshole bad boy Chad. I would recommend to guys finding a rational, sane girl with low N-count so they don't have to jump through all these hoops.

As a former bad boy in my 20s I can tell you this. You need to have a nice car, clothes, and pad. Yes, get jacked in the gym. But, the fighter's physique is good, too. So, join a MMA or boxing gym.

You need social capital so you also need similar friends. You can't just be a loner and do this. You need kind of a wild social circle of similar people who are out to party and get laid.

Sell drugs or at least know where to score them. Lots of connections are made when "you're in the game."

Depending on your age you need to find a cool* social scene (concerts/shows, raves* especially, festivals, etc.)

You have to be good looking facial-wise. No amount of muscle or clothing will make you hot if you're not.

Attitude is key.this doesn't mean dark* triad. It just means that you need to convey to women that you can take them or leave them. The best way to develop this attitude is by having plenty of other options. If you only have one chick on the line it's hard to have a "take it or leave it" mentality.

Again, have a nice car suitable for where you live. In cities this means a newer muscle car or maybe a sports sedan like a M3.

Clothes... not some shit from the mall. You need unique things found in specialty shops. This costs money. Expect to pay a few hundred bucks for a shirt. Same with pants, belt, shoes,etc.

Keeping up this image isn't cheap. And,the point is you shouldn't be looking at is as an image. It's just who you are. That's how you develop the persona. I could be with a group of friends one night wearing a $300 shirt and the next night, in a different setting, wearing a custom $30 T Shirt.

Either way, it doesn't sound like you're this kind of guy so making a transition into it won't be easy. I slowly built up my style in my late teens/early 20s. Now, that* I'm older, I still have the idgaf attitude. It's just who I am. But, it started in my teens. So, if you're mid-20s* and a STEM nerd I don't think you can pull it off.

If you don’t have any dog in you, wondering into an mma gym isn’t end well for you. A haircut and some tattoos do not a bad boy make. You’ll look like a gay porn star. My advice is to maximize what you really are. If you are a stem nerd, then be the best version of a stem nerd you can be. Work out, decent clothes, good style, etc but be who you are and land then hottest nerdy kinky chick you can find. They certainly exist. That said, my Reddit downfall is that I will always give an honest answer from my own real world experience. Full disclosure this was in a time before apps so this is what worked in bar/club/real life dating situations.

First, you can’t fake being a “bout that street life” type bad boy. You would actually have to get out there and put in that type of work. Usually those dudes were like that since HS and have either been in or gotten really close to doing time. If you aren’t really that, you will be identified as a poser which is even worse. Full disclosure I was not that dude. Never have been involved and never will be involved in street business. So if you aren’t criminal-level bad..you have to look for ways you can develop and show an edge.

I found that my edge was leaning into arrogance and charm and also learning to fight. I started out with fake confidence (arrogance) and went over the top with it. I added some charm but it was mostly arrogance at first. It definitely got me more attention from ladies than how I was operating previously. Eventually that arrogance faded away to real confidence and women could feel that. I was getting even better results than arrogant me but I had to start with arrogance to get there.

I happened to walk into a Muay Thai gym where so many early UFC guys trained. In there it was all humility no arrogance as I was a beginner. But my logic was that just because I wasn’t a street guy, I didn’t have to walk around being afraid of anyone out there. After a good while of training I felt a physical confidence to where I never had to back down from anyone out of fear. One of my most memorable casual hook ups was where this street ish dude really tried to punk me at a bar but I knew I wasn’t in the wrong. I also knew he wasn’t really tough he was just faking. After calling his bluff and watching his buddies pull him away. I went back to the bar and this super cute girl was gushing talking about it was amazing and arousing watching me stand up to that bully.

So find your edge and lean into it for a while. After a while you will find your balance. Oh one last tip… always open the door for ladies as it will help you. The trick is you have to open the door with no expectations and for everyone. I promise you a girl in your range sees you open that door for an old lady and she loves it.

Personally, I believe that there's the two archetypes - Bad Boy and Nice Guy - both encompassing positive traits that are just different. I'll proudly admit that I relate more with the "nice guy" than the "bad boy", so I don't try to be the other. I also believe that inherently, "bad boy" is more attractive to women than "nice guy". I'm a stem nerd myself, no tats, haven't fought anyone in my adult life, athletic but hate the gym, had a 15$ haircut, no skin care routine other than off shelf cleaner, regular ass clothing (there are no nerds wearing sweater vests...and graphic tees are actually back in maybe ironically. I am/was very social, used to bar club weekly.

I did just fine with ladies, hook ups here n there, LTR, etc. if this is all you are looking for, an attitude adjustment, some gym time, wash yourself, and possible change of expectations.

With that said, I never dated a bartender, hair dresser, stripper, budtender, hostess, a baddie, hood rat, etc. If that's the type of women you wanna get with, then I 100% disagree with the ppl here, you do need to change yourself and drastically be a different person. Women are very good at reading men - a newly tattooed, semi buffed guy will likely wilt if she insults him to his face and they tend to walk at the first flinch. Men who are conditioned or are genetically a certain way can’t just pretend to have enormous mental strength.

I love to drink at lounges, but I am introverted.
I am my own man and stopped caring what other people think a long time ago. I do what is good for me, while trying not to be too much of an asshole.
I do dress decently, wear clothes that fit.

You are who you are and you do what you do. Don't change that in order to appeal to women, if anything, do it for yourself. Otherwise you're like those people who have a new hobby every two months.

Here's the thing: if you are putting on an act the woman knows you are putting on an act no matter how hard you try. Aside from the physical improvements, the reason “bad boys” get laid is because they are not “nice guys.” Cue the “No shit, asshole” comments.

Nice guys always act nice while secretly expecting something in return (appreciation, affection, etc.) they suffer in silence because they feel they SHOULD be acknowledged and appreciated. They expect women to meet their unspoken expectations.

“Bad boys” make themselves their first thought all the time. Whatever situation it is, they start by asking “what’s in it for me?” If it doesn’t benefit them, they aren’t doing it. They aren’t going to be nice to you or deal with your shit if there’s no benefit.

In my opinion, I would just suggest not going to bars and drinking to attract a woman (why self harm and lower the value of the people youll attract?). If the gym is truly your place and you enjoy working out, focus on quiet confidence. I think the key point difference between "nice" guy and "bad" boy is nice guy tend to be desperate.

groom yourself, go out there socialize and have fun.

if you target girls in the bar then they have certain preferences in men which mostly belong to "bad" boys.

Personally I think Crazy Love Stupid is kind of accurate.

From personal experience also, dressing well and having car helps. And not to forget going to barber regularly.

Bad boy is about vibe,.not just some physical appearance. The biggest bad boy I know is a suited up project manager in telecom. But he is the genuine asshole bad boy that knows how to exactly treat a woman as a princess AND giving her the cold shoulder. Also: don't do this shit. Obviously getting in good shape and dressing well are going to help any man. But the real hurdle is your personality. I know plenty of cool STEM guys with the right clothes, tattoos and social habits. Some of them do well with women, some do not. It's a matter of charisma, and you cant fake that by superficially changing lanes.
