I think anxiety, being asocial, mental turmoil and (sometimes hidden) trauma is a bigger reason than looks for most men struggling to form relationships with women. From what I've observed almost all of them have some adverse childhood experiences. Either an inability to bond with their mother or an absent father. This is true for women as well. A friend of a friend of mine has never been intimate with a man and she's in her thirties. (She has huge trust issues when it comes to men). Dating is a number's game and a social with low anxiety levels will usually find someone pretty fast.

There's nothing about that. Instead there's a ton of details about a certain lifestyle.

Spent hours just looking at him and marveling at the miraculous human being that I created. For 2 years it was a magical blissful time and I fully adopted the role of being an amazing mother- he was my biggest source of pride. People would tell me all the time how great of a mother I was and they were right- my son was an amazing eater, never had tantrums, perfect manners, I could take him anywhere and he would sit calmly in restaurants. Heads would turn every where we went because he was just so striking as a child- bright blonde hair and blue eyes. So cute and would wave and say hi to everyone we passed.

She can describe in detail the ways she loves, or at least used to love, her son. All his qualities and quirks.

The only detail I can find in your post history is that before everything fell apart he earned 3000 USD a week. He has a wife and kids. A mother and father. A childhood. Hopes, dreams, emotions. He has his own demons I'm sure. He has his talents. He has a hometown. He has his certain mannerisms and quirks. He has views on life and opinions.

But from this perspective I only see 3000 USD a week and vacations every month. But she calls it love. It breaks my heart. There's something so dehumanizing about a post like this.

We lived in a quaint little town and owned our home, my fiancé and I were in love. We had a cute little puppy that would play for hours with our son. My fiancé had a great job and our mortgage was cheap- we went on vacations every month, ate the best organic food, wore the nicest clothes. I was afforded the luxury of being a SAHM. It was my dream life, the life I had always wanted since I was a little girl, and here I was actively living it.

But then life got tough. I don’t want to type out my entire story over the past 8 months but long story short- we lost our home and 90% of our possessions, my son got sick, we had to rehome our dog, I gave birth to our second and developed crippling PPA and PPD. I have PTSD from it all. My son started acting out, tantrums daily and refusing to sleep.

The fuck she skips over the most important part. How do you go from both a great job and a cheap mortgage to living with your parents in the span of under a year?

I like the hypocrisy of some people when it comes to age gap relationships and promiscuous women.

Every time a topic pops up about promiscous women and why they are not relationship material, the fact that they are more likely to divorce and low N count women get brought up.

But, marriage statistics never get brought up in age gap relationships. Do you feel people exaggerate the number of options women have ? Remember, to women what matters is a good option for a long-term relationship. Hook ups, etc aren't an accomplishment for them. Theoretically yes, women have many options. But not many good ones. For the most part, they want a guy who isn't dumb, around her age, has some social skills. I think that reduces her potential dating pool tremendously. And I believe that women espcially 29 and above don't have it easy to find a good partner or replace their current one.

This post from a stay at home mom boggles my mind.

A few days ago I was picking up dog sh!t from the back yard when my husband conveniently came out to help me. He does this all the time. He will wait until I am in the middle of doing chores, then wants to come out like captain-save-a-ho£ to help….. I use the word help very loosely because he only comes out to tell me that he was about to do it and I never let him do anything. He does this with EVERYTHING. I had just about enough and I looked him dead in the face and said “What are you going to do when I get a job? What contribution will you be making then? All I truly need you for is money.”

First of all do you not walk your dog? When my grammy's back yard ended up with a bunch of dog poop it's cause she'd gotten to old to walk thing.

Second of all if your husband comes to help you with a task why is your instinct to blow up at him rather than say thank you.

Third of all are you trying to say he shouldn't have gotten mad when you said that???

I would love to leave today if I could, but I’m not about to go out into the world and be a single mom. I see the stigma, I see the struggle women face. Giving that I am not educated, I’d be working bottom of the barrel jobs taking worse sh!t from strangers than I do here at home. I see how much women get blamed for all of society’s failures. I don’t have family, not many friends either, so I stay. I’ve got a good 10 years because my little one of ready for college and I’m going to spend it getting a healthy degree. Something that can give me a chance. In the meantime I will keep playing maid.

My advice to any young women reading this is to not fob off your career opportunities for marriage and kids. Don’t allow yourself to become trapped. Do not take your freedom for granted.

It's not so easy to afford a house with a backyard these days. Also it's tragic for the kids that she'd rather have a career than had kids.

Any advice?

My gf didn’t leave me because I’m unemployed (even her best friend points out that she isn’t that materialistic) or because I’m out of shape (in fact I’m very much in shape). She apparently felt that I did not have serious plans for her and I didn’t say that I loved her. She claimed that there is no 3rd person involved and from my brief investigation it seems she’s not involved with anyone else at the moment. I will continue to self improve but now that advice falls flat when those aren’t the reasons she left me. What advice would you guys have? I am so annoyed that I got finessed by my landlord. I visited a few of my friends and their apartments are cheaper, and bigger. But I found mine on Airbnb so the prices are higher.

For reference, everything included my apartment is $380/month, it’s a 1bedroom. I went over to a friend’s house today that was a 2bd with a balcony for $200/month, and the other one was freaking $180/month with practically the same layout. I can’t wait til I can move into a different apartment
