That's only partly true. Women are more valued on average by average men. Above average to top men are probably in the best position they've ever been in. Previously, a huge chunk of the dating market was married, so these top men wouldn't get nearly as much attention or benefits. Now, with more single women(and more access to these women) top men are having a hell of a time, and everyone else is losing for it. The top 20% of men are probably valuing women the least out of any point in history, which is ironic because it's the 20% most women are chasing. The other 80% are left begging for a chance with women who, historically, would have probably been perfectly fine with a guy in that 80%.

It's also worth saying that the only women that can actually make really great money on things like OF and such are top 1% in looks or making some really messed up stuff that appeals to a certain audience. People talk about the money side of OF, but most top accounts have full staff to run background stuff, which also costs money. OF is also a perfect example of what is wrong with a lot of society. So much hedonism and short term gain that ends up being horrible for you and your mental health in the long term.

The problem with this is that a lot of guys at the top don't value women and guys at the bottom have given up and aren't interested in dating.

I can say "cars are more expensive than they've ever been" but the reality is that fewer and fewer cars are selling and fewer and fewer young people are getting driving licences. Girlfriends/wives/kids are like owning a home; it's gone from the norm to becoming an unreachable luxury that people are just giving up on.

I think one major reason is that now, in western cultures, men and women are both able to choose wether or not they want to be in a relationship. Not only legally, but it has become socially acceptable to choose to be single and self sufficient. It appears that more women than men are happy to make that choise. Thus men end up "competing", not with other men, but with a woman's peace. At least in a heterosexual context.

I have been very happily single in the past, and I very well could have stayed that way. I have wonderful friends and family, several hobbies, I travel a lot, I know how to make and keep a wonderful home for myself etc. The only reason I'm not single anymore is because I met someone that makes me significantly happier. That was a high bar. If he didn't, I wouldn't choose being in a relationship just for the sake of it.

I completely disagree. Women on average have more value than most men, but I think peak men are at the top of the game. They have more value than they've ever had. Men at the top of the dating game are slaying it. Thanks to modern science and fitness culture, there are more attractive women than ever before - while there are so few men who are:

Physically attractive
Financially wealthy
Without personality defects/ red flags

The ratio of attractive women per attractive/ rich guy has totally skewed the game. Peak men are taking advantage of this. This is because men are less worried about a woman's financial contributions or education or intelligence. Any hot girl can compete. On the opposite side, average men are getting more fat and ugly and uneducated and poor and filled with social and mental anxiety. Men that are all-around without flaw are so rare, they can jump from one hot girl to the next.

Couple this with the fact that there are still social stigmas around women who get around too much, while there are less around men who do the same.

Speaking from experience, women are easy to get. I'm a lawyer. All my friends are lawyers and doctors. Most of us are married, and you should see how hot the wives are, generally speaking. The female doctors I know? Less lucky. And I still get hit on, even though I never hide my wedding ring. Often by little blonde law students or women fresh out of law school, probably looking to get a quick leg up by quickly spreading their legs.

If I were single, I make enough money to pay a professional photographer for my dating profile photos, I can pay an editor to revise my dating profile jokes, and I can tell women I'm a lawyer while I drive them home from the expensive restaurant to my house in my six-figure sports car. I have multiple friends that did this or still do this. Just put "lawyer" front and center in their professionally curated dating profile. Multiple dates a week, sex probably with half of those dates.

I think it's primarily a consequence of better gender equality (mostly education and workplace), the dating market just took a few decades to fully catch up with all of the the consequences of it.

With women not needing men to provide for them, men have to compete not just with other men, but also with the the advantages of staying single. And since women are less horny than men, more of them are satisfied staying single, and fewer men clear the bare minimum bar of being worth dating for women, than vice versa.

I personally don't find any of this to be a problem. Or at the very least, far less of a problem than women being financially dependent on men. I think the position of a woman who has to stay in an unhappy marriage because she would be homeless otherwise is way worse than than the position of a man who can't get laid.

I think this is more or less true in most western & first world countries, mainly because improving equality means more freedom and economic power than women ever had before - many can afford to live alone, and plenty are content with their own company (especially when the alternative is a mid husband who adds to the labor demand at home instead of helping with it) so in order to be worthwhile, a man has to IMPROVE upon happy solitude.

No one wants to admit it, but men are romantically needier than women are. Women are socialized to learn how to take care of a family - but that also means being great at managing their own easy one-lady household, and adult women tend to have much more robust social networks than adult men (whose social circles are often managed by the women in their lives, if they have any) and this gets truer and truer the older those adults get. (I think and hope this will change in the future, and men while become better at these skills to match women.)

For now it means that for the first time in modern history, in many western countries men have greater incentive to seek a wife than women do to seek a husband.

This is a good thing though -- certainly better than women being desperate to marry for basic security, unable to leave a bad relationship without risking poverty, don't you think? And at least for me, I'd ALWAYS prefer a partner who is with me by choice because of love over one that settled for me because they just need someone, anyone.

The irony or maybe the result of this is that many modern women are arguably the worst women in history.
They exhibit narcissistic traits, self-centeredness, sexism, huge immaturity, a sense of entitlement, and a lack of modesty. Their behavior is often sexually reckless, irrational, and easily irritated. They seem to dislike men, aren’t particularly fond of children, and live with a 'me-first' mentality. Depending on the era or situation, they may have had to do so discreetly, so there were even fewer opportunities. Now, they just have to be near a smartphone with internet connection. Women get so many more approaches, so it is natural that after a point, they get unrealistic standards. The continuous demand raise them to a pedestal, and they get to choose the best candidate from each round, sort of speak. That aside, you must know that most women never went for the average Joe. We have many studies, social experiments , observations etc that show repeatedly that most women ( more than 70%) tend to go for the top 20% of men. That seems to always have been the case. Add social media to that. At the same time we have the highest numbers of depression for women and loneliness for men.

I'm interpreting "valued" would imply an outer view towards them that defines the value, in which case I'd honestly disagree. Something like chivalry where courtship and "respect for m'lady" were very relevant for a long time, same for tradition. I'd argue more people complain about women now than eever, which then means that obviously those "outer views" of it to be lesser view toward women.

But I also understand that fucking fart jars are definitely indicator of something. But I attribute that to desperate men than women being valued more.
