Recently I saw a old post on Reddit, with comments on the topic that men do not understand woman loneliness and how this is even possible.

Except that's not what's happening at all?

Both the man and woman are starving to death. The man is also dying of thirst. The woman has an abundance of water, but she's still starving. Whenever she asks for food people keep telling her "but you have SO MUCH WATER" which doesn't help her at all. Yet to someone dying of thirst, flippantly ignoring the water as if it's useless just feels like a slap in the face.

Could this be central to single unsuccessful men resentment toward single unsuccessful women?

Even if single men may understand that sex is not everything, but since they lack everything (both relationships and sex), then statements from sexually unsuccessful woman (who have problems with relationships, but may not have problems with sex) feel like a slap in the face and a blow to the sore spot.

Single men see this as a mockery of themselves on behalf of single women, and respond in kind
