Last night whilst talking about life and relationships with my mother, I had mentioned that my husband's ex before me was crazy/flighty/hot and cold and that contributed to their breakup. She then said she thinks the reason my husband fell in love with me was because he saw I was a "stable hardworking girl from a good family that could provide for herself and her loved ones". She said I'm a lot like my father in that regard (which is true).

After three long years and almost the entirety of college, I had a pseudo-hookup last night. Met a cute girl at my school. Turns out she was an alum visiting some of her old professors and teaching a ballroom dance class. Went to the ballroom dance class (I have a friend who does ballroom dancing, so I’d been meaning to go to a class anyways). We danced together. So our old easy going v.p. is out and has been replaced by an extroverted, micro managing "people person". Never had a single meeting under the old v.p. This cocksucker has been in charge for less than a week and has already scheduled three fucking meetings, the first of which was ostensibly to "discuss expectations" but in reality was a platform for him to tell us about his life. The relevant portion could have been sent in an email of no more than two paragraphs.

The other two are scheduled but haven't occurred yet but I'm 90% certain it will be more bloviating. When will upper management realize that endless meetings are probably the single biggest deterrent to productivity?

Q4A: Would you consider an unusually high number of exes to be a red flag?

I'm considering asking this girl to be my girlfriend. We met at a friend's birthday party a couple months ago. After we realized we were in one of the same classes, we decided to study together and ended up hooking up after said study session. We've been seeing each other since; she's sweet, funny, loves to cook, and encourages me to be better in my day-to-day life.

That being said, she mentioned a while ago that she didn't like the last restaurant she worked at because "like 5 of [her] exes" were regulars there, which implies that in the past four years, she's had more than five exes. Idgaf about n-count, but someone cycling through that many serious relationships that quickly does make me raise an eyebrow, and makes me wonder if I've got my rose-colored glasses on. Spent the past few days prepping for my rock delivery. No more mulch and wiping out a grass patch to landscape it so less mowing. Had to move pavers and other large rocks.

Also prepping for a garden in raised beds/planters. Need the rock down first and had to move some perennials to place the beds.

I have a large yard so mowing is very much a chore. LOL

Frankly I find it hard to be critical of married men that cheat on their wives. Men have so much more to lose in a divorce, ending the marriage because they no longer like/love her is usually very difficult and costly.

I always say what struggling men who are virgins are missing out on his romantic companionship. Sex is whatever...casual sex is validating when you experience it because it feels good to be desired, but it's not fulfilling.

Having an intimate connection with someone you enjoy spending time with is just something totally different, something that nothing else in life can replace. Not friends, not family, not hobbies. personally, i much prefer to wait for sex. i waited with my first partner, waited w my second (waited less time this time around for non-PIV stuff). and it’s a rule i much prefer to stick to.

in todays age i’d still say it’s a better decision for SOME women to wait for sex, but not because she wants to “appear chaste and modest”.

there’s little to no reward for women to keep up a chaste appearance to appeal to some hypothetical man. nowadays men either 1, don’t even ask for your body count that you so carefully protected anyway or 2, if you say a low number they assume you’re lying. if a woman desires more sexual partners, the opinion of some hypothetical future man is not a strong deterrent, and waiting for sex to appeal to someone else’s opinion is a bad deal.

the woman who should consider waiting for sex is a woman who knows it’ll hurt her own feelings if each sexual partner doesn’t turn into a LTR. the woman who knows she’ll feel used, rather than seeing each sexual experience as mutually enjoyable and a favorable memory regardless of outcome.

i know i’d be bothered if i slept w someone and it didn’t turn into an LTR, so I prefer to wait while I assess long term compatibility and develop an emotional connection. it also hasn’t meant i have a low libido, i’m rather HL and adventurous i just strongly prefer to save that for a special man.

there’s no point in waiting some arbitrary amount of months to try and keep up an appearance - a man who would judge you for having sex w him is probably not a good fit anyway.

Hi! 🐸 I have a relationship question about an imaginary scenario.

But as I can't, I'll ask humans (in the same scenario) if that is ok.

Let's imagine that until recently you had a nice, peaceful, normal life with your husband/wife. However, something weird started to happen. Your husband/wife from time to time gets this deep strong longing for nature, and simply starts walking towards the city limits and then off to the green fields and forests of wilderness.

They never explain, they just leave. It could happen while you do grocery shopping, while you eat dinner, or even during some conversation. It has become usual to receive a phone call at work, and hear a concerned voice: "Hey, I've seen your husband/wife roaming the fields again and I managed to catch them, could you please hurry and pick them up?".

You've observed the process, before their departures: they suddenly stop what they were doing, get silent and stay still with empty eyes for a few moments... And then, they just start walking, looking straight forward, but without a clear target... You tried to follow them and they always get on the same path, towards the fields, walking in straight line, never stopping, never interacting with anything, like under complete hypnosis.

Yet during these moments, if you went after them and asked them loudly to come back with you, they would seem to suddenly wake up, smile and obediently follow you home without a word. They re-become more lively and more resembling their usual selves as you together approach your house. You tried to talk and ask them about this, but they just give a silent sad smile, seem disoriented, never having an explanation for what they do.

What would you do?

a) Decide to finally allow them to leave, but prepare a backpack full of travel supplies like food, water, medical kit etc. When they start their walk you rush to equip them with the backpack (they are very docile in this state and won't object to you doing this). And then you wish them a safe journey as you watch them slowly depart.

b) You prepare a backpack full of traveling supplies but you put it on yourself and once your husband/wife starts walking, you follow them a few steps behind, making sure they are safe, while being prepared to give them food, water, put a bandage on them if they get hurt or shelter them if the weather turns bad, however never telling them to come back with you in order for them to fulfill their journey.

c) You install a camera on them and transmit their journey live on the internet. The channel gets millions of subscribers you get rich, but you never actually look at the videos and have no idea where your husband/wife is at.

d) You always lock the doors and windows while going to work (so that they can't go wondering when they are not supervised), never forgetting to leave enough food and water for them to have, until you get back. Sometimes asking neighbors and family to go check on them from time to time while you are away.

e) You buy a virtual reality game that makes you able to roam free in nature, you put the headset on them, and leave them in a closed room while you mind your own business and are able to forget about them.

f) You decide to accommodate your husband/wife the most you can, dedicating your whole life to it. You move to a house in the middle of nature where you survive by cultivating fruits and vegetables and, if the law of the land and your principles allow it, hunting. You fill the home with plants and buy pet singing birds that fly freely around the house. You take your husband/wife as often as you can on long walks in nature, hoping that this will slowly cure them.

One of the things I find most wacky here is the amount of people, from all sides, who say that sexual compatibility isn't a real thing.

Stalking someone’s social media is not what I’d necessarily consider a “background check” but ok lol. But it goes back to what I’ve said for years, if you tell a girl I have no social media many look at it as a red flag for one of 3 reasons

1.)He’s a weirdo who really doesn’t have social media

2.)He’s lying because he has social media he just doesn’t want me to see it cause he has a GF/kids plastered all over it

3.)He’s lying, he has social media he’s just posting weird/offensive things on it that he doesn’t want me to see

I have known guys who have a generic back up social media for those particular girls, especially the ones who want a side piece

Rap music and the type of behavior it promotes is a huge reason to why dating, especially in the black community, is where it is and I say this as a black guy

The drug use, promiscuity, and violence is extremely detrimental to the psyche of most teens and 20 year olds

there are two betabuxx scenarios that are observable in my opinion

1.Woman has no money and the guy has lots of money with the main reason for the woman to be with that man is money.

Old guy going for a very young woman -while she is obviously way more attracted to men closer to age

Outside of these scenarios which are becoming rarer and rarer in the west, I've never seen a beta buxx scenario. Beta buxxers also usually have dorky personalities. There's also a funny phrase I heard once which is : Engineers are the only guys who don't understand how to transform status into real attraction.

A woman who is 25 with 3 kids is extremely young. Unless she had triplets at 25, she likely had her first kid at 21 or 22. Most people, even if they finish college, are not established at 21 or 22 and most women who are having kids at 21 or 22 aren’t in college.

Usually a 25 year old single mom of 3:

Comes from a lower socioeconomic status

Faces more disparities and barriers than the average upper middle class Jane

Did not go to college or trade school, and most women who do not go to college or trade school don’t go because of barriers, like lack of money or not having support through the college application process.

Is mostly around men who are in her situation. She wasn’t meeting upper middle class provider nice guys who were willing to marry her at age 20.

Bringing this up cause it was hidden two threads back

Most cases because dating is dominated by social circles (and OLD)

If we put 50 twenty year old women on Mars and 50 fifty year old men on Mars they will date each other at a similar clip

The second wave idea that women would start dating women is a lie

The fourth wave idea that women would prefer to be single is a lie

The third wave idea that the best looking would take precedence is true though.

Meanwhile have the reverse and the average numbers would drop. Difficult to say by how much since men would fuck anything on average. But it would affect the male drive of the men who do not fuck everything. But admitedly more importantly that women refuse to date younger men.

The main difference is that men are lookist at our core. Sure there are some girls here that are lookist too but they are exceptions. Women are 100% about their emotions. Never more and never less.

There is enormous precedent from the 60s of secretaries marrying their bosses. Freely doing so (as in no arranged marriages)

There is zero precedent for the reverse

Coffee date culture needs to die. It’s a cop out date pushed by people who are too afraid of risks.

You don’t need what’s essentially a pre-date to get a feel for whether there’s something there to qualify someone for a real date. That’s what the first date is for and from that, you judge whether there should be a second one.

You don’t force someone into a boring interview to prove to you that they’re worthy of a real date. It’s a real shame that so many have been frightened into believing that any slight deviation from that method means that they’re being played.
