In all of my classes I have a first week low stakes assignment where I just ask them to introduce themselves. I tell them to write whatever they want, but focus on letting me know what will help them learn best. I tell them, "think, am I a visual learner? Do I like to have discussions? Am I good at time management?" Sort of thing. This year out of 30 students, 23 of them told me they have autism or are on the spectrum and will struggle with the course. Twenty three. Again because I still am thinking about it - twenty fucking three. What is interesting is that out of all the students, I have received 4 accommodation requests.

Obviously, it's impossible that they all have actual diagnosed autism. But gen Z legit lacks social skills and has serious problems, the fact that so many people even think they might have autism does indicate that something is wrong.

The comment about Sleep paralysis reminded me that It's a shame that literally every single person in my family has seen something paranormal except me. I was actually born in a haunted apartment building because some random girl climbed to the roof of the apartment and jumped from there. I fundamentally disagree with the idea that children owe their parents anything. You made the choice to have them; they didn’t make the choice to be born. Acting like they owe you because you raised them is like me expecting praise for putting out a fire I intentionally started.

This was a part of a response to a debate I was having. I like the fire analogy. In that having kids is like starting a fire. At first, it’s just kindling. With a spark, there’s flame. Light. Heat. If one tends their fire well, it becomes a roaring blaze. Spreading light, and warmth throughout the darkness.

Then one day, very far into the future, if one has done their job right, that fire might just turn back around. It might just say; “all this light, and warmth I’ve brought into existence. To my community. My society. All this light I’ve brought into the universe. I might just share some of that light, and warmth, with you.”

The flames I set bright into my kids, aren’t for me. First and foremost, it is for them. To burn bright. If, and it is a big if, when I am old, and can no longer tend their fire as I have, I won’t begrudge them their opportunity. To turn around, and share a little of that light with me.

So I went to singles mixers yesterday. It was mostly for entertainment/trolling purposes, unless I meet a perfect match I would rather be single. Here is the summary:

Out of twenty two females that were supposed to show up, twenty one did and out of fifteen men, nine showed up, including me. We all did quick introductions and then hanged out amongst ourselves at which point women and men had mostly self-segregated. Basically, clicks formed with two group of three men, one group of five women in which I was somehow included, mostly cause one of them recognized me from uni, I didn't remember her, all do apparently we took one class and were on the same team during one of the events together, and she sort of pulled me in, another mixed group of two men and six or seven women, and two more group made up of purely women. Later one group of men and another group of women joined us and we ended up in one giant group were several conversations were happening all at ones. What I noticed was that women did most of the talking and men for the most part just straggled to keep up conversation, with me and one other dude being the exception.

Then 20-30 minutes latter the actual event started, we again did introductions with everyone sharing one unusual fact about themselves. Then pizza and other food was served and board games come out, I played several games of uno and also monopoly. I was horrible at uno, I don't think I played it since high school, and had basically relearn it but I did end up with most money in all four of the monopoly games, so I'm very proud of that. Conversations were for the most part pleasant, with two or three exceptions when some women were in very unsubtle manner trying to figure out who was making how much money, all do to be fair that was also directed that line of questioning to other women and not only men. That was just awkward. There were also three guys who all come in together and formed a group of three at the very beginning, I think they all worked nearby or together, but they were far more interested in talking with each other, discussing their own niche subject, rather then games, women and mingling in general. I had great conversation with another European at the event, she was Poland, and we discussed Slavic foods and complained about California weather. Also I reminisced with my classmate about school and what we did after. It was good for the most part. Also there was this black lady with this huge afro and she turned out to be a history teacher and we spoke at length about Hundred Years war, honestly she impressed me. Rarely I meet women who have deep interest and knowledge of Medieval history. Again my overall observation was that most men were to nervous/afraid/uninterested to talk and struggled to keep up.

Afterwards most people ended up mingling again and mixing again but now mostly in groups of threes or twos. Several left early. I ended up rotating between various women, mostly three I mentioned above, and another one who was so forgettable that I'm not even sure how I got her number and I can even hardly remember her face. Anyway I walked away with 4 phone numbers from all the ladies mentioned above plus another one, my coworker who dragged me into all of this also got 2, the three guys who came in together also left together and I think I saw them going into another place and shoot pool, as I walked African lady to the car, she offered to go hang out in cafe some more, but I made my excuses and left. My main observation from this was that men seem to be struggling with social skills and talk too little, too much and don't pick up on the reactions their getting. My coworker, I was next to him a lot, over and over again went into minute details describing his job to the women and completely ignored the fact that she was clearly bored by this, all do she took it well. I twice inserted myself to change conversation and I'm sure he did some more when I was not around. That is what stood out to me most. And that was the evening.

Well I noticed she would get jealous when I’d get a job for US. She started accusing me of being conceited and that I think I’m all that although I never said nothing and she herself never wanted to do anything.

Well she ended up cheating on me and got me kicked out of graduate school ten years ago. Although I got the case dismissed I am still suffering with $240,000 in federal student loans due to it with no degree from it.

Stupid me STILL took her back after the cheating.

Well guess what? 8 years goes by, and she suddenly cheats when I graduate from a new program. She flies out of state to meet a guy off FB. Ghosts me suddenly (thought she wasn’t ever gonna do this type of thing again) and then starts posting online about her “twin flame” stuff.

Then comes back and gets knocked up by a drug dealer. Imagine? I was married with this woman and had a child with her and then she got pregnant and started having the guy threaten me.

Then tries to file child support against me and hold my child against me.

This is all 4 months after my best friend (my dad) passed. And kept calling police on me when I had my child for “wellness checks.”

Now every month I pay $250 in visitation fees despite being full custody (temp) and she has t paid a cent.

She tried coming back 4 months ago and I literally didn’t reply because I am speechless by her actions.

Last I heard she’s working a random job somewhere.

She brought my mental health so low I had lost my job two years ago and was living in a house with zero electricity and zero water, to the point I lost 30 lbs from being hungry and having no car and my house turned into a hoarder house. I was just praying to God to die and pass on it was so miserable.

Now I have a job but am still in major debt with $240k in loans and paying for all these fees and STILL not having a car after going through bankruptcy. Literally hell upon hell I was in.

I really hope she gets what she deserves for what she did to me and my child but it seems like not. She just “lives in the moment” and that’s it.

If you could spare me one second for a dua thank you in advance.
