A key difference between porn actresses and most only fans creators is that the OF creators lean heavily on making their clients feel like they are liked and seen.

If OF was just a paid porn gallery, that'd be... sad, but equal to porn. But it isn't. There's a deliberate effort to target loneliness and desperation and to milk it for profit.

It's not dissimilar to predatory videogames milking "whales".

So it's disliked for the same reason.

I don't specifically dislike onlyfans models but I do dislike the business model and what it encourages. I think the difference between regular pornography and onlyfans is that onlyfans is specifically designed to make you feel connected to the creator. Direct messaging that is formatted like a text exchange makes it seem far more personal than it is. I think that system is inherently going to effect the most vulnerable members of society, including those with intellectual disabilities. I have met men with intellectual disabilities who are spending money they don't really have on onlyfans models.

Add to that the fact that the marketing infiltrates fan spaces most likely to have lonely guys (anime, gaming, twitch streaming) that are also often inhabited by teenage boys and yeah the entire platform feels predatory. I don't blame onlyfans creators in the same way I don't blame YouTubers for using clickbait. There is a clear incentive (and normalisation) of participation in these strategies. I blame the platform that created the incentive.

I grew up in a time and place surrounded by leftist and feminist people who were very clear about porn being wrong. Using it made you filthy. You were perfectly proving their point that your urges were sick, if you did.

And nowadays, complete flip-flop. Being a pornographer on OF is this liberating choice somehow. And the male audience is cast as... well no longer evil pseudo-rapists, but still pathetic Johns, who by all means, should absolutely still hate themselves and their sexuality.

Well, I stunted myself long ago to escape that frame.

I switched to drawn and written porn, using only categories of doesn't-exist-in-real-life. I'm not telling you what, but the alien space smurfs of the Avatar movies would've fit the bill.

No shame or envy-spirals can go with that. Any implied responsibility would be absurd. So that was very freeing.

I didn't know this would almost kill the little connective sexuality I had left. This made it immensly hard to heal just enough to actually stomach having sex for real. How fucked is that?

Men who hate Onlyfans (OF) creators so do because they hate the concept of a sex worker having a drop of autonomy and control. They think sex workers deserve to be beaten and abused and raped and trafficked. When they see a sex worker who has control over her finances, is safe within her own home, and can choose witch clients she wants to interact with, they are deeply offended.

They will invent a million fake reasons why OF sex workers are "evil" and "taking advantage of lonely men" when it's a known fact that the majority of men who subscribe to these services are married (and cheating on their wives). Also nobody is forcing men to watch this kind of content, they watch it because they like it.

And to the men who claim that OF is "spamming content" everywhere, I rarely ever get an ad from a creator or OF in general. If you are consistently receiving sexual content on your social media, it's because you consistently interact with it and watch it, and the algorithm pushes similar content to whatever you're watching. You are telling on yourself.

It used to be that there were a small number of the same handful of pornstars that basically made all of the professional porn content. So men were able to enjoy that content, while only a few women were "ruined" in the process, and everyone knew who those women were, so they could easily avoid them.

But now everyone and their mother has an OF (literally). Anyone could have an OF, and you might never know. Wayyy more women are rendering themselves not "relationship material" and reducing men's options for relationships/marriage, while producing less content each. And content we didn't even need, because there's already so much that you could beat it 24/7 for the rest of your life and never run out.

OF doesn't serve men's interests. It serves women's interests. The optimal setup for men is that there are a few designated "whores" who produce all the content that everyone can enjoy, while the rest of the women are kept modest and suitable for relationships. But OF allows tons of women to produce just a little content each, while making a bag, and often staying totally anonymous and taking it to their grave.

And aside from men's interests, it was also just better for society when all that degeneracy was reserved for a separate class of people, kept separate from real relationships, marriages, and families IRL. Husband aside, how is it gonna impact children when they're able to find their mom's old OF content online, or other kids at school find it? Or their teachers. And so on.

TL;DR: The rise of OF has resulted in a higher total # of women ruining themselves for relationships/marriage, for no good reason.

Lol no, I actually admire OF creators - and enjoy the work they do, albeit not paying for it. There are plenty of sites where the OF content washes up when the sweatiest of fanboys is done jerking to it. Uploading so others can jerk to it gives him a thrill of temporary power over her and I'm a beneficiary of all that.

I think what gets people fired up is the capitalist bait and switch (and I agree with a comment elsewhere, if people dislike this then they should definitely extrapolate that to many of tech-capitalism's other grifts). A fake but persuasive human connection is offered, not just images.

I don't think anything is "immoral" (I'm not a religious wowser) and I don't judge the individual women doing it too harshly. As with most problems it is better to analyse at system level than by hating individuals doing their best in the place they are in.

See in a wider context, especially for incels and the like, they are in a society where they feel they have far less chance of finding a partner, and at the same time are swamped with 'opportunities' to have an almost-connection with incredibly appealing women. It is without a doubt like a drug, much the way p$rn can be addictive, and with that extra mirage of the human connection they crave.

I don't think it's healthy more broadly for relationships either. If a primary issue out here is a gap between what men (and I think women) believe they can attract, and who they can actually attract, men being able to connect on a deeper level with ultra hot 21 year olds who also do all sorts of things on request is not really ideal. I think the science of brains, addiction and attraction is well behind the speed at which tech is 'breaking things' and screaming forward, and by the time we have a proper reckoning with where this is all taking us we may all be sitting in pods on drips.

I have never gone on OF. I have visited quite a bit of p$rn. I do think it's potentially not ideal either, have almost gone back off it now and am open to discussions about whether it should be available the way it is.

Tl;dr my yapfest, I don't think the women are bad people. But I do think there are some deeper issues here that progressive or thoughtful individuals should be thinking about.

I don't like OF creators in the same way I don't like...I don't know...Taylor Swift, for example. Not that I have some kind of hate for them, I just don't interact with them in any way, and tend to roll my eyes and skip any posts/mentions from or about them

What I truly dislike tho, is how OF creators practically hijack any positivity towards men, and use it to promote their channels. Onlyfans itself is pimping incorporated. The models are not comparable to porn actresses, they are comparable to prostitutes. Onlyfans is also preying on some of the most vulnerable among us - people who feel socially isolated, people prone to addiction, people with little sense of self-worth - by playing into unhealthy parasocial dynamics. It's inherently exploitative and immoral. Even if you don't give a fuck about the customer, the platform is still exploitative to the models and encourages them to harmful behavior for the sake of subscriber retention.
I'm not against porn actors, the core difference betwen regular porn and OF is that regular porn is not interactive, not personalized and not a continous service. This is why I draw the pararell with prostitution, becouse functionally it's the same thing. You pay someone to perform sexual acts for you. But even then, I have less problems with traditional prostitution becouse you can't really spam visiting prostitutes multiple times a day but OF is trying to keep you on the website as much as possible. It's the difference betwen a traditional casino and a gambling website. The ceiling is just a lot higher in terms of damage that it can cause.
I view acting in porn as both a tougher job and something that has less harmful ripple effects on consumers. You are not really immoral, everybody knows it's fake and ideally you are working with fellow professionals in the field. OF is inherently immoral becouse regardless if you engage in predatory behavior or not, you are still generating revenue for a platform built on exploitation. Then again, the enitre pull of OF is the parasocial aspect.
Used to watch porn but not anymore, never been subscribed for anyone on OF. Never paid for adult content and never will.

Yes I am repulsed by OF creators. I understand that it is just a choice. But it is just basic animal repulsion. It is like the idea of just torturing another individual. There is an ingrained repulsion for those women. It is not societal, it is not religious, it is not from outside. It is biological in nature.

Men are repulsed by women who they know have a lot of experience.
