I'm not really a part of this community, but the vast majority of women I know from 30-45 have no issues dating if they're interested in that. Plenty of options - younger or older.

I think some people are just miserable and they have revenge fantasies, that is it.

obviously women always have options but they might not like the options that are presented to them. i think the concept of 'the wall' is hyperbolic but i also don't think that most successful men who have things going for them are looking to marry 50 year old women. the truth is probably somewhere in between and it's definitely not just sour grapes who think that.

If you want to date younger women, you have to ditch or offset most/all of those negatives. Most guys can't do it.

It's generally true that women over the age of 30 tend to have fewer options than in their early 20s. Again, "generally" and "tend" are tentative terms and it also depends on genes and how well you maintain yourself, it's not like many men don't show signs of aging at 30+.

Red pillers often take the extreme scenario of a situation and act like it's an absolute truth. The only valid criticism I see in the "wall" scenario is that there are women in their 40s who act like indecisive, hard-to-get 20 year olds. But again, this is subset, it doesn't apply to most women of this group.

There are a lot of factors you’re not considering. The “wall” stereotype is very much a cosmopolitan, professional woman sort of trope. There just aren’t that many of these women around in the first place, if you look at hard numbers, and most provincial people marry younger, and consequently nearer in age, than cosmopolitan city-dwellers.

Anyway, the wall is real, even if the way it is fetishised is definitely a weird sort of revenge fantasy (i.e. BOTH things can be true, which seems like it is the answer to almost every question posted on this sub).

No, that's not how statistics works. 50% of men are above average. The dating market doesn't care about people who are unattractive and undateable. They are non-factors.

Plenty of young women are willing to date good looking older men who are ready to commit, treat them right, and financially provide for them, because this is hard to find in young men.

The real problem with the "wall theory" is that age is not the only factor in attractiveness. I'd still take a woman who's my type and in her 30s over a woman who isn't my type and in her 20s.

I'm in my 30s and the truth is that there are more available single men when you're younger, that's just a fact. I don't think any "wall" has to do with your desirability but more so that there are fewer options as you get older, especially if you have higher standards or don't want someone who's been divorced already or someone who's had a ton of relationships.

I attract guys who are younger than me (seriously, most recently, the youngest was A DECADE younger than me lol and he does not care that he's that much younger) and older. But the slightly older guys assume I'm way younger than them and talk to me as if it's a thing and take extra steps to make sure it's ok lol, it's kind of funny.

I don't know if all men prefer young young women. I've met guys who seem deeply uncomfortable with it for a long-term thing. Even my ex (a year older than me) who attracted alll kinds of women still finds women in their 20s to be extremely immature and has a hard time with it. And he was the guy who kept telling me it was fine if he was 31 and his new gf would be 23/24 lmao, dude tried for a few weeks and said he couldn't do it.

And I mean, let's be honest, a lot of people do look better in their 20s. Men included. So it's valid that some women might just look better at 24/25 than they do at 34/35. The same applies to a ton of men too. I can see the appeal as a woman closer to the latter age. But there's more than looks that goes into a serious relationship. I mean if I could choose, I'd honestly probably choose a guy who looks between 24-30 over a man who looks 34-40, not gonna lie, but has the maturity of a 40 year old man. We all want perfection lol.

Same with men's abilities to have kids. Yeah, you may still be fertile into old age, but that won't help you have a kid if you don't also have a fertile female partner. There really aren't a lot of men that become fathers past 45.

Those charts where men peak at 38 are delusional because one of them came from nowhere (Rollo's mind) and the other is backed by data but it refers to people of the same age and it's also data from dating apps, which diverge a lot from real life. But the biggest problem they have in my opinion is that they're based on age as the main criteria. Age is a huge factor for men, who usually prefer younger women even if they can't get them, but it doesn't seem to be as much of a factor for women.

My experience about men is that what men find attractive is signs of fertility and not age, but that correlates strongly with age. For LTRs, successful men might ignore women over ~30 because they would have to have children in a hurry. If the man became successful, he now wants a family on his terms. Because there are 20 reasonable women for each man women consider high value and many don't even want LTRs. Many of these men can't do that when they're young because success takes time and women tend to value success in LTRs. And lower value men might also prefer to be alone than to get into a relationship that won't get him what he wants anyway.

On the other hand, my experience about women is that they'll prefer men only slightly older but that doesn't have as much weight: they'll usually give this low priority and accept guys much older with no problem if he's successful and has good looks. And if he's not successful and doesn't have good looks, being young won't help him much anyway. Men are unlikely to invert these priorities.

By being very charitable, we can interpret those red pill charts as describing the potential people have. Many average women will achieve the potential those charts depict because men focus more on things correlated to age. A few successful men will also achieve that potential but only because the success is correlated to age.

You could say there could be a chart for average people who didn't achieve that potential and had to find someone their age because they had no choice. Sure, many men will be without a choice in their 30s, but many more men don't have much of a choice in their 20s either. At least in their 30s, many men had time to fix what needed to be fixed and to be more successful in life. In a way, that's been close to my experience: I became much more successful with women in their early 20s after I turned 30. My health is OK, I have stability in life, I never hid my age, and no one ever seemed to care. I feel much more attractive now than in my 20s. There are people in their 20s who look better, sure. But all I care about is that I look better than I used to. Maybe I'm attracting worse-quality women by looking for women who don't care about age, and maybe I have to worry about being "used" mostly for money, but that's another issue.

Also, most men are not very active at all in their 20s. They're not virgins but they don't have sex regularly. They just get lucky every once in a while. And many of these men won't be happy to only be picked by women in their 30s to be the provider in these conditions. They have other male friends, some friends are higher-value, and they know these women spent their 20s with other types of people. Many of these men (~>25% ?) will just decide to just remain single forever. So no one is going to be with no choice because being alone is also a choice for them. They're used to being alone because they've been doing it for 15+ years.

So this is the "wall" in the sense that the men they want are not available to them, regardless of age. They can only settle with someone who accepts the fact they're only doing it because they both have no choice. And not all women are even going to be able to make that second choice because there are not enough men for that considering that many men just choose to remain single.

The concept of the wall wouldn't fall apart. You are leaving out that men have a preference towards dating younger women. So, at a certain age, a woman is less desirable than previously. For men, the opposite occurs. They're more desirable up to around 37 than they were at 20. It basically flips. The mistake is in thinking one sex is winning over another. That's not the reality. It evens out. Most Red Pill men I know acknowledge that it isn't really better or worse from either perspective. On average, it just evens out with each reaching their peak in the sexual market place at different stages. So, yes, people tend to date within a 4-year age range, but most of those people in the relationship on the older side are men. Most of the people on the younger side are women. Most of those women that are the most desirable to men are in their early-to-mid 20's. That's all the wall observation observes. No more and no less.

As men get older they are more likely to let go of inhibitions. Even if they are disadvantaged in terms of their own age they may be more likely to shoot their shot and go for it and not be wall flowers who believe there's always going to be a tomorrow. Since you get nothing as a male wall flower it's still relative abundance to be talking to more women even if they all shoot you down. Women also leave their pedestal in a man's eyes when he hits a certain age. I would argue that most western men go through a simp phase where they see women as superior angels while for women it's the opposite; older women start to see the good in men out of necessity.

The entire premise of TRP is to up your physique, wealth, and status to the point that you can date younger women. I’m only 30 but didn’t have a problem with 18-22 yr old college girls. I looked good in my teens but now I still look good and live a far more exciting life (sport cars, boats, vacations etc)

Women don’t have the same opportunity as a 5/10 woman with money and status is still a 5/10.

Another thing is if youre a 3.5/10 guy with no success in your 20s you’ll also probably have zero luck in your 30s-40s regardless of wealth and status. Men can keep the ball rolling longer but if if it never started it’s unlikely to ever.

I think your premise is wrong, women do seem to have a preference for older men. There is a 'thing' bout older men, maturity, perceived sexual prowess, success, etc.... I could be wrong, idk for sure, but I definitely do see that in the wilds of online dating for instance. As for the point of 1-3 years age gap. My take on this is that folks generally hang out in those age group cohorts. Little jack and suzie met in high school via their high school friends, or college, etc... they tend to do things that folks in that age group tend to do, etc... it just tracks them across their lives. Folks also tend towards wanting longer term relationships, not being poly, etc... which means that earlier relationships tend to be their main relationships, and those earlier relationships tend exactly be the little jack and suzie stories.

But, butt, butts here, as a matter of fantasies and when it comes to especially online dating pools that break those age cohort groups, all the sexual libidinousness comes out. The wall talks about older women, not younger women. It also has nothing to do with whether or not women are willing to date older men. You're right that many younger women prefer dating men around their age (although this isn't true for all of them). However, this doesn't change the fact that as women get older, their attractiveness and desirability drops sharply and they get a lot less freebies an handouts because of the way that they look. They become invisible to society, just like the average man.

Also when you talk about the age gap between couples being 1-3 years, that's true of couples that settle down and marry in their 20s aka pre wall. As women get into their 30s and 40s and beyond they need to be okay with larger and large age gaps because the men their age don't want them. They'll have sex with them, sure. However, they won't date or marry these women. Hence you have women in their early 30s dating men 5 years older, women in their mid 30s dating men a decade older and women in their 40s dating men two decades older and so on.

The concept of the Wall doesn't fall apart. Women's desirability generally can go only down with age. Men's can go either down or up, up to a certain extent of course, largely due to two factors: a)larger fertility window, and b)increase in status/money/experience that comes with age. The whole concept is based around the fact that the gradual loss of physical attractiveness, coupled with the smaller fertility window, is more detrimental to women than men when it comes to long term relationships/marriage. That's all there is to it. Mostly because men overwhelmingly prioritize beauty/youth, and if they make it financially and socially, they won't be looking for an "equal", they'll leverage their status and money to first and foremost secure a hot partner. This doesn't necessarily mean they'll go for 18 year olds. Same principles apply to women the same age as them. For example, if the guy is 31, he will pick a hot 31 year old who makes much less compared to him instead of a less attractive 31 year old who matches him in success/status.

Men can clearly see this as when we are high school and college age a lot of the women our age ignore us to pursue older, more established and sophisticated men. As you say yourself, older men and younger men alike have a preference for younger women. So it's reasonable to assume the most attractive minority of the older men both are able to, and do, date younger women.

Which leads us to the conclusion that older women are mostly dating same-age and older men they aren't that attracted to.

It also seems like older women are sincere when they wax lyrical about how unattractive the majority of older men are (fat bellies, bald heads, wrinkles, shriveled flaccid members). In every age-gap relationship discussion, older women argue furiously that older men are unattractive and younger women (who have options) are bound to reject them. Isn't it reasonable, then, to conclude that older women are also unattracted to most older men also, as a rule? And that (with a few exceptions) most older men in relationships are second- and third-options: the cleanup-crew?

Red herring. "The wall" refers to when most men will stop commiting to women (usually when she's done having kids), not what men women find attractive.

The entire concept of the wall more or less falls apart when you take young women's clear preference for dating men around their own age into account.

Nearly every dude can recall a stories from when they were in middle school seeing girls their own age date high schoolers. And they can also recall when they were in high school seeing girls their own age getting picked up by college dudes in cars and dating those guys. And they got to college it was women in their age group dating older guys in their 30s with established careers and so on. And then we got the girls who are in their early twenties talking about their "sugar daddies". Those older men are definitely getting their chunk of flesh.

To address that, I would also hit you with a question. Why do you think so many girls have a story about an older guy they've slept with. Either you have a story or you know someone who has a story. There are a bunch of younger women who have ended up in bed with older dudes at one point or another. It's might not be the majority, but it's enough to the point that nearly every guy has seen one of the above situations. how are 63% of men under the age of 30 single while for women it's more like 30 to 40%. That's a big enough discrepancy to make a difference. The most logical answer is these girls are dating older men.

If age gap relationships weren't a problem we wouldn't see so many women complain about it. Leonardo Dicaprio wouldn't be a reoccurring topic in this sub. Didn't Henry Cavil cause a ruckus recently cause he is 42 and just married a 26 year old. Thats another contribution to the statistic posted above. If it wasn't a big problem to women, they wouldn't be calling men "groomers". But the occurrence of age gap relationship with older men and younger women is so common that women made a term for it. And most guys report that dating gets easier for them as they get older, while women tend to report the opposite.

I've never seen any evidence of any kind of wall. Women in their 40's and 50's have plenty of options to date. Really good looking women can date younger men quite easily and I have lost more than one girl I was talking to/dating to younger men.

The rest are perfectly happy being single and living with their kids and pets and there are plenty of good looking men in their 40's and 50's to fling with so why take on a full blown relationship?

I don't see a wall. In fact I see a golden age for people over 40.

It’s not a shaming tactic. People (with a few exceptions) start to look worse as they get older, usually between 30-40.

Men lean into the aging process. They don’t cover their wrinkles with foundation and dye their gray hair in order to look better like women do.

Eventually women stop putting as much effort into their appearance, usually from a major life event, so their appearance rapidly catches up with their age. That is all that “the wall” is describing.

Do some men use this as a shaming/scare tactic? For sure. But to deny that this concept exists is just… weird. Call it something else if it makes you feel better.

It’s a lot like how women use “Peter Pan Syndrome” to shame guys.

A young woman is in their prime and is also not the average woman.

If every young woman also got with a man in his prime. There would still be a huge percentage of men still single.

Men are always talking about women should be with their equivalent, well why a young woman be with a man who’s Under 6ft and making less than 100k? Her equivalent is not an average man, her equivalent is a top 15%-20% man.

So all this does is just encourages more men to be single which I thought goes against what men wanted.

Young woman get with 20% man

Woman 30+ stay single since they hit the wall

80% of men stay single

How is that any better than what’s currently happening?
