I don't know. Every woman I've ever met that relied solely on man to provide everything for her got screwed over or the man ended up treating her like shit. Those women had to start from the bottom up and some times they were basically left out on the streets.

Sure, women can do very very little and still get a man, but what kind of man?

I couldn't be with a woman who wanted to rely solely on me. Not saying I mind providing for a woman I'm with, but she does need to be independent and self determined. Independence and self determination in a woman is attractive. And I think most independent and self determined men feel that way.

Men who want an entirely dependent woman tend to be men who either A) want to be in total control of her and the relationship or B) want to be entirely emotionally dependent on the woman and having a dependent woman makes them feel good about themselves.

I for starters, don't need someone to provide or take care of me. I provide for and take care of myself thanks. This goes for a lot of women nowadays. They want more than just someone to provide for or take care of them. Thus, cannot afford to be lazy or uninteresting themselves.

What I want is an interesting, intellectual, intelligent man who can hold long, deep, funny and interesting conversations. Someone who can entertain me and support me through tough times emotionally and mentally.

So, I've worked very hard to become this kind of person myself, and this is who I am. I'm neither lazy nor uninteresting, nor do I want to be. I spend my time learning about lots of new topics, I'm knowledgeable about a variety of things and capable of holding long and interesting conversations, I'm skilled in my hobbies and work, and I make a lot of effort to make romantic relationships work.

Currently I'm single. Not cause of a lack of men throwing themselves at me, cause there are a lot of men willing to provide and care for me. However, these men do not match who I am as a person. They don't bring the same things and visions to the table that I do. Doesn't matter if you're a hot guy with a BMW and stacks of cash and abs if you aren't a well reflected intelligent man capable of having interesting conversation with me. Doesn't matter if you have the house, the car, the successful career if you're a generic dude with a bland personality who cant entertain me or make me laugh or engange with me in interesting ways.

I'm not exempt from being a provider. I work to pay my bills, when I've been in relationships I've often provided more to the household than the guy did.

Yes I am exempt from the draft but so are all the men and women in my country, so this point means nothing.

I am not exempt from being expected to pay for dates. In fact throughout my life I've paid for more dates than have been paid for me. I think you underestimate how many men are users, and overestimate how many women are.

Realistically, you'll probably find someone else who's lazy and boring. You can provide each other with compatible lifestyles, but there isn't some endless supply of interesting or rich men so you certainly won't get much money or entertainment. Just asking for money from a boyfriend will most likely end up with him laughing in your face. Men are considered exempt from a lot such as basic responsibility and household chores, meanwhile everyone on the planet has to pay for their own stuff one way or another. Someone else bossing you around is the opposite of a privilege.

As a man who gets around, I can tell you from first hand experience that women are struggling to find a man of good character just as much as men seem to struggle to find a good woman. You would be surprised but good-looking women who are not IG psytraps and have standards, have sometimes even more trouble since they get thirsted after only for their looks by idiots, while good men might automatically assume they are out of their league or a risk for promiscuous behavior merely because of their looks. I have female friends, pretty ones, with succesful careers and even paid houses - yet, no man. Even today one of them called me to say that she actually had thought about a life with me - but my wild history made her reconsider (she has seen and heard too much of my escapades) when we were discussing yet another guy who only seemed to want her for her big booty and pretty face. There are plenty of women with normal standards that dont fall into this group you speak of.

Just saying. The world is not that black and white. If a man wants sex he can literally just pay 20€ to get off.. so to say one has it easier than the other.. is a fallacy.

Disagree. Well that used to be the case but not anymore, especially with RP ideas becoming ubiquitous. If a woman is broke and in her thirties it's pretty much over. Men are scrutinizing, questioning what she did for the last decade to financially prepare for the possibility of settling down. That whole "I won't settle" is a trope for financially challenged women to grasp at whatever semblance of hope they have left.

A man who gets stuck paying for a lazy and uninteresting woman probably doesn't have much to offer anyways. A man with a good personality and income will have options - especially in our modern society where most women work. In the US, it's not common, but i do sometimes see lazy women mooching off a man. However, it's not a gendered thing because you're just as likely to see a lazy man mooching off his woman.

The problem with a lot of these gendered arguments is the inability for people to distinguish their personal experiences from the general population. If you are observing this type of dynamic, it's most likely just prevalent in your own culture and community and doesn't immediately translate to the universal experience. You might think you see and know a lot of people but they don't even begin to represent a fraction of a fraction of the human population.

My advice is to NOT make sweeping generalizations like, it makes for a poor argument topics in which you go round and round because the answers can vary wildly depending on where you're coming from. More individual variations exist within gender populations than do against each other. Take everything with a grain of salt.

If you wanted to complain about women having "privilege", then do whatever you need to make yourself feel better but know that a resentful and negative man is likely to attract the same kind of woman. If you would just like to have a woman provide for you, I can guarantee that you'll be able to find some lonely woman who will do that.

I agree to an extent. You said she doesn't need to be beautiful, just make herself attractive. So I guess you mean wearing make up and nice dresses on weekends, but looking fairly unattractive the rest of the time while being lazy and uninteresting...

That's something that sometimes works with some guys, but generally speaking, below average looking, lazy and boring girls can't always sustain a long term relationship with just becoming attractive from time to time. Men standards are low, but aren't really that low unless there are kids involved. A man who can provide will eventually find a more interesting, more consistently attractive and less lazy woman to date.

Might work for a few months but imagine spending years taking care and providing for a boring, lazy and not naturally attractive woman... Only the ugliest and really lonely men would settle for that woman, almost every woman knows how to be attractive enough from time to time but weeks are long, not every day is Saturday night, come on...sounds like a recipe for unhappiness, she should at least be funny, emotionally supportive, nice and interesting if she isn't even beautiful and is going to be lazy.

Most households need a dual income to stay afloat these days anyway, which causes men to feel emasculated and to become seriously resentful. And interestingly enough it isn't this hypothetical woman laziness or uninterestingness ( I know that's not a word but neither are half the other bullshit "words" that people utter around here. I mean what the actual fuck is SEAmaxxing? But I digress). As I was saying, it isn't her laziness or uninterestingness that's keeping her from being provided for and taken care of.

It's the economic reality of the 21st century. And in all honesty it was also the reality for the latter part of the 20th century. A single income can only sustain a home on the rarest of instances. (Assuming other people live in that home. Of course a single income can sustain a home if a person lives alone.) The overwhelming majority of modern women don't have the option to be taken care of by the men in their lives. It takes two incomes so they get up and go to work just like their mates.

It is likely that she may make less $$$ and consequently contribute less financially to the household but that's a far cry from being provided for and taken care of. So no, they don't get provided for or taken care of. They just get free meals at Applebee's and free drinks at the bar. That's not provision.

Hi, a real woman here. I completely disagree with everything you just said. Maybe some women do this, but the things you’re writing about are very patriarchal, aka “old fashioned” ways of thinking. For example, I and my boyfriend both work full time at the same job and we both do nice things for each other like helping pay for each other. He did get a bonus that I didn’t get, so he will sometimes take the check more than me. I buy him stuff and food all the time though. I just dropped like $600 for his birthday because he means the world to me. I don’t expect anything from him, but he chooses to give and love me, and I do the same. We do different things for each other. Like I’m happy to cook for him mostly and he’s happy to drive mostly, but we help each other, but are both independent. He does NOT give me money. We are pretty equal in our shared expenses. 😊 Just please don’t assume all of this stuff you said based on a couple of experiences. I just think you need to do more research and talk to more people👍🏼

Buddy, if you’re trying to justify some way of becoming a woman “because it’s easier” then more power to you. But the rest of us are just going to ignore the gold digging whores like we have for years. Sure, women can use their sexuality to take advantage of men. They do so in a similar way that men often use their sexuality to take advantage of women. Some women will sleep with you after you take them to a $200 dinner and pay off the rent their behind on, and some men will take women on a romantic date or two tell them they see a future together then sleep with them and never call again.
