Yeah, that is silly unless it’s from a user that others remember for horrible opinions about men. Since there are some reoccurring users that have very nasty takes. Other than that, it wouldn’t make a lot of sense.

I’d wager that while there are miserable men downvoting, there are definitely some miserable women that are downvoting as well.

For the former, it’s because some of them are either super unhappy and are having their “women are settling for any man that’s less than a 10” narrative challenged.

For the latter, it’s also because some women are unhappy and want to drag others down, and are also having their “men are trash/monsters/evil” narrative challenged as well.

We have to remember that both women and men are capable of being assholes.

based on some of the comments I’ve heard in this sub, this is my guess.

some men believe women only like men for looks or money or status, and any woman who marries a man for any reasons others than these is “settling” and doesn’t love him because she’s not actually attracted to him. so they think any woman who says thigns she genuinely loves about her husband is lying unless it’s about money or looks.

these type of men seem to base their entire sense of self worth on their looks or money or status (or lack thereof), and therefore project that onto women, viewing anything else a woman says as lying.

Some people don’t want to see or hear that there are normal everyday people, in normal everyday relationships. Just trying to make it thru this crazy world in a crazy time, but still with a loving partner that makes them happy.

It’s much easier to pretend there are only “chads and Stacy” and only those types get to experience love and happiness! and since they weren’t born to such genetic privilege then there is nothing THEY can do! Certainly no point in putting in effort, and being alone: well that’s all out if their control anyways.

Otherwise they’d have to do some self reflection. Also likely some self improvement. Heck, they might even have to work on their people skills!!

Were some women describing their husbands in a utilitarian way?

Were some women mentioning how their husbands aren’t the same as the men they usually dated?

There is usually something that is less than savory when it’s being downvoted.

Also, the entire post could seem like propaganda to get men who are being settled for in some key ways to stay invested in society.

not from that thread but i rememeber a comment by a man on here a while ago that said "women here always be acting like they're married to chad. no woman in here will admit to marry a low value man, somehow magically all women in here managed to get chad"

and i think this is why men miss the point. did these women marry the hotest men alive? no. not by a long shot but TO THEM they feel like they did.

It’s a crabs in a bucket mentality and they can’t stand seeing other people happy. Some examples I’ve seen is when a short guy gets married and finds a girl who loves him, some guys will say “she settled for him while being ran thru by chads”. No different is some femcels unfollowing their favorite women influencers after they post their husbands or boyfriends or after they make a post announcing their pregnancy cuz “having a boyfriend is embarrassing” now apparently. Truth is misery loves company and miserable people love keeping other people miserable. That’s pretty much it. A lot of incel forums also function like this, and they keep its users engaged in a negative cycle of self fulfilling prophecies instead of being happy for other people when they accomplish something.

Call me jaded but I genuinely don’t believe half of the girls here who say they are married are actually telling the truth. I can’t wrap my head around normal women hanging around this sub let alone a woman who’s actually married.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a good number of them are mentally ill living with family but play up their good life to trigger some of the dudes. I’d probably do the same because a lot of the men here aint shit anyway.

I'm not sure what the logical fallacy that would count as but it feels like an appeal to authority and then a falsified one at that.

Like if I think all the scientists are lying about global warming, it doesn't matter to me that you appeal to them to prove your point because I believe they would lie. Its in their interest. It makes the argument and makes them look good.

It’s probably if you posted that you slept around, made your husband wait or something to that effect that shows you settled for him and weren’t really attracted to him! Worst would be you had a FWB while making your husband wait but really only the most toxic feminists would do this. This is generally only true for older modern women that let their husbands past 30. Downvoting is basically for the gaslighting “I love my husband” when you really don’t.

If you met young, hadn’t slept around a lot and can still pair bond and had genuinely burning desire (you liked him when he had nothing) then it’s real love and you clearly do.

I really think the core hive mind of this sub is chronically online, red/blue pill brained, and can’t really conceive of a truly “happy” relationship, since they often think so little of the opposite sex.

I think for them, a “happy” relationship is one of two scenarios:

where both partners are never truly happy and each cynically sacrifice part of their own humanity as a man/woman to fulfill societal standards of what a happy relationship should be, or
it’s an imbalanced relationship where one of the two is getting used and just doesn’t realize or respect themselves enough to care.

I can say for myself, I don't downvote because I want people to be happily married so I won't do anything to stop that, but I do cringe at any talk about money and job proffession, becuase it just reminds me that 'that is all women want, they don't want love'. I don't feel its true always but often 'happily married' with 'why' gets tied in with 'because he has a house' etc. It generates the thought in my mind that that is what the world is about, so its an ick feeling, and does the opposite, makes me question why do men marry if they are only happy if you have assets etc? Where's the woman who doesn't care about all that and just wants to be with the man and his company? They do exist btw, but I seldom hear about it, or not as much as I wish I did.

Still, being married happily is a good thing by itself, I'd wish everyone was married eventually was able to find someone, but we know the world enough that its not a thing either.
