Here’s the thing. On some level, you understand the sentiment on the surface. I’m not getting laid but serial killers are! The idea that people who aren’t getting something they really want can’t help themsleves from being envious of those who have it, especially when think think those people are far less deserving that they are. I knew a few women our 30s — really good people — who were having a really hard time conceiving and every now and then I’d catch these disparaging remarks about dumb young bitches not using BC and don’t even want the kid, or smoking, drinking and partying and still get pregnant and don’t lose the baby, why do they get knocked up so easily snd take it for granted, etc. so I get it. It’s normal.

Some of these guys take it too far though. Their pain becomes a pair of black colored glasses through which they see the entire world, and it allows them to begin to justify anger, hatred, racism, and sometimes even violence.

It's possible, but I don't need to achieve great things to be happy or be in a good mood. Now I do appreciate your drive, it's people that cannot be happy unless they achieve great things that are the most likely to achieve great things. So I admire that in you. You're more likely to achieve great things and have great potential.

I'm not completely complacent. I do want to be better and generally tries to move up in life. But compared to you, I probably rest more and take the time to enjoy what I have now. I'm less likely to put myself through as much pain to achieve more. I wouldn't be happy if I had no accomplishment either, but the reason I feel the way I am is because I have achieved the level of accomplishment I wanted. I have met or exceed my own expectations for myself, and I have decided to not keep raising the bar on myself. I didn't feel this happy in my early 20's and late teens because I feel like I wasn't where I wanted to be, but now I am.

I have friends like you, always wanting to be better and reach higher and higher. That's great of them, and when you all create something great, I'll give you my money and give you the recognition you deserve like everyone else. But I only have 1 life, and I do want to enjoy it as much as possible. And the cost/benefit of struggling more to achieve more doesn't make sense at this stage for me.

But this place isn't the only place women complain about men, is it? Its all over TikTok, Insta, Twitter, etc. Women are talking about most men. I am positive that I have seen women here talking about like 90% of men in general here, the thing I will concede is that they were probably FDSers. However, FDSers are a growing proportion of the women here, if not the majority already. And FDS for sure talks about the majority of men IRL being horrible. The best example of that being the case here, is that when people say "you could go fuck a guy easily", and the girl will be like "yeah, but the majority of men suck, so it is like eating a shit sandwich" or whatever. Their first thought when thinking of a random man is negative, not positive.

That's probably mate guarding. Like I said, there are obv some guys who want to be considered "one of the good ones". I would figure living in Russia would also be a confounding factor.

I thought you were talking specifically about PPD. There are lots of people complaining about others online. Women complain about men, men complain about women.

I don't think that FDS is the majority of women nor that TRPers are the majority of men. Both of these groups are, in fact, minorities, struggling with dating while the majority of people date without the help of "dating strategies".

Considering casual sex, I think there was a study showing that women usually don't have an orgasm during it. So it makes sense that women don't consider the opportunity to find a casual partner a beneficial one.

Well, he has his reasons to think this way. And I think it's a very common attitude among family-oriented men. They have more experience with men, they know them better. They don't want their close ones to get hurt.

Women here call men losers much more often. Some have had relationships in the past, but are single now, so are somehow losers on PPD for that. I myself am in a relationship, but I don't bring it up often. However, I would agree women don't tend to call other women losers. The female in group bias is strong. What they are much more likely to say is that the men are losers and don't deserve their SO. I've seen that happen here numerous times. You can't try to mirror experiences of the two genders, because they just don't correspond. A good example is the thread about women now having a higher sexless rate. According to most women there, it is because most men are not good enough. While last year in the same thread but with a higher sexless rate for men, the women still believed that it was because most men were not good enough. See a pattern?

All women have hobbies and skills actually

Like I have never met a woman that doesn't have one. Every woman I've known in some form has always been into either some form of fine arts, performing arts, some sport or athletic activity, some nerd niche, a practical skill/talent, some weeb niche, games, literature, politics, had a specialized skill/interest career etc etc

Even the most "female" hobbies like those girls really into makeup/nail art or sewing/knitting or cooking/baking is literally more respectable than the dude who thinks football and craft beer is a personality. At least the girls there are cultivating or producing something.

The girl who sits in bed and watches Netflix and nothing else all day does not exist, she's a manufactured concept by dudes who want to find or make up things to put down women's competency

It's very conceited to think other people are boring in general. I'm sure every single person here knows something I don't, have experienced something I have not, and can teach me something to make me better. Some people just don't want to, or to inhibited to interact with you, or your interest doesn't align, but that doesn't make them inherently boring.

Anytime I thought someone was boring or had no substance, it was because I didn't dig deep enough or I actively didn't want to listen to what they had to say because of the subject matter. One of my friends is almost the polar opposite of me in terms of hobbies, but after I got over the initial eyeroll because I thought her hobbies were lame, what she did was really interesting. Not for me, but still really cool and I'm glad I got to see it because I would never do it.

I find the idea "a child is missing out for not having a dad" rather...curious.

I have a dad and I still think that's a stupid statement. Good parents are needed regardless of quantity and gender.

You're better off with one or two women being good parents than a heterosexual couple being shitty parents. Chris Chan is a good example of a traditional household failing their child.

People who say "Children need fathers" are under a very false impression that heterosexual couples automatically make good parents.

When people bring up single mom statistics, they always forget other factors such as age, income, and socio-economics. A mid-30 middle-class mother in the suburbs will have an easier time raising a child than a teen mom in the hood/trailers.

Edit: I would say the only thing being missed is seeing how relationships work.

I grew up with my mom and dad and they played pretty traditional and expected mom and dad roles.

I think that most of the stuff my dad did, my mom technically can do if my dad wasn't there. So things like take me out to play, provide for me, fix all the stuff around the house, carry stuff for me, teach me how to do all the athletics stuff, help me with homework/ tutor me himself if my teachers were dumb, teach me how to code/build electronics and stuff etc. In fact, when my dad is away for an extended period of time like a business trip, my mom do step in to do some of that stuff. And when my mom is away for a period of time, my dad steps in and do some of the mom stuff.

I think simply having two people around allows them to do what they're good at, and spend more time getting better at the part of parenting they specialized in, and not stretch themselves too thin. It allows for each of them to take breaks if they need it.

I think the value of my dad being male is that he's lived through life as a guy, and therefore is able to bring me a certain point of view my mom can't, because she doesn't have first hand experience. My dad is a very easy to access subject matter expert in guys, so I can ask him things about boys and men, and have an answer that comes from someone that also lived the experience of a guy. My mom is very emotionally intelligent and can guess at emotions of men very well, and she's been very helpful giving me dating advice, but my dad just have perspectives that are different and uniquely insightful. My dad also allows me to call bullshit on men that likes to pass their individual qualities onto their sex as a whole, (eg. men's not going to wait that long for sex etc.).

Having a dad that dotes on me also makes it so that I don't really crave male attention that much. I have been almost drowning in male attention growing up. It's normal and expected that guys would like me just as a person. I'm very used to non-romantic and non-sexual affection from men, and I don't think that's rare.

I think all of this is completely possible with an older male guardian or just a mentor / big brother type of figure. It's just that having it as your dad makes it really easy, and I think it being your dad makes that bond more secure. Like I'm not sure if there's anything I can do to push my dad away, not even murder. You can probably have that with another male parental figure you're very close with, but I don't have anyone like that that's comparable to my dad in my life so I can't speak to that.

Do men here really believe it’s actually impossible for a woman to have a high sex drive, and any woman who claims she does must be lying?

I’ve been accused here of lying about me having a high sex drive, and told it’s just not believable unless my husband corroborates it without me present. (Obviously impossible to prove on Reddit.) I just don’t get this, do they really think not even a single woman anywhere could have a high drive? Do they think no women like sex at all, so a claim that not only does one like it, but they want it more than their male partner, is just too far fetched to believe?

I also love the conflicting claims common here that all women are sluts, but also no women like sex. I get accused by redpillers here of being a total slut, but also clearly lying about how I like sex, and both are apparently a terrible flaw of all women…

Sure, depending on your definition of “top tier”. I certainly wouldn’t be l turned on with an obese man or an elderly man or a teenager (which does rule out majority of Americans, so a man is already above average if they aren’t these things), and thus wouldn’t enjoy sex. But men aren’t normally turned on by ugly women, either. Many men here loudly proclaim that men aren’t even turned on by a woman if she’s over 25. So that’s a pretty small range of women considered attractive to men if it’s just women aged 18-25.

Emotional Quotient. All the autists who like trp are lacking that.

The 5 components are,

1) Self-awareness – the ability to know one's emotions, strengths, weaknesses, drives, values and goals and recognize their impact on others while using gut feelings/instincts to guide decisions.

2) Self-regulation – involves controlling or redirecting one's disruptive emotions and impulses and adapting to changing circumstances.

3) Social skill – managing relationships to get along with others.

4) Empathy – considering other people's feelings especially when making decisions

5) Motivation – being aware of what motivates them.

People with high EQ or emotional intelligence rely primarily on their strong System 1 thinking. They are skilled in being about to control one's own and other's emotions. It can easily be Manipulative if done for Selfish reasons.

They tend to prioritize Happiness over the Truth as values. They instinctively know what amount of Lying is optimal and what things need to be hidden.

They can be delusional and lack awareness of their functional motives. So they can maintain good intentions while acting selfishly.

They are able to play the "Game of Life" skillfully, they can fake convincingly, they can even lie to themselves. They can adapt to the Context and change who they are.

EQ is positively correlated with Self-esteem since they are confident in their instinctual judgments.

People with high EQ are able to perform all this due to having a robust Theory of mind.

Hmm hard to measure if it’s better control or easier to control. I think women have better eq, they have wilder emotional swings and lots of practice with regulation. So I still think it’s control. But sure neurotic people struggle more. I personally have a flat emotional curve and it’s not like I have disruptive emotions like depression or sadness hit me often. I am usually happy and content unlike most autists, adhd, etc. but I still struggle with self control and emotional regulation. So yeah I’d disagree with you largely.

Coming to ToM, you should google it. The wiki page is super cool. Most autists here should understand themselves and why they enjoy explicit discussions so much.

It is an important skill to be able to model other people's minds inside our mind.

We need to determine what mental state a person is in at any moment in time based on the contextual cues that they reveal - their facial expression, actions, words, tone of voice, etc.

This ability to be able to accurately predict anyone's response to counterfactual stimuli is crucial to be able to regulate their emotions and form the basis of Emotional Intelligence. It also correlates with Empathy.

People with deficits in this skill might suffer from Autism, ADHD, aphantasia etc.

When you are not neurotypical it is more difficult to develop this skill since most of us use our own minds as a template.

I guess this is the perk of being the strongest gender. We don't allow too many emotionally stunted men to run around like headless chickens unless the said men happen to hold influential positions of power or have the fuck you money.

But women acting like perpetual teenagers are cherished, encouraged and even receive downright support or adoration.

Its socially acceptable for women to act like emotionally stunted teenagers. That's the main difference between men and women today.

Take for example that grown ass woman crying on social media recently. Her date got her an uber and told her to go home because she wore an awful dress for an office opening ceremony or something.

A YouTube channel I like wrote this about how villains (in movies) are made, and it really reminded me of TRP.

The way to create a tragic relatable villain is to take a regular person and push them to the brink. This person finds themself in an extremely unfair and difficult situation. … So unfortunately this person has no pathway to victory with the rules presented to them, and the hero is not going to save them. The hero doesn’t even know they exist.

All our nobodies needed a little more compassion. Our nobodies are given the choice to live the life of endless suffering, die, or save themselves. At this point they choose to take the line of action outside the currently system of rules. If the game is rigged against you, then cheat. With no one to help them, they commit an act that puts them into villainous territory, … When the villain needed the hero, the hero didn’t come. So then the villain chose to save themselves, then the hero comes.

Sure, but you said wine for a reason. Because it costs more. It seemed like your point was that men weren't spending enough money.

I agree that too many dudes take frugality too seriously, and should just go with the flow and be easygoing during nights out. But specifying wine misses the point. Men should just work on being a good hang and funny and chill, and spend minimal time and effort planning where to go and what to buy. Which cuts both ways, don't be obviously cheap or ostentatious.

Just relax. I don't see why so many reddit women hate coffee dates (other than seeing it as demeaning because they feel like they deserve a higher price). Coffee dates have been some of my best, they're super casual and low-key. Perfect for having conversations and getting to know someone without pressure.

I’m honestly surprised. Like this is too much effort to be a troll. So I trust you are being honest with me.

It just goes to show how inaccurate these simple rules are. I’m happy to tell you that your pictures match like 10% with black pill predictions. Black pill deals with looks. The red pill predicts what type of characters are attractive, I don’t know most of the characters you put there. But I’ll give you a detailed analysis of the ones I know a few hours later.

Dauntless Survivor is an artwork for a card for a card game (the other pictures where it's written "Magic: The Gathering" are from the same card game). So apart the artwork (and card effect/flavor text) you have no idea about the man depicted (sure, you could try to use your imagination to fill in a story based on visual cues, but it wouldn't be "canon", just a "fanfic").

There is so much variety in life. We usually tend to "live" inside certain "subcultures" and be mostly aware what's happening in there. We are less aware of what's happening outside our circles (and the media tends to exaggerate things), so our understanding of the "other" tend to be scewed.

Maybe those "black pill rules" are based on the mainstream (or at least what the media makes us believe is the mainstream)? I don't care if something I like is mainstream or not (some people might care, especially during teenage years where they could be bulied for not following the mainstream).

character characteristics

I know Hughes - Full Metal Alchemist - A devoted family man, a total simp for his family, amicable and cheerful, jovial, yep he would be made fun of by red pill guys IMO. They would say this will turn off girls, that women will take him for granted, grow bored of him, etc.

Maybe I am wrong, some trp guy who watched FMAB can butt in. The thing with hughes is that he is not the typical simp, hughes can be serious when the situation requires, he is a soldier, a real "alpha" job, this reminds me of this homemaker mafia. You can be effeminate, simp, and do these "negative" things and still not lose attraction according to trp if you make up in other areas - build muscles, have a deep voice, be brave and confident, be a thug, dangerous, martial arts, etc.

Most guys who like to simp like this are not just going to be loving to their family, they are conflict-averse at work and don't pick dangerous jobs like a soldier. So sadly in real life the people like Hughes struggle to be found desirable. TRP would ideally tell these guys to retain their good aspects and learn to be brave, calm under pressure, realist, decisive and shrewd. But these guys are cowardly, flustered under pressure, idealistic, indecisive. But yeah this is a great insight into the female mind - they want a guy who simps for them and is weak to them and the family but is strong out to the world, able to protect them and take hard decisions.

I don't claim to know for a fact how most women will react to Hughes but for now I plan to find a girl who will value me simping for her.

Art often teaches more about female sexuality than TRP. I liked that pick of yours. I literally only know Jake - Brooklyn 99 other than that. I thought I was cultured but I have not played many games :(

Jake is pretty cool, I only watched a few episodes but he is charming and has game, I think TRP will predict his success.

About looks, the video I linked explains black pill. I mean most of the pics are drawn and artists try to fix ratios in a nice to see way. Real humans are almost always more ugly. I know a guy who just hates modernity, and very successfully used the 'mail order brides' infrastructure to find the perfect wife for him. But dude was a genius, including socially, and incredibly careful. Also, this was like 20 years ago. But he did find a traditional, unspoiled woman (and he didn't mean that sexually).

There's a reason why news outlets put "alleged" in front of what a criminal defendant is alleged to have done. They have to say "allegedly" killed/raped/murdered. Because it's not been proven. An acquittal means HE IS NOT A MURDERER.

Words mean things. If you call someone a murderer, he better actually be one, or you've defamed him.

At a civil trial he'll have the burden of proving he was libeled or slandered.

Sure, if Rittenhouse gets sued for the "Wrongful Death" of the pedophile and domestic abuser he DEFENDED HIMSELF AGAINST, the families of said pedophile and domestic abuser will bear the burden of proving that Rittenhouse is liable.

And Rittenhouse will again be permitted to establish an affirmative defense of self defense. Arguably, the families might be estopped from asserting that Rittenhouse was the aggressor, since the facts have already been decided by one factfinder UNDER A HIGHER STANDARD OF PROOF. You're not a lawyer.

At a civil trial, Rittenhouse has to prove defamation. He would have to prove by a preponderance of the evidence that the defendants said false things about him. Any defendant who called him a murderer will be liable. He is not a murderer. The jury in the criminal trial said he was not guilty of murder. In order for one to be a murderer, you have to be convicted of murder or plead guilty to murder. Since neither of those things happened, an assertion that Kyle Rittenhouse is a murderer is false. As a matter of law, it is false. That fact has been conclusively decided.

All Mr. Rittenhouse has to do to carry his burden of proof is to introduce the defendants' statements into evidence, have them admit they published the statements, and the acquittal itself which is self-authenticating. And then move for a directed verdict at the close of his case and the close of the defense case. I mean, um, what? What are the defendants going to say? What evidence could they POSSIBLY put on to refute that evidence?

EDIT: No one calls OJ a murderer. They just say he was "responsible" for the deaths of Nicole Simpson and "her friend, Ronald Goldman". They CANNOT call OJ a murderer. Because he IS NOT a murderer. He was, however, found liable for the wrongful deaths of Nicole and "her friend, Ronald Goldman". He did kill them. That DOES NOT mean he "murdered" them.

Haha Well, I was kinda being tongue in cheek. I can't fully adjudicate the value of an entire generation, but if you look at what they experienced, one can see why such men might have become a wee bit entitled.

Raised during the most prosperous period in human history, but with no need to sacrifice for it other than some having to go to Vietnam. The men got all the benefits of feminism, with few of the costs. They misguided sexual revolution ended up benefiting them, but they were already advanced enough in their careers at such a prosperous time that female competition didn't really impact most of them. Many got to have all the benefits of traditional gender roles and new ones at the same time.

As I believe Charles Murray once said, if you were a college educated, white, male boomer in North America you pretty much needed 'to have a plan to fail'. And even then, even if you really tried, you still probably couldn't. Hell, even the college degree wasn't that needed. But then these guys forgot how easy they had had it and treated their material success as evidence of superior moral virtue, lecturing others who actually had it much harder.

And the boomers, led by men, were the first total 'me' generation, unwilling to sacrifice anything when it came to reaching their traditionally appointed time to do so. They got to marry younger, and get the sexual access to their wives and women's peak sexuality. But when it came time to flip the script, when men got relatively sexier, they led the charge in trading in their old wives for hotter young things. They didn't retire for a new generation, but used medical advances to retain their power and earnings well past the point any other generation did. And as they aged, they precipitated the greatest intergeneration wealth heist in history, demanding outlandish pensions, medical and old age support, mortgaging the future of their children and grandchildren by racking up huge public debt. Rather than growing old and spending less with a reduced lifestyle, leaving money to children, they were the first to want to spend it all before they died with a super active post-retirement lifestyle.

So yeah, fuck the boomers.

I mean, that just about sums it up.

The only caveat I would add is that the boomer men of other races were even worse, in terms of their behaviour. I can't get into specifics without getting a ban, but suffice to say there is a whole generation of men who were deadbeats who are now trying to weasel their way back into the kids they didn't give a crap about's adult lives as they realize they're dying alone.

I just don't see a replacement birthrate as being inherently desirable or necessary.

The earth was at 2 billion in 1900, and is now at 7.9 billion. If it went back down to 2 billion, I fail to see the crisis. To me it's like, god forbid future generations have cleaner air.

I think the fundamental issue is that men's and women's interests are at odds. Doesn't matter what the dimension is, they're at odds.

In a marriage, men will often indulge their base tendency towards harems (having an affair). This violation of the contract then gives the woman the greenlight to indulge her base tendency towards serial monogamy (ending the marriage).

Men tend to be made happier with kids. Women tend to be made less happy with kids.

Men are happiest and live longest with partners who are quite a bit younger. Women are happiest and live longest when there is no age gap.

And so on, and so forth.

These are issues which are eternal and irreconcilable.

When men advocate for their interests, it comes at women's expense.

Humanity was never meant to be happy, only to survive.

Honestly and respectfully, I just think maybe you are behind the curve on population demographics. It's unclear what the optimal population is, but we are already set to have a massive population decline much sooner than people think. Once at that level, you then need a replacement rate. And it takes time to figure out how to get to a replacement rate, so we'd best start now. By the time we figure it out, we could already be dropping below our ideal population level.

I have to think the genders are more complementary than that in the right environment.

I also think that Women are made happier by children than men, though both need them. To the extent this isn't true now, it's evidence of a fucked up society distorting our natural impulses. Something is seriously fucked up when women want to be mothers less than men want to be fathers, even given women's greater sacrifice.

I agree there are some tensions between men and women's more primal instincts. But they are not unresolvable IMO. At least not between two people who are attracted to one another.

To me, the main worry is just how many men can be sufficiently attractive to women to have the base level of attraction needed to then create a happy coupling with the right society.

Explain why we need more people being born when humans are living longer than ever.

Explain why we need more people being born when the entire reason for birthrate decline is birth control enabling personal choice to opt for fewer or no kids.

It's Occam's Razor. The simplest answer is that you're wrong, and we don't. No offense.

Pronatalists (almost all men) argue that we need more kids simply because it's in their psychological interests to have kids, not because humanity or the earth itself needs more people.

10.9 is a pretty small increase by 2100. And then if trends continue, we could see a precipitous drop. But a lot of the demographers I follow feel that the population implosion could happen much sooner than we think.

Also, it's not just a global issue. The main issue is national, for the developed countries. And it isn't only about total population, but also the dependency ratio.

At any rate, it's a mathematical truism that we eventually need a replacement rate. The question is whether we will need it soon enough to bother worrying about it now, or whether we won't need it until sufficiently far in the future that worrying about it now is pointless because the conditions at that point in the future will be so different that thinking about it now makes no sense.

Anyways, agree to disagree about the birthrate. But I also think the idea that in some innate way women want children less than men is wrong.

I guess here is where we agree to disagree. Social sciences have their value, but my estimation of their worth has always been highly constrained. And I do not feel that modern society represents in any way what actually makes people happiest.

So I still believe that women in general innately desire to be mothers. And that being mothers makes them very happy. Probably moreso than men. But it takes the right society and structure for this to be true.

It is true that our desire to reproduce is hardcoded in sexual desire, not in actually having kids. This was more efficient since without technology, sex always led to kids. But women could also throw away children later if they didn't want them. They didn't, in general. Anyways, this is not an argument anyone can objectively prove, like you can in physics. To me, history, literature, religion etc. all provide as much evidence or more than sociology here. Again, not necessarily talking about how modern people think they feel in the modern social structure. Modern society is all kinds of fucked up when it comes to making us happy.

Fair enough. There could be many reasons why one doesn't do away with kids once you have them, but regret having them in the first place.

Essentially you are painting a picture of a reality that for women, who sacrifice more in reproduction, once we are rich enough that you don't NEED kids for labor, protection, and to provide in retirement, having kids at the rate needed to keep the population steady is essentially a giant prisoner's dilemma. Basically, in such a situation where kids are not existentially needed, most women would be happier net of costs to have no kids, or kids at less than the replacement rate, while letting other women do it, since of course we all need a population in general. And that if men had to sacrifice as much as women, they would feel the same way.

This is such a bleak view of humanity.

This is probably going to sound bad.

I've always wondered what is this BPD magic that people kept talking about. I've only ever met one woman who was diagnosed borderline and I didn't find her particularly enchanting. To her credit, she made huge progress through therapy and psychiatric drugs. But there was never any magic to speak of.

However, I have met several women who did emit an aura. It was like Manic Pixie Dream Girl meets fatal innocence, with haunting, heartbreaking 10,000-megawatt eyes, enough to make me want to start polishing my white armor. The ones I dated had this really intense, submissive sensitivity /sensuality about them during sex. One of them, who used to be friends with me, was aware of it, she called it her "thing."

They weren't BPD. Their specific cocktails of emotional problems varied a bit but they had one thing in common: They had all been sexually abused, including in childhood.

When they told me about it, I tried my best to be as emotionally supportive and reassuring as possible but ngl, it freaked me out and made me feel really bad about having enjoyed the "thing." The girl I was friends with speculated about how abuse can possibly create a "thing," which other abusers then zero in on. If so, that's really fucked up.

Has anyone had the same observation?

However it makes a world of difference if the right person is found who can properly diagnose.

But that's the point, they're not broken. It's like taking a fish out of water and then wondering why they can't walk.

The idea that somehow these people are fundamentally broken and need to be fixed IS why these approaches don't work, because that's not the problem.

Meaningful and purposeful relationships are formed eith small talk and "meaningless" social gatherings.

For women they are, for most men they aren't. You are projecting female relationship dynamics onto men.

Men form small, tight-knit groups of like-minded people, with a shared goal or purpose. Without purpose, most men find relationships meaningless. I know this sounds like heresy to women; but while women can just happily exist, men need a purpose.

This isn't a 'bug', but a feature. It's a defining characteristic of men. It's what allows them, pushes them, to do great things. It can also be problematic when it gets in the way of normal, banal, happiness.

As a matter of record, I would say PUA tended to go well beyond 'putting your best foot forward' type of fakery.

People can't change that easily, and the kind of men using PUA were usually socially awkward and had a harder time upgrading personality flaws than even your average guy. So when you combine this with trying to change a whole menu of things at the same time, you won't get authentic change. Just the appearance of change.

This becomes more explicit as PUA develops. You get explicit advice on how to spoof female attraction heuristics so as to make you seem to be what you are not. This is why women hate PUA. If a man's biggest fear is say raising a child that isn't his own, a woman's is thinking she bagged an 'alpha' and finding out he isn't.

As brutal as female sexual selectivity is, men have to respect a woman's right to choose mates however they want. PUA was primarily fraud.

Reddit will side with the woman more often than the man. It’s just the result of the demographics on Reddit and women’s higher social value. Women just like to pretend this whole site is vehemently anti women because of a few dark corners that are quarantined or banned.

In this story he’s stupid because it’s her lunch break who cares what she does. But maybe she should follow Reddit’s advice and communicate instead of just ignoring the so called agreement she made about her writing career with her husband. If a man had been working on another project during his lunch break that he promised his wife he wouldn’t and was coming home tired and grumpy I’m sure the people wouldn’t be so supportive.

I’d bet money the whole story is fake and doesn’t matter like you mentioned. So who really cares. Good for their imaginary kid that his imaginary college tuition is paid for lol.

You know, I honestly maaaay kinda see the guy's POV a little bit. Maybe his primary concern is the lack of open communication in their marriage: He thought he had made a deal and she changed it unilaterally and secretively.

BUT. I have so many questions though. Why did she feel the need to write it secretly? If I'd been in her shoes, I'd just go to my husband and be like, "Babe I got a fantastic idea for a book, gonna crush it in my lunch hour. I know we had a prior agreement that I'd pause my authoring on the side but I feel I need to do this and it might be great for us financially, too," and my husband would almost 100% have been like, "Sure!" So why the secrecy in the first place? Did she want to surprise the hubby with a book sales? Or was it that she knew he'd be a Donnie Downer about it for no reason and she couldn't be arsed to have a non-argument with him?

I also want to know if he has a point about her being absent in the marriage because she was coming home just exhausted, because she didn't re-charge during the lunch hour. If that were the case, his complaint is also fairly valid.

But if he's just butt hurt because he's hellbent on only focusing on We Had An Agreement then he loses my sympathy.

Eh, I think they are trashing him a bit too hard but I don't really think he's in the right. Like I could see it maybe being something to get mildly bothered by and something he talks to his wife privately about but for him to see it as worth posting a rant online and expecting everyone to take his side is kinda mindboggling to me. I'm not really the most socially adept person but I think I can generally tell what kind of reactions certain things will elicit such that Im not usually surprised by insults I get and even for someone like me I would never post a story like that and genuinely expect sympathetic responses 😅

I guess for it to be a good example of people siding women you'd need to have a second example where the genders were inversed and people still sided with the woman. Otherwise, on its own it doesn't seem like that great of an example.
