I think that where you live, and the social groups you ask, are going to play a major role in how women will respond to past homosexual behavior. If you're in strongly conservative areas it's far more likely to be an issue than if you're in more liberal areas. For example I live in a very liberal area, the vast majority of people I know are very liberal, and I can't think of a single woman I know who would have a problem dating a bisexual guy, or a guy with a history of things like crossdressing. On the contrary, I know several women who are in relationships with men just like that. Two of my friends, a bisexual woman and a guy who regularly crossdresses, just celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary.

There's different things at play here:

- Bi/bicurious women view displays of lesbianism as a heterosexual mating strategy. They know straight men are turned on by it.

I can't relate. I'm bisexual, one of my roommates is bisexual. We go to drag shows together, I watch him perform and hug him afterwards. I socialize with the beautiful queens, I'm open to dating trans nonbinary etc folks, I dance at the gay clubs and I dance with the ladies. I can't imagine a guy that's been with guys would upset me, they're some of my favorite artists and I throw them dollar bills every time I come to a show and I lip sync with them and cheer them on. I'd feel really special if a drag queen liked me or a generally LGBT or gender nonconforming guy because men that defy heteronormativity tend be just really fun and interesting people. But I live in a very loving LGBT celebrating household with two guys who make my world. We're a found family.

It's kind of a sticky situation. There is an outcry whenever men shame women for doing stereotypically masculine things, or if they find said woman unattractive. Many women will say that men shouldn't be afraid to do things that are considered feminine or stereotypical to homosexuals, but then only date/have sex with more masculine men. Obviously we can't help who we're attracted to, but if you get turned off by non-masculine guys you probably shouldn't be preaching about these things.
