Interesting. I'm 29. Been single always lol. I think your statement is very, very broad. Plus, not all women who are single ARE looking to get into a relationship. Single doesn't equal looking for a man. It's literally just a relationship status. Granted, obviously at the same time there ARE many single women whom are looking for a man.

Many women are single but they aren’t looking. I’m single, I wouldn’t say I’m avoiding a relationship but I don’t talk to many people outside of family and a couple very close friends. I don’t really do social media or dating apps right now. Unless we met through family or my 2 friends it would be hard for a man to ask me out unless he saw me at the grocery store or gas station. I have no advice, just answering the question.

I'm not single. I meant to take six months off after my last breakup but made it four. Three, if we're being real. This is by far the shortest gap I've ever had between relationships. Last one was two years, before that my memory gets fuzzy but they weren't exactly short. I like being single and prefer to take some time after breakups so those time spans were at least partly by choice.

I've never been celibate for any significant length of time, and I likely never will be. Anyone who wants to date me has to either sweep me tf off my feet or accept that I'm definitely still sleeping with other men/going on dates in the early stages. I've never been dishonest about this and it's never been a problem.

I tried to stay single, but I met my husband when I was 18. Looking at my single friends, though, I got lucky. There are less and less options as you grow older, because most people (at least from those I know) want to be with someone around their age. I don’t know why so many of them (myself included back when I was single) thought there would be better options as you get older.

Single with a good amount of interest but low motivation to pursue at the moment. Got a lot going on in my own life that gives me much more fulfillment. Most men I’ve dated have tried to tear me down or make me be someone I’m not. It’s usually hard to see it happening until I’m out of it. I’m older now, happy with myself, and have found I thrive the most when I don’t have someone telling me all the things I’m supposed to change. I’m not sure why they think it’s their place to tell me who to be. I don’t want to be someone else. I like me. do I have things I could work on, sure. Is it my job to “take care of” you or your sexual wants or whatever? Nope.

I personally have found it’s complicated because early on, the people I’ve dated just liked the packaging so much they would pretty much do or say anything to get my attention/affection, even disingenuous things. I don’t start meeting the real them until about 9 month-year in, so there’s always sunk cost. I have yet to find someone who understood the true meaning of equality and how that would look in a relationship. The men I’ve dated have seen themselves as the arbitrators of reality, and often completely fail to consider mine. They think they decide what counts as a contribution to a relation. Theirs of course, are extra important and I should be grateful. Mine of course, don’t count because x, y, and [insert nonsense here].

I was in a relationship for about a year that ended in 2020. I recently got a message from him about how I had really improved his health, helped him advance his career, and gave him insight on some of his broken family dynamics that had helped him set better boundaries. All things he completely failed to consider while we were together. We broke up because he just WOULDN’T stop doing some shit on Instagram that bothered me. I guess that meant more to him than how I felt. It’s really dumb.

Early 20s and I’ve been in a relationship for the past 2 years. My previous relationship also lasted about 2 years ish. I was single for awhile when I was 21 and it was honestly a really fun experience.

Some men will ask me if I’m single and are not at all phased or deterred when I say I am. Most men are pretty respectful though.

22 F, my last and only "relationship" ended over 4 years ago (arguably there were two "phases" of the same relationship, one from 2/2015 to 5/2016 and one from 10/2017 to 2/2018) and idk whether it even counts because it wasn't sexual or physical.

I haven't actively attempted to find a relationship unless you count attending college parties (which I stopped doing 3 years ago, lost my main social circle and then the pandemic happened and I went on an LOA). I'm worried that if/when I do actively try to get into a relationship guys will just be interested in easy sex because that's happened to me before, so I'm hesitant to try. And of course I can't be concerned with a romantic relationship when I can barely function as a human, so there's that.
