short answer: I’ve been with 2 men (both LTRs) in the last 5 years.

Men, you are not competing with “chads”, you are competing with the still serenity that is my single life. You don’t have to add to it financially, but if you detract from it with stress, jealousy, drama, KIDS who aren’t 1000% wrangled by you on your time, your own serial depression or mental illness (I have struggled with depression and would never not date someone based on this history, or based on history of any mental illness at all….but have it in check!), unfair expectations, financial illiteracy, weird traditional gender roles, etc …… it’s not gonna work. At all.

Ageism aside (as if that’s possible in this sub, lol), if you want a serial monogamist without children, you better be bringing the same at the very minimum. If you want a low “body-count” (such gross terminology) woman in your life, you better be bringing the same. If you want to rock the DINK life, you better be bringing your own contribution! I didn’t claw my way out of generational poverty to hitch myself to a damn project. Get real.

For context, I’m F, late 40s, teen kid, divorced, no interest in re-marrying, no interest in FWB or ONS/hookups at all (though have had plenty of offers aged 22-67).

The man I’m seeing is very similar to me in terms of aspirations/motivation. Before I met him, I dated another guy for over a year, but I ended it over what I saw as incompatibilities that were never going to resolve.

When I’m looking for a relationship, n count matters far less to me than patterns of dating behavior. Guys who do hookups are out, as are the ones who do FWB. The latter are capable of commitment, they just don’t do it, and I am not interested in being a fuck toy or placeholder for someone else.

I look for men who are my own age, with a professional job and financial stability. Not looking for someone to ‘keep’ me, just don’t want another dependent and when my own flies the coop, I want a partner, an equal, to travel with. I have no interest in renovating anything at this stage of life, especially a man. I like men who are fit and take care of their possessions and bodies. Clean, tidy, nicely dressed, smells good, not lazy, can cook, moderately social, financially responsible, but not tight.

Sex is important to me, I wouldn’t be in a relationship with someone I wasn’t sexually compatible with, and so I don’t play waiting games with it, but I also don’t jump straight in. I’m not worried about my own n count due to my age and any man I meet this age who does care about it automatically disqualifies himself from dating me. If I use online dating, I vet heavily so out of 400 guys who swipe on me, I might swipe on 5-10. I’ll chat with 2-3, and maybe meet one. No interest in wasting anyone’s time, especially my own. That’s how I met my current partner and I’m very happy with our relationship in all aspects, including the sex.

It's good you aren't trying to pass judgement here, but what is your intention? Scientific research posits a question to test a hypothesis. A question is asked, and data is collected to determine the validity of the claim. Do you have a hypothesis here? You didn't list any variables besides wanting the number of sexual partners for women, which is so vague and wide ranged that you won't really get any useful information. Thank you for posting this question though because I found a ton of interesting research regarding sexual activity/inactivity among genders due to the curiosity this post and comments piqued in me. I've included links to a bunch of studies that have the data you seek. Or probably seek, since it isn't clear what answer you are trying to find. The bottom link includes 5 year studies regarding promiscuity! The information I found was super interesting in that it was both surprising and unsurprising at the same time.

You didn't list any parameters so if you're trying to find a specific answer you won't get any useful data here. For example, you listed no age range or relationship status. The majority of answers here list 1 (married women) or 0 sexual partners in the last 5 years, but the average would be different depending on age range, relationship status, education and location. There are more potential partners in more densely populated urban areas, and less in rural god-fearing conservative areas. The number of sexual partners of students at a party school like Arizona State would be vastly different than those going to a conservative mormon college like Brigham Young, where sexual activity is "banned".

The answers are different depending on the demographics of the data pool and the question being asked. Contrary to popular belief in this sub, men on average have more sexual partners than women during their lifetime. The only variables where men scored lower than women were men who are in the 18-24 year old age range, and men who are unemployed/working part time. So a man who 18-24 and not financially independent are the least likely to be sexually active, which is also the demographics of incels. Incels are the minority of men though and those making vast claims based on their own experiences do not speak for the general population, and I believe they do more harm than good for the Men's Rights Movement.

For instance, the data shows that men have more sexual partners than women on average. This is only regarding opposite gender sex.
