My aunt did all these things for her only child. Her daughter grew up big, 6 feet tall, strong and athletic, physically healthy and wicked smart. She went off to college to persue her dreams. Made tons of interesting friends. Then eventually decided she was a man or something, got into a fight with her parents about that sort of thing, and went no contact with them. Her mom is in the hospital now.

Tbh you can work hard trying to be the perfect parent. You can also be a decent parent most of the time, but occasionally drop your kid at your mom's house, smoke a huge bowl and go to a sex party. You can even do meth all the time totally fuck up your entire life and have your kids raised by the family at my church that has like 9 foster kids. And honestly, it doesn't always make as much of a difference as people like to imagine it makes.

Yungeen Ace's mom had 12 kids and pretty much wasn't there for him at all and he is a millionaire famous rapper.

A friend and her husband had a daughter a few years ago. People are insisting that they have another child. These people don't know that they're in the process of divorcing because of his legal troubles and alcoholism.

A friend and her partner who have been living together for a while get a lot of pressure from their parents to have a child. She got pregnant, but had to terminate the pregnancy because after paying for childcare and other baby expenses they wouldn't be able to pay rent, and none of them can afford staying home. Her family doesn't know that, but they still pressure her.

Another friend is 38 and been with her partner for more than 5 years. People are constantly giving her lectures about her fertility. This friend has a congenital issue that makes it next to impossible for her to get pregnant and to carry a pregnancy to term.

I find children cute, but I don't remember ever having the desire to have one of my own. I get people telling me to have children or to think more seriously about having children before even asking me if I plan to have them.

Why do so many people like to give unsolicited advice about something so personal without considering the possible circumstances that might be preventing someone from having children?

I was roofied and assaulted last night.

Last night I was out with some friends at a bar, and I was roofied. I don’t remember most of the night, I’m not sure how I got home, and I only have very few vague memories from the night after my first drink.

I went to the ER this morning and had a sexual assault kit performed on me. There was evidence of trauma on my body, and it was pretty clear that I had been assaulted. I do not have any recollection of it, or any idea who did it.

I’m unsure what to do at this point.

Not once does she mention her friends again in this post. It boggles my mind.

I don't know how roofie memory loss works, but if it was the first drink that was drugged, then the circumstances of how she got that drink are also pretty important. Did she buy it herself. Did her friends buy a round? Did some guy buy it? Does she not remember how she got that drink?

Clearly she hasn't talked to her friends about what happened. Understandable due to her shame. But how does she feel about them after this? Also how do we know her friends aren't the ones that roofied her and then set her up with a rapist, in order to knock her down a peg?

Why do so many people believe that a person's IRL friends can tell them why they're not having much success with dating? Sure, it's possible, but so are a lot of other things. There's no guarantee that they'll know. They might have the same blind spots that you have. They might accidentally give you straight up wrong advice. They might not want to hurt your feelings and so avoid telling you what it is even if they know it exactly (this is probably the most likely scenario). What if the thing that is holding you back is something you can't change? What good would it do to tell you the truth?

"Ask your friends why no one wants to date you" is not very helpful.

With all this talk about how men view relationships, it does feel like no matter how few people I have sex with, the man will still consider me “used goods” even if he’s the only one that was using them.

It seems like the ideal dating scenario for men is for women to be helplessly attached to them and for men to be able to trade or abandon women that no longer serve them like Pokémon cards or something. Only then would some men deem things “fair”.

I’ve attempted to look at dating from kens perspective. Try to imagine what it would be like to just be a utility and it kinda hit me that some men view women as a utility, but it’s a utility that they consider to be valuable.

Then, when I take steps to make myself useful beyond potential utility as a wife/mother/sex partner, those qualities are looked down on or ignored by men because now I’ve “wasted what they really wanted” which was my youth.

Something that was already fleeting and momentary.

So now, I’ve lost weight, keep myself looking good and I don’t mind a first meeting being to grab a quick cup of coffee. And the attention and interest from men is there. But now I wonder if every man is just looking at me and calculating how sexually beneficial I will be to him in the long run.

Just some random thoughts I had today.
