Most men don't care about other men's problems too. If you want people to start caring about your problems, start having basic human decency and compassion and you will foster relationships where people care about your problems too.

I will take it a step further. I worked with nurses my entire career. i often heard the constant complaints about bf's and husbands and how they didn't know what they truly wanted, choosing gifts they didn't want, not paying attention to their favorite choices in food, clothing, jewelry HOWEVER all I had to ask was " so what is his favorite food, or color, or show" and guess what, They had NO idea. In most cases they would stutter before throwing back " it doesn't matter he should just know", or " he should want what I want to make me happy".

Most like to throw out the men being lonely but don't realize it isn't centered around relationships and dating but actually being fully dismissed, demonized and made the butt of jokes in our society. We aren't supported but are expected to support everyone around us. No one asks "what does he want?" They just ask "what can he do for me?"

I think the hardest "truth" that hit me from The Rational Male, was that no woman will EVER be able to love me like I want to be loved. That hit different and took me a long time to admit. But has made me be more free and made me know that only I can love myself the way I need to be loved. There is no external validation coming to save me.

I care about my male friends' problems.

I care about my fellow man and woman more generically, which is to say if I see a way to help them that doesn't really cost me very much, I will quickly and happily do it. No one ever got poor sharing and all that.

I'm open to being put out a bit to help men, but it needs to be pretty clear it will help.

That we can agree upon, but I'm also sure there are a few things I could do that would make my mother stop loving me.

But in terms of unconditional love, we aren't loved unconditionally either; nobody is. We're wanted for our looks, bodies, baby-making, child-rearing, and home-making abilities, but that's not the same as being loved, let alone being loved unconditionally.

If you're a conventionally attractive woman, more people will want those things from you, and some aspects of life might be easier for you. If you're ugly, overweight/obese, disabled, you're going to have a rough go of things.

True. Both men and women have a bias towards women and care more about them, feel more empathy for them. Even though this is brutal and terrible for men as individuals (and leads to people utterly ignoring male issues like the vast majority of homeless people being men etc), in a strange darwinian sense this might be a positive to men as a group, and I suspect it's a more accurate explanation than sexism in most cases for why men are often higher achieving - men are forced from birth to work hard to achieve everything they get and it's known to every man from a young age that no one is going to save them, they're not going to simply choose to marry a rich woman who might come along and take care of them, there will be no DEI program to help them, even when it's careers they're underrepresented in. And so on.

We all need to create value for ourselves in society. Women are absolutely judged based on what they provide, especially beauty and fertility. The 350lb lady on an electric scooter who’s dressed in a mumu and got a cigarette hanging out of her mouth isn’t going to carry much social value. No one cares about her problems. If her life sucks, no one cares or feels sympathy as she scoots by on her cart. Then one day she decides to hit the gym and keep going, she’s lost weight, got healthy, and looks fit. Now her social worth is much different, but she’s had to earn it.

Men of the past knew their wives were in it for the money, status ect. but somewhere along the way we thought bought into women being something they are incapable of being. women are/will be shallow, evil, terrible beings. like men are. Lots of people care about men's problems the issue is societally we have moved away from well... Having friends. People like to yap about how things were better in the 50s with some stepford wife, but what we're missing is the bridge clubs. Bowling leagues. Block parties. Things our grandparents did while married and having kids that gave them a sense of community outside of immediate family and work.

It's this entire subs biggest flaw. The inability to admit the problem most people have is: they lack friends.

The only thing men provide women in a relationship is more work.
