*As a disclaimer, I was a former dating app user until FDS slapped me out of it

  1. This has been said countless times before but HVM are NOT hanging out on dating apps because they are busy out in the real world living their lives.

They are reading, hiking, working on their hobbies or their dissertation, focusing on their careers, jogging- anything but swiping.

Can you really picture them hunched over on the couch swiping left and right searching for women?? You know who's doing that? Lvm's. They're the ones with plenty of time on their hands to lounge about in their filthy apartments swiping on women and trying to find an easy lay.

  1. The few HVM I've come across in my life were genuinely mortified by the idea of creating an online dating profile and turned off by the idea of dating apps in general. They literally reacted with discomfort at the idea. I've also never met an HVM on a dating app either. If you have, congrats on finding a unicorn.

  2. You're carefully selecting the most attractive pictures of yourself and crafting witty bios to post to your profiles in the hopes of getting 'picked'.

Please stop and think about this for a minute. Isn't that peak pickme behavior? Literally any lvm within your filter range has free access to your photos and could even screenshot them to wank to later. Lvm's ranging from 1 to 10 in the looks department all have equal access to you and that's not flattering. You're selling yourself to them in the hopes of getting a right swipe. These men would literally swipe right on a hole in the wall.

  1. By default they've already lost respect for you before they've met you (especially if you met on more hookup-oriented apps like Tinder which is why even at my worst pickme phase I never used Tinder and not into hookups anyway)

You've shown that you're desperate enough to advertise yourself online and accept his probably sub-par date. Don't be fooled if you're taken to a fancy dinner either, I've had Lvm's wine and dine me at truly breath-taking places but were shocked that I didn't want to go home with them as a result.

You're on the losing end of the bargain because you advertised yourself, got 'picked' (even worse if you swiped right on him first because he feels he definitely has you now) and he knows he just has to keep you interested long enough to get in your pants before his mask slips.

  1. When you think of a HVW, how do you picture her? Do you glance over and see dating apps on her phone? Do you picture her swiping through profiles of men all day trying to land dates? Do you think she's actively pursuing a relationship?

No, she's not. She's kicking ass at her career, her free time is spent on her hobbies, she's traveling, spending quality time with her HVW friends, she's working out and taking care of herself, cooking delicious meals for herself and her friends, she's on top of her finances, she's learning, she's out in the real world trying activities that are more likely to have her come across a HVM (although not the reason she's doing them)... Anything but swiping.

Finding a man isn't even in her top 3 goals in life and the idea of that is laughable. Would she like to find a HVM? Sure. Is she desperately waiting to get picked by some random guy online? Hell no. Will she build a beautiful life for herself regardless of whether she eventually runs into an HVM or not? You bet.

For those who deleted and are never going back, feel free to add your reasons.

And for those that still have dating apps on your phone... What are you doing?

Edit: To those defending the apps, truth hurts, I know because I've been that woman in denial before. I'm aware this isn't the post that's going to make you delete your apps and that you have to learn these lessons on your own so good luck. Really not trying to be controversial. If you're already on FDS then it shouldn't come as a shock to you that these apps are full of trash men? Why are you defending them?
