On top of that women's growing financial success and continued progress in the field of IVF and fertility will mean that women will be able to have children pretty much whenever they want and will have the resources to provide for them. You can already see this with sperm banks sharing their info on what kind of donors are most requested.

This is completely at odds with the fact birth rates are tanking and populations are going down. They already have access to this but are not opting for it being a single parent in any real capacity.

Soft harems? It will probably be a thing, it kinda already has become a thing. Polygamy? I don't think any top tier guy will ever want to engage in polygamy, basically legally marry more than one woman. Polygamy only works when there is religion, traditional values and restriction of female sexuality. It might work in the muslim nations, but it doesn't work in the west. A man marrying multiple women will just end up with numerous divorces and will ruin himself. What you'll see is what's happening today, just more overt and wide spread. A top tier guy who has multiple baby mamas and side chicks, but is married to noone. Or a married guy who is married to a woman and has kids with her, while sleeping with side chicks and mistresses on the side(but the mistresses only get scraps and he definitely doesn't want to impregnate them, since that would create friction in his marriage).

Sharing is very much settling. Most people would rather stay single than deal with that shitty arrangement, unless they can see other people too, at which point that's nothing approximating a harem. Some kinds of sperm donors being more popular than others doesn't mean it will grow or be the norm, no idea how you got from A to B there, and raising a child on your own will always be hard even with money and most would rather not. The whole thing sounds like the opposite of fun, those who stay in casual sex culture too long usually just end up lonely and sad.

Jealousy is a fundamental human emotion. The only time you’ll see women being okay with sharing is if it’s casual or they are gold diggers. Women do not want to be married to a guy they have to share unless the motivation is money and they don’t really love him like that. Most women also don’t want to be single moms even if they have the resources to do so. Same goes for the whole artificial womb discussion. Some things change, but people fundamentally don’t.

For one, the people who are polyamorous are always disgusting, not exactly a great advertisement for the lifestyle. Why would any woman with any self esteem do that? It always makes me think those women are pathetic and have no options. And B, the upperclass is still marrying. It's the middle and lower class that aren't, making it higher status to marry. I'll be honest I always considered myself a staunch feminist but I'm engaged now and thinking I'll probably take my husband's last name purely for the status of being married to a wonderful man. Also look at the popularity of Sophia Richie Grange. I think we're going to swing back to women wanting either commitment or bust.

This is a likely outcome of current trends, and there are two possibilities I see that could stop it. One is the "incel uprising" that you mentioned, though it may simply be in the form of shaming becoming acceptable again and providing the social pressure needed as people get fed up with the general rise in degenerate behavior. Alternatively an economic crash that makes it extremely difficult to live independently would result in people pairing up for the sake of housing and paying bills. Throughout history the threat of death by starvation or exposure to the elements was a massive motivator for the formation of family units.

I've asserted that men will split into three factions:

top men sharing most of the women, and it being socially acceptable and espoused by mass media in the form of reality shows, apps to help create soft harems, etc.
a segment of men that just give up. watching society adopt soft harems through media, and what is required to be in one - and realize getting there is not feasible.
men in rural areas growing up with traditional values that will still marry young/conservativ wives.

Women will split into two factions:

women that share the top men and succumb to this "soft harem" trend and openly participate in it. imagine you and your girlfriends hittingn the age of 18, signing up for an app that hooks you up with a proven 'high value man" experience. "omg girl, you need to hang with chet, he's got 4.5 starts on this app, he'll fly you out too - I tried him last month. 9/10".
women that are conservative (rural) that choose to marry young and women that don't want to participate for their own morals.

I don’t think that would happen because of feminists and conservatives. People often underestimate the influence feminism has in keeping some of these things in check. Like I would also argue that feminism is the main reason prostitution remains relatively taboo and in most cases illegal in the US.

On certain issues feminists align with conservatives and together they keep certain social taboos intact. Perhaps if the US became super liberal this could change but idk this hasn’t been the case in Western Europe or Canada and they tend to be a bit more liberal over there

I think an obvious solution would be selective abortion of male fetuses. China already did the reverse, with bad results. But in the West, it would be both culturally desirable and rational to have a daughter not a son, even if you really wanted a son. The only people who would prefer a baby boy would be those who have a good chance of the son being a Chad, who are rich, and can provide their son with education and opportunity.

The way I see it, the more misandrist the pregnant woman is, the more likely she will be to abort a male fetus and try again for a daughter. This trend would deepen until there is such a shortage of boys and men that they became a commodity, it suddenly becomes reasonable to have a son again.

Supposedly, women only find the top 20% of men attractive. What is exactly the point of the remaining 80% being born? It would be far less cruel to just not let them be born in the first place, thus making the lives of the remaining men much better.

I dont think theres much likelihood of a widespread norm of maintaining sexual double standards in relationship agreements. Is future polyamorous setups the women will typically also be free to have additional partners.

I think you will see that the highest quality men will be able to keep multiple female partners who have little or no interest in seeking additional relationships, their relationship agreements will explicitly allow for it. And lower quality men will have to wrestle with their ego and decide if they want a woman enough to share one or improve themselves.

Now that won't completely eliminate the middle group that will gain enough desirable qualities to attract a monogamous partner, but that will be one of multiple options for your romantic life, not the only option.

Relationships are not going to be necessities in the future they are going to be semi luxuries that you have to have put in the work to be able to secure.

Women already share men just not usually at the same time, a woman can date a man from the apps for a short while then they break up and the man finds another woman in the same way while the first one is waiting for couple of months to find another guy from the apps.

It’s great being self-sufficient and only calling men when you want sex/are bored was a mutually beneficial dynamic that kept me focused on building my life without any dusty dude drama and allowed the dude to do like idk whatever.

i think our economies and the whole balance of it, we will see a huge shift, and some kind of decline, i am not buying into the " collapse" everyone is expecting, but i think there will be a lot of changes..... and I am not sure that the trends you extrapolate to the future will all continue like we see atm.

A lot of enterprises are already cutting down " not necessary stuff", buying cheap in asia, and selling expensive in the west works less and less, a lot of bullshitjobs wont survive. Workforce is declining, people being experts in Trades are getting more scarce ( go look for experts on building molds in the West as example, on average over 50 years old)

New technologies will change up the market, Power Balance in the World is shifting. Middleclass ist getting smaller and smaller ....

There are really many things going on, as example I doubt that the " onlyfans -shitshow" will go on forever.

Maybe we get better Holographic Tech, or other inventions inclunding " instant translation" , that will make it easy to connect with the other gender on the whole world...

A lot of this also depends on the whole background, if this " sedated males" are not disponible as backup, this might screw up the whole top guys plays etc.

things on this world tend to balance themselves out, while the pendle swings we see catastrophic things happen ( like Wars) ofc, but in the long run mostly things find some kind of balance.

Umm I think I must have missed something. When I have done a lot of research on the rise of poly, a lot of individuals chose poly due to rising cost of everything, not because they wanted it necessarily, they aren’t upset by being poly but a lot more came at play besides “sex with hot guys.” Due to rise in student loans and child care cost. It is a lot easier to survive with 3 incomes and one stay at home parent, then the traditional model of 1 parent working while one stays at home. So… I bet if we lowered the cost of having education and child care we might see a decline on this as well. Especially since a lot of people still find poly odd. There was a post literally a few days ago on AITA how a guy dumped a girl for her suggestion of trying poly. We can debate all day who is more open to poly, but at the end of the day most everyone wants to know they can depend on that one person being there for them. nothing wrong with it, the whole narrative that nobody was designed to be monogamous is lie, men and women desire a partner they know can be there in the long haul. So even if it becomes destigmatized human nature is not going to change.
