I’m gonna go against the grain—I used to cheat nearly every single relationship back when I first became active in relationships. (Probably around ages 17-22). I genuinely had no concept of how much it hurt others because I reasoned that their pain could never amount to my personal pain (lost very close family in that time period), so I felt it was justified back then.

I never considered how much it fucked up me, my exes, or even my friendships. I was addicted to the validation, my newfound luck with women, and getting “back” at women as a whole—due to feeling ignored or whatever-zoned way back when. There was an incident in which my ex heard the entire thing over phone. It was fucked. All of it was fucked.

I genuinely had such little empathy as a young adult. I felt hurt by the world and made excuses. I haven’t cheated in a very long time and I honestly wish I could tell the younger version of me that sex or validation from random girls alone isn’t what makes you a man of substance.

Cheated twice on my college gf. Didn’t really take relationships seriously back then.

That person who "betrayed you" isn't a bad person but an instrument of destiny. The key is to learn and grow from the experience and become a better person. Same for if you hurt someone. You were a instrument of destiny to aid them on their life's journey.

As a result I don't regret any of my past. And I won't judge my partner if/when she cheats/cheated. It's part of what needed to happen and I'd still love her as much as I do now.

Like others have said too, most normal people don't go to strip clubs and pay to have an affair. It's a bit like if you were working at a jail and thinking that all men are criminals because of that. You're not going to catch any of the good ones where you're working. If you were working at a daycare and saw dedicated fathers come pick up their kids every week you'd have a very different opinion of men, but that's entirely because of sampling bias, not because men as a whole change depending on where you work. It's just the men you meet at your workplace that change when you change workplace.

I have only been in two relationships, but no I have never cheated. I did struggle and fail with a pornography addiction towards the end of those relationships (the relationship's death spiral is what caused it, and I ended it shortly after), so you might consider that cheating.

Again, the guys you are meeting at strip clubs are definitely not "average" no matter how normal they seem on the outside. You are completely filtering out all of the guys with scruples about visiting such a place, which might outnumber the guys you're seeing 10+ to 1. Who knows the characteristic/cheating likelihood of those guys? Well, certainly not you. Obviously, they're not perfect, but I doubt 70% of them are married and actively putting themselves in highly compromising positions with their spouses. Probably closer to 7%.

I’ve never cheated myself, but I’ve been the guy women cheat with a few times. I wouldn’t have done it if the woman was married, but otherwise I consider it fair game.

What I find really fucked up though is that women that cheat are, at least in my experience, crazier in the sack and willing to do way more than what they’d do with their legitimate significant other. This one girl would rarely give her boyfriend blowjobs, and yet loves getting throat-fucked by me. Boggles my mind how that works.

Before 20, I did cheat. I should have simply ended my relationship but I was too afraid to, so I started falling for another woman and cheated before actually breaking it up. Then once the second relationship fell apart a few years later, I again engaged in sexting with someone right before the relationship ended. It took me a bit to figure out to just end unhappy relationships so that I don’t hurt the other person even more. I would not and have not ever considered cheating in the many years since.

30m 6 meaningful long term relationship where I’d even have the opportunity to cheat, and no I have not. If casual sex was the goal, a relationship is unnecessary. However I have BEEN cheated on and only found out well after the relationship. I don’t think gender really plays too much a role here, and if there is a discrepancy maybe im wrong. But generally I think those who have been hurt, are in relationships to fill a void left in them from deep wounds in early life are typically those who willfully cheat. But what the fuck so I know. Men who can easily get attractive women are very likely to cheat, unless they are bound by a strong moral code against doing so. Biologically, humans are not meant to be monogamous but the church and state pushed monogamy to promote a strong family unit.

Men are more sexually driven than woman and are much more likely to sleep around than woman if they are able too attract mates. Woman on the other hand are less likely to cheat when they love and respect their partner. Usually when a woman cheats it's because they have the opportunity to sleep with a more attractive man as well, but since women also biologically depend on love mating their partner, woman will usually cheat when they don't respect their partner fully, and are convinced they won't be caught. I don't think most men cheat but that's because they usually can't, or don't want to get caught.

I cheated on a girl who treated me with so much care, respect, and affection. I did it because I wasn't fully committed to her....she was cute, but not a bombshell. I was always on the lookout for someone hotter. This girl that I cheated on her with was more attractive. But in the end I got karma. The bombshell went back to her ex, and I got caught and lost my girl. I hate that the expression "you're only as faithful as your options" applies to me. But I'm trying to be better. I have cheated on most of my partners. I don't even feel that bad about it. The cheating was merely physical and the scarcity of remorse is kinda related to the fact that I believe emotional love and physical love(or just plain sex) should be and can be kept separate. As long as I'm not committing emotionally to someone, it shouldn’t matter what I'm doing physically.
