I mean, it seems like people are getting what they want? I have to admit, I've literally never seen a woman complain about not having sex (relationships, sure, never sex). It's always the opposite. Meanwhile sexless men fret about their sexlessness to an unhealthy degree. So it should be expected that men are having more sex and women less.

Assuming the GSS data is displayed accurately and supports the IFS chart, I think it makes sense, especially in the US. Roe v Wade was overturned and while I don't think it made people abstinent long-term there is a growing percentage of people being more careful and selective about partners to make sure they aren't dating someone who would put a bounty on them if they had an ectopic pregnancy et cetera.

We're also still in a pandemic, and while it's much different now than it was three years ago, it's impacted all life. A lot of social areas are defunct and went bankrupt, a lot of social circles are fractured and only in the beginning stages of repair from things like social distancing.

The previous (though dwindling) voices of people like Tate have had an impact as well, though I think more subtle.

Wages continue to stagnate (and paycuts are becoming more common) as housing and basic groceries rise. Many people are more concerned about rent and bills than about getting ready to go out on a Friday night.

Most of the girls I've dated were significantly less attractive than me (Obese vs me being fit for ex). Most of those girls after things between us ended, went on to be single for years after until they found another guy significantly more attractive than themselves, or they settled hard vs their former standards. Years of single and sexless. I've asked them about their dating history, one had 1 boyfriend she had sex with EVER and she was 29, and her relationship lasted 2 years. Another said she hasn't dated in 2 years, and after me went on to not date anyone for 4 years.

For many of these girls on the lower end of attractiveness percentiles, it's really hard for them to get a guy that meets their standards, and they would rather be sexless instead of settling during their 20s, 30s come they usually change their standards.

It's indicative of social malformation, just like the male examples that are constantly discussed in this space, but presenting specific to women. We all know that women can get sex and relationships relatively easily, or at least much easier than men, so the question is why would the sexlessness rate be higher? The only ready explanation is that women simply don't want to socialize with/fuck "average" men at an ever increasing rate. Probably part of this explanation is the decreasing quality of men (fat, low earners, not socially independent etc) but this is also commensurate with a decreasing quality of women; the other part of the explanation being social media influenced hypergamy (higher looks requirements, social status, money etc).

Listening to some youngins talk about what dating is like now is very interesting. 3rd wave coincided with the development of online dating. While it was necessary many women behaved badly simply because the power was there to abuse like a kid in a candy store and it got more and more ridiculous over time. Men, who've for the most part tried to be reasonable were villified for what has been the justification of hypocrisy and sexism. Because you're a part of a group or the institution of, you're guilty by association.

How do men respond to this? Redpill, which was censored, followed by Andrew Tate, mgtow, and the rest. They refuse to do any more than go dutch and refuse to put up with unreasonable women. They've developed "the talking stage" as a possible means to extract sex with no commitment or vetting when dating seriously. People talk about the latter like it's something diabolical, as if they've never seen two friends fall in love.

And it's not right, to stoop to an eye for an eye. It's a self fulfilling prophecy because that attitude permeates your demeanor. It's not even really about the fact it all transpired this way, it's just that. predictable. people taking the path of least resistance and making this mess because...in the story of Pinocchio the boys partied hard on pleasure island and wound up changed into donkeys and shipped off to slave away in salt mines. It is a simple moral of go to school, don't fool around and find out.

It's just so transactional these days. There's no trust because people have become so shallow with social media. The remedy is the thing nobody wants to do. Eventually it'll just autocorrect itself but for people who refuse to see reason they're often the most insecure and wind up the most alone.
