There are a couple of things that don't hold much of the logic. First, it sounds very dishonest and offensive to make someone you see as a potential partner wait for an unlimited period of time. Most guys would be happy to wait and see where things go, but only for a few weeks and not months. People behave in patterns and if they jump quick to bed it is expected to do so even if they decide to commit to a relationship. If a woman who had multiple casual sex in the past decides to wait, it is her full right to do so. But as I said, the majority of guys wouldn't be happy about it because it is a time wasted. Waiting long enough for sex, it means that their date doesn't see them as sexually attractive, and there isn't much of difference to being just friends.

The other issue is that this a common manipulative behavior many women do on men. If a woman has her standarts to wait for sex, good for her. Normally she wouldn't fool around and never break that rule. But given what you wrote, that happens quite often and it is called leading on. A woman finds a dude who sees her as a potential partner. She gives him crumbs and hopes that one day they will have sex, but until then they will remain platonic while the guy has to prove himself. She uses him to pass the time, free lunch, attention and validation, and plenty of other stuff she doesn't recieve from other dudes who are casual with her and don't put much of an effort. Usually it is unexperienced men who fall for this scam. It is the equivalent of men who prey on inexperienced girl to use them for sex and give false hopes on being serious and getting married. That's what men get mad about.

The best way would be that a woman who decides to wait, should give realistic expectations and set a time on how long before sex. No false hopes or mind games using sex as a bait. Then it is up to the man to agree on thaf or not. Not a big of red pill, but I support whe their online community exposes such behavior and manipulations done by women.

Do you think men who engage in hookups often make it clear it will be a hookup? It seems like women often complain that men are unclear with their intentions. I am inclined to think that most hookups are ambiguous, that is at least my experience.

I am not part of the gang who thinks sex immediately is necessary, but I can understand their concern. Their thought is that there must be less raw sexual attraction if an individual engaged in sex with someone immediately with no or ambiguous expectations of commitment but was unwilling to do with the new love interest.

I agree but I think the problem is most women either aren't into hookups or are not up front about wanting that, and a lot of men want just sex. So as a result there's a conflict of wants. Women having trouble finding reliable men who genuinely want an LTR for more than just sex, and men having trouble finding women who just want casual sex. This leads to men trying to get hookups from women who just want an LTR and women trying to get commitment from men who just want sex.

Obviously the key is communication, but both partners should have a discussion on what they're looking for at some point early on, preferably already on the first date or if meeting online, before meeting up irl. You can literally just ask "so what are you looking for?" which is a completely normal first date question, and imo the first thing anyone dating should ask before you even start caring about the other person's personality. I always have this conversation with my potential dates and it does literally solve this problem. It's that easy.

Sure, people can lie, but if the guy says he's looking for both casual sex and serious dating, he's most likely just adding the latter in hopes dating will lead to sex early on. At least that's been my experience.

Another issue is, as several men here have already mentioned, that maybe many women don't show attraction in ways other than having sex. Like I dunno, holding his hand and playing with his fingers, cuddling up close, giving long and tight hugs, kissing, leaning in close to kindly adjust his collar, etc. Or heck even just talking about what kinda sexual stuff you'd like to do with him, which can also be a great way to find out if you're compatible in that department. There are plenty of ways to show attraction without spreading your legs. Sure, there are gonna be some men who don't notice or pick up on such gestures, but I can almost guarantee most men will appreciate and feel desired if a woman does those kinda things early on.

I don't know what other women are doing on dates, but growing up in the early 2000's (I was a teen then) I was taught that it's important to physically show sexual interest in the early dating phase and not just focus on personality compatibility. Showing interest only in the guy's personality is gonna inform him that you just see him as a friend. Obviously there should be a focus on personality and just getting to know each other too though. But I'd take men's word for if a lot of women these days aren't showing any signs like that of being attracted, and if so, I can definitely see that's a problem. I too would reject a potential partner if I wasn't given any signs of sexual attraction. I'd think I was in a business meeting.

It never ceases to amaze me just how much men create their own problems, but then turn around to blame women for them. There are several different problems, and you have actually pointed out only one of them. The problem with lack of honesty. then the hookup and dating scene is so convoluted you get promiscuous people larping as people who want a serious relationship out of manipulation to get their partner second-guessing constantly.
