Most women date and marry men in roughly their own income and class bracket, and will never date or even necessarily have social contacts with anyone who makes seven figures or above.

If you’re wealthy and only date within that world, yeah you’re gonna see more women who are accustomed to wealthy lifestyles. The vast majority of women are not. Most of us are quite aware of “the value of money,” since we have to earn our own income (either independently or to contribute to the household) and have to manage normal non-rich people household finances.

People tend to date at their social class. I could assume (but hey you know what they say about people who assume) some born into a rich elite family women will have less of an idea of what things cost then a Blue Collar women. And they are pretty women in all economic and social classes.

People in general are bad with money. This is normal for men and women of all looks, they're not going to care particularly about the budget details of other people and working out your own is had enough. Of course they'll realise what things cost as they have to buy things themselves. Not only that, but people allocate their money differently, and there may well be people who drive your car but make way less than you but spent a bigger portion of their money on their car. To them, every guy they consider dating is going to be well off enough to eat out regularly, go to events, vacations, drive a nice car etc.

As a woman, I would expect someone I date to be well off enough to eat out sometimes, go to events, vacations and have a car (unless they live in a city where you don't really need a car). But that's because I can afford all those things myself, of course I would want to date someone who can take part in all those things.

Your OP post just sounds like you go for superficial, uneducated women who look attractive to you, and you've extrapolated that to decide that all women are like that. To your first point, at a certain level I think it’s hard for anyone within an average income bracket to appreciate the difference between making millions of dollars a year vs. a few more million dollars a year. It’s tough to visualize that much money.

I like to follow professional sports. A great hockey player makes $10 million a year. A great basketball player can make close to $50 million a year. That’s five times more! But most of the time I’m blinded by commas and zeros to notice or care about the difference. They’re both the same to me.

To your second point, I don’t know what you’re expecting. Do you want women to praise you every five minutes for making a lot of money? Do you want them to see your car and act like you’re giving them the keys to a kingdom? Just because someone isn’t impressed by what you’re impressed by doesn’t mean that they take expensive stuff for granted or expect it from everyone. If you want to see some appreciation, let her know that you remember something she told you three months ago.

I can't tell you how many guys I know feigning status by financing expensive cars just to "look rich" in a "fake it till you make it" fashion, without ever making it. Really dumb financial decisions like leasing cars and going into massive debt. Bankers bankroll it because the guys are young, stupid, and are viewed as a long term income stream via debt slavery and usury. Same problem exists in the housing market and the college tuition market but not as heavily weighted to one gender over another.

I'd say the reason women don't care in these kinds of situations is that they don't have to care. They get to enjoy the yacht without buying it. They get to enjoy the car without buying it. They've never had to think about it, it's an entirely different kind of existence. The price to them isn't a barrier to entry like it is for men since they have the alternate option of just finding the guy with the toys, status, lifestyle they want.

It's not really an act... it's deeper than that, they inherently operate on a level where only men that operate on a certain level have a shot... and they're just proficient at rejecting men that aren't on that certain level.

This lack of exposure to tangible valuation changes later in life for most when male attention declines and their own personal income streams begin to matter. I've dated a few women that had a really hard time learning to budget and were in a rapidly deteriorated financial state after we broke up because they weren't able to recalibrate their standard of living to match their income.

But to say that pretty girls in general don’t is a blatant falsehood, I can think of many counter examples off the top of my head from my own life. Women usually want lifestyle items. Things like clothes, travel, the ability to not work and raise kids from home. A nice and oftentimes quaint or cute house. There's a threshold that is required to achieve this, but it's not making 10 million a year. Making over 200k and you're easily in the green here.

Men tend to aim higher. They want a massive house, multiple properties. They want expensive cars and lots of toys, and lots of money in stocks and all the travel.

If you want them to like you for more than your material goods, then lay low for a while and try establish relationships based on other common grounds. Tbh I’ve been there done that, I have 911 gt3s and bright mclarens, it’s easy mode as I get approached rather than having to approach. This is just the weirdest fucking post. How many of us are hanging out with millionaires? I probably wouldn't know the difference between a guy with a million dollars and another with 10 million because I don't spend time with that bracket of people.

The men and women I do spend time with all know the value of a dollar, because we all bust our asses to earn it. Pretty, ugly, young, old, doesn't matter - we know what things cost.

It sounds like you hang out with rich people. Trust fund babies of either gender are going to just assume people in their social strata just have money because ya do. If their parents don't make them work to afford their privileged lifestyle, of course they're not gonna value what they have.

Historically, women have been in charge of handling shopping for the family. What you’re saying makes no sense. Women are most of and the main consumers in the capitalist mode of production. They know how much stuff costs because they are the main buyers of most stuff.

The reason someone doesn’t know the value of stuff is because they are not working class. Not because they’re women. Or pretty. The only man I’ve ever relied on financially is my dad. And now I support him financially, because he is old. I’m very aware of the price of everything, from rent and utilities, to cars, to food and other more ephemeral goods. And I’m very pretty. I know the value of everything because I have to work to pay for everything in my life. So if you’re hanging out with spoiled women that never had the responsability of buying anything for themselves, you’re hanging out with a very specific type of women from a specific socioeconomic background. You can’t just say all of us are that way.

Personally, as a woman myself, I don't know and don't care how much the average [insert $70k-300k] car would cost a person and likely would need to read the make and model to even know what kind of car it is - I could gain some knowledge in that area, but I don't necessarily care to because I don't find that interesting or impressive.

Women, pretty or not, who have had to support themselves, will know on average what it costs them when they go out, spend time with friends and do the same things you've named. So, while I agree that most women probably wouldn't be able to rattle off the MSRP of a Volvo vs a Ferrari - in regular every day things I think we are fairly realistic in knowing how much it costs. We just don't care.

If someone wants to spend time with me, and has expressed that they do not mind or would prefer to pay the way for that, I'm fine with that.

If they'd rather go dutch, I can usually accurately assume I know what I can and cannot afford in my budget assuming it isn't something I can look up on Google in the case of my not knowing and communicate what I can comfortably spend and decide what we're doing based on that monetary limitation.

I don't usually have an issue getting dinner and drinks but I'm not going to split the bill at a 5 star restaurant where the entrees are $70+ for instance, because I'd rather go somewhere I can more comfortably get a couple drinks, an app, and an entree for under $100.

I have argued on this sub specifically with numerous men who insist women not only look out for, but can tell when a man has a lot of money. That has never been my concern when looking for a partner.

I simply expect that we're both able to drive ourselves to a location and if things get serious, that our combined incomes would be enough to survive on.

I also don't expect to be in a 1 income household and do not want to or plan on being a SAHM, but would if childcare was so expensive that it would be equal to my total yearly salary or more than I would make (assuming he makes more money than I do). And in doing so I would expect that my contribution of full time childcare be seen as equal to the work and value of the money my partner brought home to support us financially. If the genders were reversed, my statement would be the same - and I would act with the intention of acknowledging my partner was putting in to save us potentially upwards of $20k/year in doing so.

Being without an income, to me, would feel like a total loss of agency, freedom, and time.

So no, I don't know what a lot of things cost, because it in is entirely irrelevant to me. You could buy me a $10k diamond ring and I'd have rather had the $500 lab created stone in a nice setting because I don't see the flaunting of wealth as attractive. And I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference because I am not a jeweler, and don't wear much jewelry. But on principal, I don't believe in making unnecessarily high payments for the name brand or because it's known to be expensive.

Your car, wealth, and social status are irrelevant to me (which tbh as someone from a smallish town idk what people even mean by that and often think they conflate social status with their financial status and economic class rather than status in society for career success.) I can't name one person known in my moderately sized community known positively for anything outside that, and that doesn't even make people like them. Some people's names will cause me or others to point out how rich they are or how many properties they own, but that isn't a panty dropper, more like a bit of gossip. I don't know these people or want to know them simply because they are far wealthier than I am when I've heard the bad gossip along with the food.

The only people who are prioritizing things like status and wealth are people who want to be a trad wife and SAHM who doesn't work outside the home, or like happens very often, people who have status and wealth are likely looking for like-minded people in a similar situation and would be more likely to have more core values in common if those values center around financial wealth and drive to increase that status.

If I simply don't like someone's company, no amount of status, money, expensive cars, or extravagant gifts and dates is going toale that person more likeable to me. It certainly is not going to cause me to consider legally binding myself to that person - because I know that those things are not solid things to base a long term intimate relationship on. Also, fame.

If I were interested in someone in the public eye or hypothetically mutually interested in a celebrity - I likely wouldn't pursue that if it meant my sense of peace and personal space, privacy etc would be infringed upon. I told an ex that if he ran for public office our relationship was over, whether it be town representative or president. I would divorce someone before being first lady. Hard pass.

Though, I would like to point out that the women who can't tell the difference have nothing to do with their level of attractiveness and everything to do with what they actually care about. Pretty women aren't just dumb about what things cost - the ones who don't care just don't educate themselves about the cost of things they don't want, for the most part. And in general I'd say more people are more cognizant of what they personally can afford, rather than what they think other people can afford.
