Women don't have to put themselves out there nearly as often as guys do. A woman posts an OLD profile. Her mailbox fills with responses. She takes her profile down while she dates a guy -- or two -- or three. When she's worked through that batch she puts her profile back up -- rinse and repeat. Her profile is only up a few months of every year.

Guys tend to just leave their profiles up. I never took down my 2005 match.com profile. Can't even remember the password now.

There's actually less than you would think. Only about 32% of women ages 18-29 are single, vs 51% of men of the same age range. Women tend to date older (many late 20s women dating early 30s men), so that would account for at least some of the lower % of singleness among women compared to men. After 30 it gets even lower (to 19%) as women start wanting to get married, settle down, and possibly have kids with a stable longterm partner if they haven't already.

And thats not even taking into account how many of said 32% is actually actively looking and available for a heterosexual relationship with a man. Many of those women are lesbian, enjoy being or want to be single, or are asexual. More are probably single for a good reason due to being extremely physically unattractive, overweight/obese, disabled, single mom, diagnosed Cluster B personality disorder, etc.

I don't understand why people think this. There are no single women in the U..S.. Studies show that even though there are an equal number of single women to single men in the U.S.. Most of the single women are older women 65+. These women are also not looking for relationships. The majority of women who men want to date are already in relationships because men want women more than women want men. Women also have an easier time getting into relationships than men do.

My impression is that most female specific hobbies and venues keep different hours than men. Some people are mentioning brunch, but a lot of stuff that's traditionally geared to women also usually involves starting in the morning, or very early afternoon. Meanwhile in my experience most male focused venues tend to open up in the late afternoon through into the night. Meaning by the time a lot of men have gone out to do their thing a lot of women have already gone home for the day. This also generally checks out with data suggesting women get up earlier and usually sleep less even if you control for all other factors.

Keep in mind this is only my answer for where I think women are *physically*. As for if they're single or open to a relationship or approach, couldn't tell you.

They probably have several friends with benefits or options and therefore whilst they are single, simply aren’t looking.

I remember a girl-friend of mine telling me that she broke things off with a guy she found really attractive and was really into and had great chemistry with because it wasn’t good timing for her with work and suchlike.

That luxury for men isn’t there. If we meet a girl who fits all those criteria there’s no way we can turn our noses up at her because she’s come into our lives at a time when pressure at work is high or whatever.

I think it’s cause we only really “see” women when they’re in their 20s. Among single young women, there’s not that many. The attractive ones are already taken and the ones that remain are often aggressively homely.

Often dudes will be hunting for these young women among all ages, so it’s basically a ton of dudes competing for a small slice of single, young, hot women. Which is why it seems like none exist, because they kind of don’t.

Work in some office job, watch period dramas on Netflix, get called by their friends to have brunches and lunches in nice restaurants in the city on the weekend. That’s pretty much their personality or what I found anyway

Probably sitting at home playing games, on their phone and other activities that aren’t very social. Keep their eyes downward or away from your face when out in public running errands. Likely avoidant in general. Bars and clubs require socializing and a willingness to get to know a stranger in a setting they might not be very comfortable with.

Where'd you get this data point from? To answer your question, it's important to know who makes up this 50% of single women. Is it 50% across all ages and demographics?

That's relevant because if it's only 10% single women in their 20's but 60% of single women over the age of 50, then we know the majority of the 50% of single women are likely where the 50 year old single women are - not at schools or bars/clubs.

Also, if a 50 year old woman is single, it's more likely she's a homebody or an introvert or in general harder to access than a single 20+ year old, who likely is single just because she doesn't feel like it yet but is still out there for men to have access to.

I don’t go to bars and clubs in my free time because I have to be on high alert 24/7 to make sure creeps aren’t slipping drugs into my drink or following me. That isn’t fun. So it’s school, studying at home, work, hobbies, volunteering, hanging with family/friends and running errands. Dating is just not a priority right now because it’s such a waste of time.

Honestly...dating apps are creepy. I tend to date men who I meet in person. That goes for online endeavours too. If a guy online will game for hours with me, really enjoy my company even though there is no physical contact, AND hes willing to make plans to meet. Most women are simply not very attractive (70 percent overweight or obese) and are exceptionally socially awkward and easily intimidated as compared to their male counterparts. I think a great way to meet women is by owning a dog. I'm outside with my dog 3h daily, and that's when most of my social interactions take place. The barrier of talking to a stranger is basically gone when one of them has a dog. They are great conversation starters, and if both of you have a dog and go similar routes, you're basically already in her social circle.

The fact is that a single woman is not the same as a single man (speaking about over 30 and heterosexual). A single woman usually has a group of "orbiters" who might not lead to sex and relationship but which are in any case presences in her life, that presence could lead the woman to exit the dating market and simply wait.

We have also to distinguish from single mother and single woman with no child. Usually single mothers are pickier in their choices as they have a reputation and a child to protect, it would be easier to the child's peers to mock him/her if the mother has a not so good behavior.

Let's put in this analogy.

Even if the ratio between bees and flowers were 50/50 it would be easier to see a solitary bee than a solitary flower, because your mind simply filters the solitary flowers (but they exist!)
