What are men good for to today's women? Money/ secutiry/family. No not really.

So what about love? Is it really love or someoen who looks good on instagram and to their friends.

Someone tall, in shape, with a good job andis social.

There was a ted talk where a women talked about online dating and she wrote a long list of things she wanted. Then she wittled it down.

What stayed? At least 6 foot and jewish. What got pruned; things like kindness and honesty.

One aspect seems to be communication. In the 90s and early 2000s, people were generally more welcoming and interactive, re: face to face encounters. We encouraged each other to "go talk to that guy" or "go say hi to her." On a college campus in the early aughts people talked to each other/approached each other way more often...I visited my alma mater about 3 years ago...and people are staring into their phones, no eye contact while walking by others.

Most women won't date men under their earning bracket, and with more women in the work force (a good thing, don't get me wrong) they earn more and thus, naturally reduce their dating options.

The men on top suddenly have an influx of women and the men at the bottom, usually at that age, get less sex.

I have guy friends who are literally dyingggg to have a gf and they’re all decent, hygienic, not hideous. Some of them are have degrees, in grad school or have jobs that make decent money so I don’t think it’s them personally.

People are getting worse at establishing and keeping relationships. Which means that fewer people get sex by finding LTR’s. That’s the reason sexlessness is rising.

The reason sexlessness is higher for men than for women is because the average man wants sex more often than the average woman. On the casual dating market, if Chad wants to sleep with a woman twice as often as the woman wants to sleep with him (random bullshit number, don’t care), he is incentivised to find one more fuckbuddy in order to be sexually satisfied. But the problem is, now 2 women got what they wanted, while only 1 man did. Chad took two women off the dating market, and only one man. Scale this up, and we are left with 50% of men who gets left with no sex.

I'd avoid making vast generalizations and give you some examples of men struggling with dating instead. Mind that I'm from Russia and things are a bit different here. All men I'm talking about don't have much problems with their appearance.

A military kid, lifts etc. The issue is that he has severe communication issues and he was bitter with women as early as 17. One just couldn't hold a proper conversation with him, because he couldn't "get into the rhyme", talking to him always took a lot of energy and left you somewhat confused about the whole experience. He also was emotionally deaf/stupid and he could say the most tactless things with a blank face and he didn't always get that people were just mocking him. Also talked a lot about his exes. But all his "exes" left him after first few dates, because as I've said talking to him was a task. He also could just start complaining about modern women while he was trying to flirt with you. I suspect he has a slight spectrum disorder and has never got the needed help.

Another guy just was utterly depressed and had issues with self-esteem so deep, that even when a girl asked him out, he decided that she was just being nice. Also lots of other problems in life and although it is pretty shitty, but people generally avoid partners who bring more negative stuff than positive into their lives. At least during first dating stages.

I also used to know a guy who used to found modern rather "slutty". He also had communication issues and low social skills. This one ended up stalking me for some time and if what he told me was his general way of flirting, I'm not surprised with him having no dates at all. Stuff like "I want to kidnap you" isn't sexy or anything.

So...among my social circle it's usually about communication issues and a lack of socialization.

I would guess a lot of it has to do with millennials and gen z living with their parents longer, delaying marriage and ltrs (where most people actually have most of their sex) longer, and getting out less (which was inevitable in 2020 but has been an ongoing trend since the early 2000s). The power of getting out and talking to people cannot be overstated, and I say this as an introvert myself. And overall, my generation (younger millennial) is terrible at this.

As for weight, I’m not sure, but it may play a smaller role. More obesity means fewer young people meet a baseline of attractiveness... but you also see lots of fat people in relationships. So I still think most of it is less social interaction and less pursuit of serious relationships.

Entitlement from a recent past (the family they grew up in) where the father and children were doted on by a subservient mother. I grew up in a family where men never did the dishes. If I was a boy it would be a huge shock to get into a relationship and learn that not only am I expected to do 50/50 with dishes, I didn’t get a cookie or a blow job for doing it, it was just expected. I also grew up w a single mom and a female breadwinner so at the same time i never expected a man would take care of me and knew I’d have to figure out life and I’ve had a job and been paying for myself since 13. (I’m an elder millennial latch key type kid, also have ptsd from childhood neglect so 👍👍👍).

Anyway I think men are unpleasant for women to be around a lot of the time bc they are so crude. It’s rare for a man to emotionally connect w me and I stab those men hard and would date any of them that asked bc emotional connection is my #1 relationship need. I get that it’s tough to be a man. I am so thankful it’s at least somewhat allowed for me to be weak and talk about my feelings. I just don’t like how men can be so agressive, pushy, mean, etc and then others gaslight you about it.

I just wish we could all agree not to dehumanize people and try to be patient and respectful (w boundaries).

Also the pics 8/10 men put on social are not optimal ask a female for help. There are subs for that.

I'm older and have some exposure to that age group so my opinion is from a very limited view.

IMO many under 30 somethings are somewhat introverted and their only outlet for dating is OLD, which is a cesspool mostly driven by looks. This cuts most average guys out of the dating scene for a number of reasons.

Going out to meet people is typically a minefield due to how approaching women has changed over the last few decades.

Second thing is they are poor. Under 30's are working just like the generations of the past but businesses just don't pay what they used to compared to cost of living. All signs are the younger generation will not live as much of a financially fruitful life than their parents due to the direction capitalism has moved the country.

The lack of social networks.

It used to be we got introduced to our potential partners by churches, family friends, work etc.

Now people move every few years, change jobs every few years and have very little actual community. Because of this we end up having to meet people through online dating.

women who DO want to date through online dating can easily have sex with a man of she wants. Or she has a higher chance of pairing up with a man because there are more men on old than women and because men are more likely to swipe at the majority of women.

Women who don't date through old aren't dating much either. But theyre also less open to meeting strangers. If they're meeting men it's through social circles. Unfortunately most social networks are insular and don't welcome new people easily. So they will not be getting together with men either. If they absolutely have hig sex drives (above average) they would have found a fwb or will use tinder just for one offs). If they have low - average sex drives they probably just don't care at all. You will be hard pressed to find them outside of their comfort zones.

This means that unless you are really attractive (online dating) or are so cool you get invited to all these new social groups where women hang out a man is less likely to find a woman.

Why it is more single men actively look than single women I'm not sure.

Because we've gotten OLD nowadays, but not for the reason that the manosphere says.

We always had men that didn't want to hang with women. We always had men that were loners. We always had men that didn't have friends that were in a friend group that had men and women. We always had men that... You get the point, men that for some reason or another had very limited access to meeting women of their age that were suitable for dating.

But before OLD, most of those men, would find a way to meet more women when they got desperate. They would force the issue, get out their comfort zone and fight...not for women, just for the ability to meet women.

Nowadays, with OLD, the only thing those men do is create a profile on an app, that BARELY has any women on it compared to how many men there are on. And they create a profile, that's designed to attract men. They have no bio's or a bio that would have been awesome if they were gay. And don't get me started on the pictures I see. Just...

They don't have any female feedback, because they never hung out with women and they spend time on male forums and get advice from other men and they have no idea how to create a profile that appeals to the FEW women that are likely to see that profile and they think it's over. While they never had a chance like that.

And they take the results of that failure as a sign of their inability of dating. And they give up. Before ever having had any sort of socializing with women.

And that's what's different.

Oh and they also feel entitled to equality on the dating front and somethimes try to demand it by refusing to do the male part of dating. Which...is fair actually.

I'm not gonna say that's wrong. It's very fair. That's how it should go.

But...we can't re-write female sexuality atm. It's like women demanding equality on the pregnancy burden. Also fair...but we can't actually make the guy carry the baby. No matter how fair it is.

This is how it currently works. And not participating because it's not equal doesn't make it equal, shit will just go on without you.

When I think of it it really comes down to one thing.

They either can’t understand, refuse or simply accept and don’t adapt for whatever reason that being the expectation that they have to bring something to table to have any kind of relationship with a women.

They don’t understand this. I’m not saying the usual “women hypergamous women bad I hate women” incel shit but homie like cmon, have a sit down and truly name anything that you can bring to the table that isn’t your unconditional love that we know she can get from 80% of the male population in relationship with a women.

A lot has change and people can't still grasp their head around it. For starters, technology. Apps, phones, videogames, entertainment and social media. This is the number one reason. People used to have limited options for entertainment and social engagements but now you have so many other things you can do to get that same connection or pleasure. Yes people get pleasure from technology like porn being accessible, having animated waifus, fandoms and communities that give the same attention and affection as an SO. There are a lot of groups that feel like they have a second family thanks to technology. There is more to this but this is my opinion.

Now other things that have changed is equality and norms. First the good and best one is LGBT+ being accepted in society. This gave more people who liberty instead of conforming to societies old rules. Atheism, Polygamy, Satanism, etc. are more accepted. Think of every taboo back then. Most are not taboo in current times which is great. Now onto the second point and that is religion. Religion was used as the moral compass on how the family was structured. Most religions are based on the monogamous thing and it was always hetero based and it was heavily forced. With atheism and agnostics becoming very prevalent among millenials and zoomers there goes the force structured.

Metoo scared a lot of guys to. There are a lot of guys who are more wary and won't take risk as before. Ruin careers and socially shame like that is worst than being a sexless male.

To be honest I don't see anything wrong with what is happening right now. If people choose to be single and do their own business so what. Males wants to be sexless then so be it. Don't shame them. Applaud them. Let them be.

What is going to make things a bit more interesting is when sexual bots are developed. When that happens more women (who are not into sexual bots) are going to have more trouble finding a male.

Not presenting the best version of themselves when they do leave the house through being overweight, having poor hygiene, or poor fashion sense.
Bad social skills because of mental health issues like anxiety brought on by their unhealthy lifestyle. ADHD, sleep disturbances, and neurosis are not normal and can be eliminated through a healthy diet.
Living with parents.
Less opportunity to meet women IRL in the digital age.
Less ability to approach women because of today’s #MeToo sociological climate.

Some things they can control (and don’t) and some things they can’t control. From my perspective these are the things they can control that keep them sexless

Poor regulation of emotions. this compounds on existing mental health issues. Denial of mental health issues, lack of access to care (systemic), denial that therapy works for those with access all play into this. This can cause ego tantrums and also result in them seeing everything as personal and about them. The world circles around them even if they think they are worthless

Poor regulation of core beliefs. They only see things from their perspective, being unwilling to ever change their minds on anything, believing the worst of others and especially maintaining negative beliefs on women, this all causes an echo chamber in their heads that reinforces their negative beliefs as absolute truth… causing distorted reality

Never leaving the house

Poor social skills. from lack of experience or access, a lack of trying, or unwillingness to learn better skills

Unreasonable expectations of others. Like expecting unconditional love and trust after one date. This cause them to seem entitled or selfish in the eyes of others

Unwillingness to continue with self improvement when they are not rewarded. So you get fit but no one sleeps with you so you go into a rage and give up and spiral emotionally

Lack of fair wages. This is a systemic issue, no one can change that (easily)

Lack of education. Some don’t have access so that’s a bit of a systemic issue

Body shaming and not working with other men to change the culture. Women lead the body positivity movement and most men reject it and don’t participate in this shift of social expectations on their own behalf

I look at my brother and his friends, and my ex’s kid, when I think about this stuff.

All of them are very smart, and spend most of their time playing video games. They have girls in their friend groups, but mostly hang with the boys. When they’re in situations where they’re actually around people, they do pretty well (in terms of interest), but when they hole themselves up they obviously don’t.

I think a lot of these sexless men aren’t the type to be hanging out with friends and drinking or getting high or whatever. They’re at home, usually alone, and not getting out and being social. They tend to be more socially awkward as a result. The inertia is powerful as well - they stay awkward rather than branch out because it’s easier to stay in your comfort zone.

I’m guilty of this too, but staying in your comfort zone isn’t a way to get laid lol.

I think the lack of “drive” that some young men have these days is a bit of a turn off to enterprising young women though. If she’s trying to “boss up” for lack of a better term, the really sweet guy who lives at home and doesn’t work or take classes obviously won’t be able to contribute to that, unless they’re looking for a SAHD, which not many women are.

There are tons of factors, but I think he 2 biggest ones are globalization of the sexual marketplace and male thirst.

Globalization of the sexual marketplace through modern technology has caused everyone to be constantly inundated with gorgeous, rich, talented people with exciting lifestyles through social media, which has caused everyone to develop high/unrealistic standards. So average men and average women don't want each other.

Now this does impact both genders to some degree, but the reason it disproportionately impacts men is because high value men, due to male thirst, are willing to pump and dump average or even below average women now that they can get it so easily through dating apps. This gives said average and below average women an even more inflated sense of their own sexual market value, because they don't understand the male dual mating strategy, and that their true value is better reflected by the quality of men she can get to commit to her than the quality of men she can get to fuck her.

So what you have is something like all men pining over the top 30% of women, and all women pining over the top 10% of men, and both of them refusing to "settle".

The dopamine hits you get from a screen are more reliable than social interactions. This means more people would rather stay at home on their phones or computer rather than go outside and meet new people. Less social interactions = less dating and relationships. Most guys can't get women off pictures alone, so dating apps are a no-go. Most people are more attractive in person, so if you don't have the opportunity to meet new people through social circles, then your chances of meeting someone drop significantly.

Couple that with decent men seeing women complain about men catcalling and coming up to them when they just want to be alone, and that led to most of the good men not approaching women. Those conversations were previously had mostly among women, but are now accessible to all on the internet.

men are smarter than women on average !!! so it's extremely hard for men to communcate with women!! dont jump in and give me that men and women are equal because you will be part of the problem, if you say that you are trying to ignore a reason to why men are having trouble communcating with women !! people always assume that men and women have the same iq on average , mean that there's no intelligence gap between the two but when you read about any iq test you will notice that the test has been constructed to show no difference !! for me i used the data and i notice that men score more points on the arithmetic and abstract department while women score more on the verbal questions!! unfortunately when you average those you will have a close average score and somehow boom no difference and this exist because of some agenda that the marxist trying to push since 1946 exactly !! if you ever talk to a mathematician or an engineer and then switch and speak to a normal person you will feel the difference and it's huge , i think the saying "men are interested in things and women are interested in people" is so true, the most successful dude i personally know is extremely intrested in people and he's pretty attractive so you get your atomic bombe , he's fucking most girls while other guys cant even talk to women!!!

It's not the lack of sex but the feelings of inadequacy and missing out, a by-product of a pornified culture and an increase in the material, professional and sexual success of men at the top. The main source of unhappines in men today is being meassured 24/7 to the men who have it all.

Men are comparing themselves to those who have it all. They have been stripped from their jobs, and now from female company, I know. So it's kind of hard to define what is to be a man in the modern world when all the things that defined men before don't exist now anymore.

Women didn't lose their sense of value (arguably they just gained more) because they are less dependable on men now and on top of that they are still seen as sexual beings, at some extent. They are also the ones who get pregnant so they don't really need to find a suitable partner to start a family, just a willing sperm donor.

Women made their own sexual revolution and did it like they wanted it. Powerful men always had what they wanted so they are not suffering the changes in the modern world.

The ones who are struggling now are men at the bottom and, to some extent, in the middle of the social hierarchy, because they have been stripped basically from their whole identity.

Men need to do their own sexual revolution and free themselves from their traditional roles.

Not saying men need to go full gay, that's the version of the "new man" women propose. I mean men need to stop putting their value and worth on women's and top tier men's hands. Men need to understand the more you want company, affection, sex and all that, the more they are going to feel disatisfied with their lives, because rules have changed now, and the culture and society we live in is going to exploit that need for the benefit of a few.

Monogamy will not be common un a few years, it'll be the exception to the rule, because women are not men's complementary now, the modern woman has become the competition and a new comodity only some men can afford.

Men still base their worth on things they posses, this is the crux of the issue.

You are not sexless compared to your grandpa haha, you are sexless compared to a man that is better than you. Stop beating yourself, it's useless. Do something to become better, find a steady job and start doing things you find joy in doing. You will see how jappy you become.

Well, everyone on the average is overweight now. Both men and women. I will tell you what the problem is and it's the fact that boys are meant to be competitive. When I grew up, a boy being competitive was taught to fail. He learned it from a very young age and in turn learned to try harder until he didn't fail. We even had a saying. "If at first you don't succeed, try and try again. Then along came the concept of participation trophies and the idea that everyone wins. Young men do not know how to fail and don't know how to try harder when they do. They get rejected and sit down to play video games and look at porn. I never allowed my sons to accept these trophies when he was a child. If he won, he got a trophy. If he didn't, he was taught how to be better next time. Strange enough, he isn't a virgin, he isn't sitting at home playing video games and looking at porn.

Besides that, I just read a post that believes fathers are the cause of young women's slutty and dysfunctional behavior once the young woman is grown. So, by default, wouldn't it be the mother's fault that a young man turned out this way?

Personally I’d say it’s because so many men have no life besides being addicted or obsessed with sex. Add to that how so many men have double standards and call women whores for doing just about anything. Way too many men are also complete man-sluts and yet want a woman who is a virgin. Their standards are over the roof while they themselves are basic man-bitches. Way too many men just aren’t attractive and their bland personality and never ending judgement towards women plays a huge role in that. A man who whines about being a virgin or not being able to find women to have sex as often as he wants just screams “I’m desperate and have no personality”.

i think that there is more competition for resources due to an increase in population. people have less time and energy to pursue sex and reproduction.
