Because men are pissed off that some women would rather be alone than form relationships with losers. It never occurred to them that when women had options some of them would decided to focus on themselves, their own development, their own goals. The pop culture meme for decades has been women who are desperate and miserable about being single and an entire industry of coaches, seminars, and books have been targeted at making women think they are defective for not " having " and " keeping" a man as if that is the end piont in their human evolution. Many men WANT women to feel shitty about themselves so they will give in and settle for some disinterested guy who wants them around to suck a dick and make a sandwich and not much more.

Hating FDS, mocking FDS and telling women " be happy with your boxed wine and cats" is all some of them have.

I understand why some men opt out and I would never suggest women are not capable of being horrible, cruel, thoughtless.

If we really wanted people to have healthy relationships that were not simply extensions of behavior from childhood trauma them everybody would get free therapy in young adulthood before they started making major decisions about partners and marriage and who they wanted to be in that process.

A patriarchal based society doesn’t view women as individual humans but as accessories to cater to the male population. The overall subconscious belief is the default manufacturing of society is male and deviation from that is both abnormal, wrong, and a hassle not worth pursuing.

Yes, we have more access to choose than ever before, but it is still common to shun and shame those who dare stray from doing what society expects. Women are not valued for being individuals but for their impact/benefit on male lives.

I was vacillating on how to view the paths my relatives have chosen, trying to reconcile their place in life and mine. But I have to admit ... majority of the women in my family are tradwifey’s / pickme’s and they have made some communal agreement amongst themselves to isolate me as that so-called spinster who can never keep a boyfriend nor have kids.

Meanwhile, since I was 5 years old, I’ve always questioned the value in co-living with a man, and I rarely daydreamed about having that married with children life. All I’ve known is what a hassle it was picking up after and kowtowing to a worthless bum.

I know exactly the time when the trajectory of my upbringing diverted from theirs. When the stepfather came into our (mum and me) lives. I personally don’t need to walk a mile in another person’s shoes to emphasize with the suffering or pain a stranger has endured. It’s always there, like a scab under a fresh wound. I do marvel at how good some people must live their lives. How pervasive the blissful ignorance is for them to be unable to comprehend or empathize with another’s pain. Or hard it must be to just at least have the decency to withhold a bigoted assessment.

I realized I no longer place a lot of value in being included with my relatives, thus why I’ve stopped trying to get involved with their lives. Nor do I regularly monitor their activities. I always have to be pushed to visit social media to chime in congratulating another baby popped out or another person getting engaged after 10 years.

I have learned to love them in a way where I can still be detached but also remain concerned enough. I do just want to see them all happy no matter where they land in life. Raise their kids good, have hope for the next gen and all.

It would’ve been nice if they weren’t dismissive of my presence or regard me as some contagious failure just because I didn’t subscribe to the same path. But I don’t expect much from these men/women since they haven’t tried to get to know me as a person. I’ve been on the outside looking in on them for 20 odd years ... I can read them all like a book yet I’m still a ??? in their eyes.

It took a handful of years but at some point in time, I stopped mourning for that deeper connection that never presented itself. By doing so, it was freeing and I began to really just be at peace with myself. By loving myself first, I could still extend concern and empathy towards them.

So if I can have that kind of ambivalence towards my own family who I all would still take a bullet for each, what more towards a hoard of trolls who spite hate just because I’m living my best life while spitting in the face of the patriarchal hegemony?

Every person who told me I have no value just because I won’t make babies or spread my legs for someone. Every man who abused and felt entitled to my body, my time, my LIFE. I would line them all up and slap them across the face. But even that effort to acknowledge them bores me.

There is nothing more threatening to a misogynist than a woman who’s figured out that she owes him nothing.

If women are not reproducing and bringing in the next generation of taxpayers and workers/believers if you live in a religious society, and doing a ton of unpaid labor that usually comes with being married, then what is their purpose to society (according to most men)?

Do you know that in some countries the rights of women is so curtailed and they are prevented (legally and socially) from working in many jobs and pushed into traditional gender roles so that they can take care of their kids/spouses/extended families so that the state does not have to provide as many social services?

A close friend of mine mentioned she’s in this child-free FB group (she’s a SAHM and college-educated, fwiw), and sent me a post of this mother that had her young son in a dog tunnel in the dog park, so when the other dog park members kindly asked her to remove her son so their dogs can play freely, she took it as them being evil, child-free types!

This woman took a picture of her son in the tunnel with these folks nearby and thought she was making a point posting about these evil people at the dog park.😂

I do kinda hate the cf sub though. Maybe it has changed since I last ventured there, but it was a misogynistic hellhole last time I checked. Pick mes can be childfree, and a lot of women there were just that. When the misogyny is pointed out I only ever saw the defense of it being “just joking” or about a particular kind of mother.

If it was just about living your best childfree life with the occasional rant I would've loved it. But I couldn't get past the constant body shaming and name calling of mothers. That and most of the hate was for mothers than fathers.

Most people on there are just spitting facts and the only people they attack are entitled parents (tells you a lot about why they're so hated, we have an epidemic of poor/lazy parenting, which seeing some of these "relationship advice" thread postings, surprises me not at all). Back to the point, my fiancé basically said they want to live out the life of a 1950's married man without providing like that one.

I disagree that the greatest marketing campaign ever is diamonds, and would argue it's the brainwashing our culture has been given trying to coerce women into going along with very problematic men because "well at least he's funny" or "he's ugly so he'll appreciate you" or "when you help him fix his life he'll be your greatest ally" bs narrative. They've managed to make mainstream the idea that it's acceptable to be mentally unwell (not addressing it), dirty, lazy, aggressive, dominant, and that women simply have to Give Them A Chance™ and sacrifice to fix them. But we aren't therapists. And whenever a pickme never levels and settles with a scrote and has children with said scrote, the cycle can continue. She'll have become so accustomed to this behavior from scrote that she won't do a thing to get herself out of there, and kids will pick up on the dynamic and think it's normal.

The only reason childfree is unpopular is because it trashes over women who are mothers and motherhood in general. That's very anti-feminist, if you asked me. No women should hate on other women because of different lifestyle choices. That's simply hurtful, sad and bitter. I personally can't support childfree (the subreddit) because how toxic it is. I do like and support the actual lifestyle and think it's great. It's the people who follow it that tend to be mean and nihilistic af. Which is not healthy. If you're anti natalist, simply don't be evil to people who are natalist and viceversa.

As for FDS, it is hated because it's inherently feminist. To understand why FDS is hated on so much you simply have to understand that for whoever wants to control a woman, FDS is a detriment to their goals. And that to understand why FDS is hated, ask yourself why is feminism itself is hated. It's a conundrum as old as the bible (Note I said the bible because before it there were numerous prosperous matriarchal society, examples are Minoan Crete, the Celts, and surprisingly enough there is evidence that Sparta was heavily matriarchal despite being militarized) Take into consideration that humans are ever evolving. Until extinction takes places, you can assume most species will try to accommodate for new adaptations. Take for example the hyenas, they evolved to be like that biologically. If you wanted to overthrow the status quo from a biological viewpoint, that's a direct dominance struggle, and one the rival won't want to lose until it's subjugated. As a species, we are socially differentiating ourselves from primates little by little each time more. Of course they won't give up easily. They weren't wired to want to lose.

I think women who want to marry a rich man are included in the categories of women that people hate on. Just because they want someone who can take them on trips to Aspen and Bali while simultaneously treating them with love and respect, doesn't make them a shallow person who only married for money alone. In reality, I've seen women marry HV men who become millionaires in 5-10 years because the men are extremely hard-working and have a clear business plan (seriously, HVM are on a whole other level mentally than most men).

I've seen the fact that women marry up infuriate not only men, but a whole sea of pick-me's. SO MANY women think they are above other women for marrying poor and unambitious men. Especially in Latin America, so many women think they are "saviors" and "anchors" in the lives of men who qualify as being man-children.

Part of it is that single child free women have time to get involved in politics, to run for office, volunteer, support other women who are running, to spread the word, organize and fund raise. And the majority of women tend to be Democrats.

I think a lot of the failure to support mothers in this country is to keep women from being involved in politics.

The childfree sub is hated because it is a mess that is full of childish adults who feel threatened by children. The terms they use like "crotch goblin" and "fuck trophy" are disgusting and unacceptable. They complain about how messy and annoying kids are but they themselves have the mental capacity of a child. It's one thing to be child free it's another to actively dislike children and constantly post about them.

The childfree sub is very misogynistic. Most of the complaints are about "mombies" or "breeders" and complaining about pregnant women. The number of posts about how disgusting a pregnant belly looks is disturbing. Because of basic biology, women are often more obviously parents, and social factors mean that children dominate women's lives more. But the childfree sub doesn't seem to take this into consideration, and levels an unreasonable amount of hate at pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.

Like it or not, pregnancy and childbirth disproportionately affect women's lives. Hate at people travelling with children, whining pregnant women, etc., is just misogyny rebranded. Women can be misogynistic too, and the childfree sub is filled with women talking about how mothers are all demented.

Also, the childfree sub can be really eugenicist. I saw a post about a deaf family saying that deaf people shouldn't reproduce. Another one was shaming a woman for having a baby while her husband had cancer because of his "flawed genes." Or if not eugenicist, it's shaming women for breastfeeding in public places like beaches and parks.

To be clear, I fully support anybody's decision not to have children. Nobody should be forced to undertake the responsibility of parenthood if they don't want to. Also, it's important for the environment and human rights to reduce the number of children born.

But the childfree sub seems to be aimed at complaining about children existing, and pregnant women needing the support of family and society. That is why I personally hate the childfree sub. It is eugenicist and misogynistic, and displays an unreasonable hatred for pregnant women and mothers.

Honestly the amount of misogyny in the child free sub really sets me off sometimes, but Reddit users never care about that part of course. All the comments I see hating on childfree are because the women there refuse to have kids or be free babysitters for their family members, which is something I’ve never seen expected of men.

Just got the permanent snip, I was right next to the nurses station and they still talked shit about me not having kids. Feels great. If I get raped, I won’t have to deal with the reproductive parts of that.

I hear what you’re saying, but if we’re being fair, the childfree sub is INSANELY toxic. Most posts on there call mothers “breeders” and refer to their children as “crotch goblins” and “spawn,” saying things like “you’re not special just because you let a guy jizz in you.” That’s so incredibly degrading, as if mothers only serve one purpose and that is to be an incubator for babies.

If women want to be mothers, that’s their choice. That’s the whole point of the women’s movement: freedom of choice. I hate it when parents or other outsiders dig into childless women asking “when will you have kids?” or “when will you give me grandchildren?” again, as if our only purpose in life is to create children for someone else’s pleasure. But women without children don’t need to tear down mothers. Feminism is about making our OWN choices, not weighing in on someone else’s choices.

Women who don't want kids definitely get hate but I'd hardly compare a cesspool like CF to FDS, or call it one of the most hated subs IMO. What criticism I've seen it get is pretty well deserved, based on the despicable way they talk about children and mothers, especially single mothers. They hate kids like it's a hobby. And that includes men, who also use that sub.

I think they think they sound like progressive advocates for different lifestyles and probably some are, but a lot of them just hate on kids and moms because it's simply easy to.
