Apparently if you ask if a woman is willing to equally participate in dating/courtship you're insinuating that "you trying to paint sex as a consolation prize for the number of dates men pay for? Do you see how the implication of only dating a woman for wanting sex as an end game?"

Hey y'all; situation I could use perspective (especially from the ladies) on.

I've been trying to meet up with this girl for the past week; we hooked about a year ago, but we didn't go all the way because she was on her period. I hit her up again recently, and she seemed like she was down. We made plans to meet up Saturday and watch a movie at my place. Easy basket, right?

So Saturday comes, and about an hour before we're supposed to meet, she says she had a job interview that hired her immediately; reasonable enough. We reschedule for Monday; she says her calendar is free for the afternoon.

Monday comes; I text her about two hours before we're supposed to meet up to confirm we're still on. This time she says she has a doctor's appointment. At this point I'm a bit annoyed, but I tell her that's cool, and ask if she wants to reschedule again, telling her it's fine if there's no space in her schedule. She says she does have time, and sends me a screenshot of her google calendar; I offer some times I have open, and we settle on today (Wednesday) at 2.

I texted her yesterday (Tuesday) to try and confirm our plans, but this time she says she passed out at work and had to go to the hospital, and she would come Wednesday if she was feeling better. I don't know whether this is true or not, but the situation seemed a bit off; she'd tweeted a few times in the past hours. At this point I straight up ask her (in a diplomatic way) if she's interested, and tell her I don't want to keep bothering her if she isn't. She responds with "It's not that...". I liked the message, and told her to let me know today (Wednesday) if she still wanted to hang.

At this point I'm pretty sure she doesn't want to meet up, which is fine- I've got other girls to talk to. But I do wonder why she would be acting like this, especially when I've given her multiple opportunities to walk away with no drama. I feel super bad when I have to cancel on someone, especially on short notice, and I'll generally try to adapt my schedule to fit them in the next day, if not sooner. And while I realize that some people have very crowded schedules, I've seen this chick's google calendar; she isn't all that busy.

Gonna be going to a nightclub tomorrow for the first time in almost 7 years, on thursdays it is special university student day because most don't have classes early on friday. Gonna go with a group of mostly female friends.

According to this guy and his math analysis, my result is 5/10

He also pointed out my best and worst features, and nothing came as a big surprise to me. Some things were things I couldn't determine on my own, but otherwise nothing was crazy.

My best features being: hunter eyes with good eyebrow definition, good face definition/body fat percent, great hair texture and hairline, good facial symmetry, and perfect lips

Worst were mostly jawline-related (mostly in that my chin and jawline aren't projected forward enough). But also a slight case of horse face, bad eyebrow tilt, rounded cheeks (as opposed to defined cheekbones), a broad nose, and a thin neck

Main thing that surprised me was actually the "broad nose" thing, but it wasn't a big surprise, only a slight one.

So now I have even more ground to stand on whenever I mention that the dudes who say that "average" dudes can't get any attraction are full of shit; I'm the very definition of average, and I'm only 5'8. There comes a point where you either gotta acknowledge that you're holding yourself back or not being honest about your looks

For me, the woman needs to be upfront about this timeline and then she needs to be an equal participant in planning/paying for dates. I asked him to wear a condom and he got up and went to the bathroom...and he didn't. It was dark and I wasn't wearing my contacts. He made sure I didn't check before/after. I only realized the next morning when I didn't see a condom in the trash.

We've been (successfully) using condoms + natural family planning for 10 years. We have a 6 month old baby and my period just restarted, so I wanted to be extremely cautious until I enter more months of data into my fertility tracking app.

My brain knows this is sexual assault. I know I should call a therapist so I can talk about it. But it's really hard to see it that way, and to say it out loud. They say almost 1 in 3 women will experience sexual violence, but I never thought it would be me or my husband of 10+ years.

So I had a second date which led to sex. She is admittedly "blunt" and "tells it how it is", and as we were laying in bed she called my career meaningless and dismissively mentioned one of my job duties as if it was nothing special. I then told her that was rude, degrading, she attacked my career, and that I can't be with someone who doesn't respect my career. She immediately tried to backtrack and apologize but I told her she was now just trying to tell me what I wanted to hear and that the truth already came out. She has a PHD and has a high paying career in the medical field and comes from a rich successful family (which means nothing to me). I have a decent upper middle class career and come from a middle class to upper middle class family. Early that night I also think she had a reaction I didn't care for regarding the college I graduated from. After I said my piece I told her I was leaving (was going to spend the night) and she was crying and apologizing the whole time.

I'm a project engineer in the construction industry for a company that oversees and manages all parts of the project from pre-construction to completion. I'm heavily involved in the business and financial side more so than managing people on a jobsite. Don't really need to post my full job description but my next promotion will bring me to six figures.

If she doesn't respect him why was she so upset when he chose to leave?

I'm pretty sure a lot of guys who complain about how women have absolute garbage taste in men fall into either of two categories.

One they like women who are trusting, open, naive, gentle, etc and these women are also preyed on by garbage guys. The same qualities that help women protect themselves against such men turn out to be turn offs.

Two is more interesting... I think a significant minority of men go for women with rock bottom standards, who are people pleasers, who have no boundaries partly because they don't believe they themselves have value. So then they go for a girl who they think will accept them.
