I have seen sooo many married couples where the man is convinced that all he has to do is bring in the money. It was especially prevalent among gen x and boomers. In my own family, both of my parents worked but my mom is the only one who basically did stuff with the kids. This is a shame because it's beneficial for kids to spend time with their dads. I remember that my dad helped me study for two years when I was at elementary school. I was literally top student during those years. He barely did anything outside of that. Almost all of my memories of me doing stuff as a kid was with my mom alone.

I think many men just put so much emphasis on their job (even if it's just a mediocre job) that they don't want to do anything outside of that.
