Honest question here: Why should men get married? To me, it seems like something with a massive risk and very few benefits (maybe taxes?). The cons (and risks) I see are:

  1. Women initiate 80% of divorces, and with no-fault divorce, a woman can cheat on you and still take half your stuff and get alimony.
  2. Women receive the vast majority of alimony and child support, which can financially ruin a man. Those laws also massively favor women.
  3. Prenups can be easily thrown out as a woman can just say she was under duress and the prenup gets thrown out.
  4. Generally, a woman will benefit more financially from a marriage, while a man will get worse financially in a marriage, as women tend to date up, not down, with only rare exceptions.

These are the main ones off the top of my head, but what even are positives for men to get married? I wouldn't count "commitment" due to high divorce rates and it's perfectly legal to cheat on your spouse.
