I don’t think men have a problem with women exploring their options and not settling down, I think the issue is the manipulation that “I want to be a wife, I want to be taken care of, I want to be taken on dates and treated seriously” and then within 2 years of investment given with that objective it’s “oh well I have to try other things to know if this is the best thing for me silly!”. Women don’t want to be open about the fact that they are trying to explore because they desire the treatment they get from men who wish to settle down. Nothing would stop any woman from swiping right and having as many experiences as she wanted. But it is odd as a person to have a 4 year long relationship with the mutual goal to be together indefinitely just for you to “grow and change and see if this is what you wanted” should you be free to do it? Sure. Is it a shitty thing to do? Also yes, especially if you are married. A lot of men hate the idea of being lied to itself(is this really shocking?) and not the actual exploration and freedom. Also this could be an unpopular opinion but having to try 20 other things to know if you like a thing is bullshit and it sounds dumb. If you liked your high school you probably reflect on that favorably without having said “well…. I didn’t go to the others” I didn’t have to be a fan of 10 sports teams to like my sports team, almost everybody likes sex before they have it, I didn’t have to play 20 other games to decide I like the one I played and thought “this is pretty good”. You can develop an understanding of yourself by yourself and know what you like based off of that. Food is probably the only thing that really fits the logic of needing different experiences

But if we’re talking about existing marriage it’s more complicated topic. It’s very common for divorced women who divorced their boring husbands (with no abuse/cheating from husband involved) to date around for some time and later try to come back to their boring ex-husbands. I am boring ex-husband who denied such comeback and literally every boring ex-husband I know had their ex-wife reaching out to them, some accepted offer (and end up in miserable marriage again) some denied.

But my honest answer is that it really depends on your values. That said, statistically speaking, most people who initiate divorces eventually come to regret it. Life is never going to be an endless series of excitements, and you're going to go through periods where your marriage isn't as fun or romantic as it used to be. If your first response to boredom is to divorce or cheat, or if you can't go through a period where the burning passion is a little less intense, then maybe committed monogamous relationships aren't really the thing for you.

If we're just talking about relationships in your early 20s...I mean, sure, you should probably end things before you there's a serious commitment and leaving becomes a much more laborious and painful process, but I don't think there are many women that age choosing the boring guy they're not attracted to in the first place.

There tends to be a big disconnect about what constitutes "boring" in a relationship.

From my experience, boring for women means "refuses to take any interest in Mr outside of our relationship". Women will usually try a hobby the man likes, in order to strengthen the bonds, and to enjoy one another's company.

Most men do not do this. It's a major source of contention sometimes, that couples run out of things to do together outside of caring for the house/children etc.

Well this time I went for the exciting guy that I found hot. Yes it was a lot of fun but problem with that is the fun and excitement kinda runs out when you settle and move in together. Found out we have not much similar hobbies, like yes we game but we play different games. I play rust he plays LoL and Tft. So we have to go on dates to dinner and stuff. Constant effort haha.

The serious arguments and discussion are about the bigger picture. How often is this the case that women are not really attracted to the men they can land for marriage? If this happens a lot, it is a serious problem for the monogamy paradigm. And if this is a problem, is it just female biology finally free to assert itself? And honestly, even with kids, if youre not happy with your partner, a co-parent relationship is better than "sticking it out for the kids". I know kids whose parents tried like that, and they said it was horrible living with two adults who resented eachother.

The real problem here I guess is that social media has inflated our looks/wealth expectations for our partners, so many people including men are naturally attracted to people who are way above their league. I've said before I think most these threads are made by incels trying to purposely send young women on the wrong path just they suffer later on, or it's bitter older women/femcels trying to make sure other women are just as miserable as them.

Do not listen to these people, find your self a nice normal guy that makes you happy. These nice normal guys won't be there for you to pick up the pieces anymore, the internet has made these men far too aware of this strategy.

Well for one as someone who briefly sugared, thousands of men “get bored” with their kind and sweet housewife and instead of leaving, they just cheat as much as they can on her and pay as many college women as they can for sex or arm candy dates.

Men see cheating as noble and divorce is some horrible thing bc “money” (when alimony is almost never rewarded) ….but imo I’d rather divorce and find someone more compatible than to hurt them and cheat.

As someone who processed divorces, getting bored is usually not enough for people to initiate divorce. It may start as boredom but then one person asks for change or excitement or to introduce new things and the other partner just doesn’t care or doesn’t listen. So it’s not really “boredom” but more frustration from a continued pattern of not feeling heard or valued. Feeling like the marriage is not progressing. Usually both parties have been feeling negatively about the relationship for quite some time.

There’s virtually no one I’ve met or seen who woke up one day feeling bored and then decided to divorce like men think. They take a couple years to see what happens once they’re bored and if nothing changes, they figure there’s someone else out there who’d be a better match.
