I eat more calories to get stronger with my weightlifting program.

I am about in the sweet spot for the amount of muscle that the average woman finds attractive. The best thing for me to do to looks max would be to cut all the time to have a more pronounced jaw and angular face (and 6 pack abs, but I suspect the face is more important).

My focus is on strength, not bodybuilding, so I eat more because I like feeling strong, not to get swole for the gym bros.

I have to watch it though. I still want options. I'm pretty lean, around 12% body fat. I know it's a common gripe here that women have high standards for looks and... yeah, if I drift too far away from that Michelangelo's David physique I get much less attention from women. 🤷‍♂️

The thing is, it doesn't matter if most guys don't like heavy makeup, drawn eyebrows, etc. A woman doesn't have to be attractive to most guys. She only needs to be maximally attractive to the guys she wants. The same is true for men, though most here feel too starved for attention to realize it. It IS a gamble, after all.

So what do I do appearance-wise that most women wouldn't like? I paint my nails regularly. I wear eye makeup sometimes for partying. I don't lift weights and prefer to be slim. I wear some items of women's clothing (like tee shirts, which are cut differently than men's) and jewelry.

Most women probably dont like these things. But the ones who like them, LOVE them. So I get approached all the time by the type of women I wanted in the first place and never have to hear the opinions of the ones I didnt.

I don’t particularly care much for building up my vanity muscles or toning that much - my cutting is minimal, and I pretty much base my build around strength first and foremost. Most women prefer a skinny or low body fat type build but eh - I’m doing good with what I have so i’m not really incentivized to act against what i’m enjoying (which basically goes down to lifting a ton and eating whatever i want long as my protein intake is high enough)

My friend along with multiple people would always tell me it's intimidating and a turn off to most women (some find it super cool, sometimes) but ultimately I do it because I find it super fun, not because I'm trying to woo anyone.

I mean... i know that no women will ever find me attractive (especially physically) no matter what, but most of the physically unattractive traits of me are things that i 'get', that i would be willing to change about me should i choose to or that i actually find unattractive on me myself.

But the one thing i do and would keep doing is the way i dress. I like comfortable clothes, simple ones (jeans, t-shirts and/or - monochromatic - sweaters and sneakers when i'm outside, sweatpants and t-shirts when i'm at home), if i had to choose i''d rather wear a size too large than too small and yes, most of my T-Shirts are from various popculture franchises like comics, books or video games. Wear all black clothing and same t-shirt everyday not to stand out mostly, also I like the color. All my friends and family tease me for it but I'll do it as long as I want to.
Getting a bachelors in Aerospace engineering. Maybe it's a redpill lie that women are turned off by nerd engineers and the engineering degrees have a pretty skewed male to female ration but I don't care anyway. I love planes and loooove computers.
Getting into bodybuilding. Everyone keeps telling me that muscles won't make me attractive and I should just do cardio to get lean but I don't really give a shit. I like lifting weights, like bodybuilding style training, and I intend to get swole. I'm determined to train naturally for the next 5 years, and then I'll decide if I'll take roids or not (Probably not since I'm afraid of needles, hate pimples and really like my hair).
My hobbies in general, I get really immersed in fictional worlds like Elder Scrolls, Star Wars, ASOIAF, like reading books, also read girly books and poetry from authors like Sylvia Plath, really love Fleabag which is considered a "girly" show by some people. (Just an example).

In general, I try not to deprive myself from doing things I enjoy because of my attractiveness.

I'm a really simple guy when it comes down to it. I'm big (muscular, but not shredded), I run hot, and I like to be comfortable.

I don't think there is anything men do to themselves that women find unattractive. Everything that women find unattractive about us is either due to a lack of initiative (bad hygiene for example) or a lack of competence (crappy job or shitty home cleaning skills).

But there is nothing that men actively do either to themselves or their surroundings that women complain about.

There is perhaps one thing, but then again, some women like it: Those idiots with the loud cars or bikes. That's one thing some men do but which everyone find stupid and annoying.

Even though I am not interested in relationships these days, I know what does and does not catch my eye. I like natural women. She's attractive, with perhaps a few minor flaws. She might wear a bit of makeup, but she's not putting on a latex mask. Extra points for a touch of nerd-girl. Intelligence is a huge turn on. Social media posts such as "OMG. Check out the lineup at Starbucks! Like REALLY?" yeah. Big turn off. You just sound... dumb.

Any piercings on the lips are a major turn off. A small nose piercing is cute, but that ring between nostrils just doesn't do it for me.

With social media filters, well, just substract 3 SMV points for the person you will see in the morning after sex. She can make herself look like a solid 9 with all this digital trickery. That's why when they say "Men don't put as much effort into their appearance" I just laugh. We don't fake our appearance like women do. That's for sure.

Shaving off eyebrows and painting them on with a broad-tipped marker is hilarious. Maybe 1 in 20 women get this right. The other 19 look like surprised clowns. It's 10x worse than the duckface phenomenon, which some sad people still do.

I saw a woman in the dog part yesterday. My age, married I think. She had sweats on and a vest over a sweater. Hardly any makeup and some lines were showing around her eyes. Touch of grey in her hair. If I was looking for someone to ask out, and she wasn't wearing a ring, I would have been thinking about her.

Natural decent looks. Little makeup. Not adorned with $10K worth of designer crap. No "social media influencer" lifestyle or attitude. Confidence without arrogance. And her dog wasn't an asshole, and if you know anything about dogs and their owners, that's a thing.

If I ever get back into that soul-draining SMP again, that's the women who will show up on my radar. I would be looking for another person to get to know. Not jump through hoops for some social media narcissist.

Then again, I'm not into status much at all, so I naturally repulse these sorts of people.

You whole question really demonstrates more of a lack of understanding of male psychology more than anything else. Men don't think in terms of what will explicitly piss off or make us more unattractive to women and do it to spite the opposite gender as women do.

If I had to guess, the number one thing would be porn and videogames, which are oftentimes just vices for men to embark on escapism, especially if they are unsuccessful in dating.

I'm currently living at home to save money, but I'm also thinking a lot of men are staying at home to save money because it's not going to make a difference in their dating success whether they have their own place or not either (again, we're not thinking about how to spite women, that's entirely a female-specific thing).

Wear rugby shorts. Exclusively. My partner hates it. I was taking our 6 year old to her private tutor last Saturday, and she commented on my appearance. She said I looked like a ‘hobo’. Granted she was right, and I changed. Yet I wear still wear rugby shorts almost all year round. Even in winter. As I find them the most comfortable. Which I think is an important factor.

The other thing I do is train daily. My partner used to worry I’d end up looking like Ronnie Coleman. As I used contemplate getting to that next level, using gear. Which would’ve been divisive attraction wise.

For instance while I do like dressing nicely, if I’m just going out to pick something up at the store I’ll wear an un-ironed hoody and dad jeans. You won’t catch me ever wearing pyjamas or some of the other stupid shit I see other people wearing outside though. I’m always at least minimally put together even if not “stylish” for a short outting.

The other thing is I don’t work out to get a great body as much as I should. This isn’t me choosing to be less attractive though directly. If I could take a pill with no side effects to become ripped and muscular I would.

I question the premise. I think being attractive for the other sex is always inevitably entangled in the reasons why each gender does these things. But sometimes a certain behavior can become miscalibrated with the current preferences of the opposite gender.

Most if not all of the behavior listed by the OP would stop if the women doing it became convinced it made them less attractive to all men. But they don't think that now. They think it directly or indirectly increases their attractiveness somehow.

I was once with a girl and she didnt like that I hit the gym, she didn't like my guns, she didnt like my car, she didnt like the music I listened to. I made those changes. It's like she was never fucking happy. I was on the phone with my mother and she asked me "what has she done for you?" and I didnt have an answer. I asked her for a simple favor. I saw this card thingie that she had for her IDs and I thought it was cool. I asked if she could get me one. It never happened. Not a red flag, but she never even made an attempt? We're riding in my truck because she never has gas, and she calls my truck a "piece of shit". I was done at that point. I went back to wearing the sneakers I like, the clothes I like, listening to the music I like. Any woman that can't get with it can get gone!

- My wardrobe is mostly skater/athleisure. Still clean, new, and fashionable, but I know most women prefer business casual/dressier outfits.

- Some women might not like that I have my ears pierced.

- Lately, I've been rocking a short goatee, whereas going clean-shaven or having a regular full beard would probably have broader appeal with women.

- I wear cologne I like the smell of. But Idk if it's necessarily what women like most or not.

- My right-wing political views are not exactly popular with women my age.

- I play a lot of video games and watch a lot of anime.

Everything that's appearance related I've done for myself is something women would approve of, so it's the last thing I'd be self conscious about.

That'd be more showing off nerdy hobbies right off the gate. Stuff that I typically do with the boys. And the thing is, women don't have to like it themselves, but when they see it's something I'm passionate about and talk about it when the context is set up, it nets more approval than anything else. It's a matter of how you present it really. But I'm doing it for myself so if a woman doesn't like it, I don't really give a flying fuck.

And i think you'll find my answer pretty common.

My "hairstyle", such as it is, consists of me using a 3/8" or 1/4" clipper all over my head. Likely not bad for my face/features but very likely far from ideal. Partially for convenience and laziness (no need to brush my hair), and partly because of my oily hair giving me greater possibility of breakouts on my head when hair is longer.

Since I rarely "go out" anymore, my everyday wardrobe is usually dull and uninspiring, sometimes sloppy, and sometimes obnoxious (t-shirts with sayings). If I do go out, I may or may not dress a bit up for it. The few hobbies/tendencies I have are very unlikely to attract the opposite gender.

It more likely other than dress, jewelry, and hygiene that I "do for myself" that women are likely to find unattractive. When speaking in a casual group I am now less likely to censor myself in either naturally 'perverted' speech, or in things that may be perceived as not "pro woman". If I'm in a certain state of mind, I won't bother severely limiting my staring at T and A being well displayed in public when I know full well I'm not the "target audience" for that - if I get a dirty look she is more often than not getting a "shit eating grin" back.

Generally giving an honest (and not necessarily blunt) opinion if asked by a woman I do for myself. That is very rarely to my advantage. Whether it be just general things, or not feeding her "attention whoring" tendencies, or my unfortunate marital status, or just not overselling myself. Have little to no interest in this seemingly common interest of women in travelling, if social media/dating apps are anything to go by. Similarly with putting in much work to entertain women.

Choose utility over appearance in what I get (car, clothing, computer, etc...)
Choose entertainment or rest over income gaining or utility when I have some holiday or weekend (I prefer to play games or take a nap on a Sunday afternoon. I will not want to get another job for the weekends or go shopping, If I can)

Basically? I like to work for myself, not work in order to get a woman more status, income, or utility.
