I’m a man myself but I have 4 sisters and plenty of other women in my life who I care about, whether that be friends or colleagues or family members or etc.

I always say they should settle for nothing less than the best. Whatever that means to them. And that they are perfectly justified in having preferences including ones related to physical traits or appearances.

I see men constantly complaining, including in this community, about women having too high of standards though. Whether that be in regards to money, alcohol or drug use, height, weight/body type, looks, hair/baldness, porn use, etc etc.

In my opinion every woman should have high standards. I just don’t see how that could be a bad thing. I’m certainly not going to complain myself that a woman should “lower” her standards or adjust her preferences in order to be with me. In what world would that be better? Forcing someone to be attracted to me?

And yes there’s some things out of my control. I’m not the most attractive looks-wise. I’m short. But so what? Is the alternative to shame a woman for not daring to consider me? Am I somehow owed that?

Woman having high standards only encourages men to do better. There’s some things you can’t change and some of us have more obstacles than others to be successful in this world but there’s a lot that you can do. You can work on yourself. You can try to cut out unhealthy habits. And for a lot of people you can commit to school and launching a career. Not to say any of this is easy and again, some people have it harder than others but I don’t think women should have to adjust their standards to accommodate for that.
