He's so cocky; it's disgusting. I used to really like Chris Pratt and his whole demeanor changed and now he's just an arrogant dick. Money definitely doesn't buy happiness or make a man HV. My ex-husband is proof of this. In the beginning of our relationship we were both broke college students. After we both graduated and went into our careers (me social work-not the most lucrative but rewarding to me, and him business/sales-much more lucrative) he was able to "surprise " me with fun vacations, little presents here ane there which I loved, concert tickets, and a life I didn't have growing up. This was so exciting to me at the time and completely blinded me from the BS that was occurring in the relationship (horrible communication, me being the problem, me needing to change, etc). We eventually got married which I was hesitant to do. Fast forward about 6 years in. He's very successful in his career ane his focus is keeping up with the Joneses. His lowest priority was me and our marriage. After doing my own therapy and learning boundaries and gaining self-esteem and much more self-worth that wasn't based on relationships I ended our marriage because I deserved so much more. The trips weren't fun because I didn't want to be there with him. The concerts weren't fun anymore because he didn't want to go and that ruined it for me. I am so much happier and better off single than with someone whose sole priority is to project an image of success. Ladies, we ALL deserve happiness and mutual love and respect in relationships.

I can’t figure out how to add to my post, my bad. I saw this screenshot elsewhere on Reddit but it fits here as a reminder. Some red flags to observe 🚩

-Religion is by men for men.

-Age gap relationship.

-She runs their life yet he is ‘the head of the household’.

-Being rich and successful did not make him act right-he cheated on his ex Anna Faris when they were married with a sick child.

-Her family name and connections made her extra shiny and attractive to him.

-‘Godly men’ love subservient women & being in a position of power or influence in an organisation/church.

-He is very charming and handsome which glosses over a lot of his deep seated beliefs which many would not agree with eg his church is anti LGBTQ+.

-She is ‘pure’ and belongs to him.

-Jokes he might forget to get her a gift for her birthday. If he does he has laid the ground work with a ‘nice guy’ social media post praising her and comparing her to a deck of cards or some sh*t he values.

🚩it is not amusing that he is priming her for no effort on her birthday. That is low level manipulation. The “I’m just joking” 🤡

A. If he doesn’t do anything, “what about that very public post?!” As OP illuminates, this man has resources and still thinks it’s ok to be cheap with effort and money.

B. He will act like a “nice guy”. “Honey, I was joking. Of course, I would never not do anything for your birthday.” But that is literally the opposite of what he publicly said. 💡He is creating anxiety and then positioning himself as the good guy for alleviating a problem he created.💡

This would not feel good to me at all. Reminds me to move in silence and keep relationships off of socials.
