You know what I mean right? Those stories about crimes like homicide and rape that a tiny group of men pull off. It's annoyingly unfair how these actions end up coloring every one of us with the same brush of suspicion. Just because a few guys act horribly doesn't mean the rest of us are in on it.

Okay, I totally get the concern for safety, and I'm not trying to brush off any worries that women have. But let's be real, most of us men would never even think about doing such messed up stuff. We're just trying to live our lives, treating everyone decently and being human.

And you know what else makes me angry? Seeing all that male hate online, even getting as extreme as "kill all men." Seriously, it's exhausting. I'm just trying to exist here, not looking to cause problems. It's like walking on eggshells sometimes, worried that I'm going to get blamed for stuff I would never even consider doing.

This also ripples into the realm of approaching women. The fact that a small group's actions can cast such a long shadow makes it hard, even risky, for many of us to approach women. And it's unfair because we have nothing to do with their choices. This barrier ends up making innocent interactions unnecessarily challenging, creating an environment where even the most well intentioned guys can be seen as creeps and potential rapists/murderers BEFORE they've even said a word.
