The problem is the solution to everything men deals with involves women changing, which is a big feminist no no.

1) Lots of people on the left, especially progressives, say we need to end gender roles. Ending gender roles for men effectively means you can lose your job and still be in a domestic relationship. That kinda involves women changing what they want in a man

2) Telling men to focus on themselves or to "be alone and find yourself!" crap is basically saying to men "do better in capitalism and patriarchy". Also if you do become successful you are contributing to uneven gender ratios and therefor are propping up the patriarchy. I would also argue that being alone and finding yourself crap should be viewed as antithetical to the left, as the left is supposedly more about the group while the right focuses a bit more on the individual.

3) Women just dont deem enough men attractive to end the patriarchy, and the left has a massive obsession with ending it. I dont know how you can really convince younger men otherwise.

They try but it will fail. The left wing would have to admit that feminism isn't for both men and women. It's for women by women. It would be a start if they're just honest about it. The left and feminism has not connected with young men at all. They need to change to an egalitarian approach. Young kids don't understand or comprehend the gendered imbalance across the workforce. They just see that they are ignored while others receive more time and effort.

Don't try to tell me that feminism is for both men and women. I grew up in a hardcore feminist household. I know all about it. It's not the correct approach for younger kids especially under 18. You will not connect with them at all. You end up with a generation of young voters who will absolutely refuse to listen to you. Which is what happened. The only hope is to reconnect with them in the early 30s after they have had real world experience. Some of them will be able to course correct .

Don't respond with the typical "if men aren't being catered to its oppression" nonsense. It just shows you refuse to listen at all. It's okay to admit feminism isn't perfect and things need to change with the current approach.

But the problem the left faces is that they cannot appeal to men without acknowledging that masculinity exists, that masculinity is important, and that masculinity is positive.

And as soon as the left tries to start to explain how and why masculinity is important and positive, they will need disclaim with something to the effect of "but, uh, it's not just for men!! Women can do all of that masculinity just the same as men, if not better!!"

And then we are back to square one - masculinity as it relates specifically to men, in a way that is important and positive is not allowed to exist, for fear of boxing out women.

The only way to avoid this paradox is for the left to embrace sex-realism, but that's not going to happen without a fight.

It's the same situation as with the current, dominant Right.

Not all Right Wingers are racists, nazis and so on, but they're more than willing to amplify the voices of those people or tacitly accept what they're saying/allow/encourage them to say it even if they don't believe it themselves.... just so long as they get to stay in power.

Same amongst the Neoliberals (let's hesitate before trying to paint them as Leftists, and doing the Right Wing's job for it). At this point It doesn’t matter, that ship has sailed. The young men of this generation are awakened to the fact that the gynocentric system is rigged against them and they will rebel against it. Any attempt to appease them will come off as disingenuous and will go to no avail.

I think that they will, but it will be difficult because the appeal of the left wing these days is towards the academically educated and to minority women. There are not many messages any more to less academically educated men, and many of the messages these men might want to hear contradict with messages that the left wing needs to tell the other groups that they support in order to keep their support.

A big part is because the men didn't decide the election. It was highly evident that the majority of men were already set in stone of who they were going to vote for.

The biggest voting block in the 2024 cycle was white women representing 37%. Had Kamala gotten a 52-44 vote in her favor instead of Trump's, she would have won the election. Trump had white men 34% (66-32) and Latino men 6% (64-34). All other categories went heavy towards Kamala.

The one category that Dems had a very strong support in was women's reproductive rights. 52% of white women chose Trump instead.

The young vote was aimed to connection via celebrities. When 20M votes stay home as well as many 18-25, bad sign for the Dems.

There are a few young men who are basically on the rightwing media pipeline before they even start dating or approaching, but for the majority of guys who have ended up right-leaning, the casuation works the other way. Most guys were not rejected because they were conservative or pro-Trump, or pro-McCain, or pro-Romney or pro-Dubya. Instead they became more conservative, more radical and more disillusioned with each rejection. It's the old truism of "I don't hate you because you are fat. You are fat because I hate you."

nobody can really appeal to young men in a realistic way in this civilisation. It would take a massive, massive cultural change, on the level of the Fall of the Roman Empire, or the start of the Industrial Revolution to shake things up enough.

At the very least, we need vast improvements in things like AI to basically smash the economy to bits, which in turn would undo gender roles and social contract, so that it could be started anew , possibly from chaos.

Like it’s some type of worldview that there are oppressors and victims and those who have what resembles power equals oppression that needs to be altered for some equitable outcome.

The problem seems that they have to content with the fact that men have inherent differences and strengths but often times they equate these differences to negative things.

The fact that things like beauty, strength, determination, competitiveness seems to all get pushed towards the right kind of highlights the point I’m making

I don't see it legitimately happening where it is actually a sincere effort and good faith attempt to actually do anything for men other than empty promises for the sake of getting male votes and winning elections.

The issue with the left is they are so down the narrative of both intersectionality and feminism. These ideologies see men as occupying a place of privilege and as a result the left cannot accept any male issues as legitimate because it violates their framework of how they see the world.

Look how many media members talk about this idolization of Kamala Harris husband as if the guy is some kind of hero. The guy who previously cheated on his ex-wife and knocked up the nanny. I actually think there is a way the left could - for one thing, I think some left wing concepts are those men should be supporting - heavy unionization is one example, and worker’s rights as a whole is something more men should be striving for. On top of this, I do think the left should be able to walk a balanced line between promoting the freedom of people to not live by socially constructed norms, while at the same time showing how, for those living within these socially constructed norms, a more centralized, collective-first economy would mean better a family life, as both parents wouldn’t have to work, better education options for children and so on.

There is a masculine side to the left that can and should he tapped into, the challenge is separating the masculine side from the toxic people who claim to speak for masculinity, so i think the left can also benefit from promoting a healthier vision of masculinity as well.

All in all, I think the left should try appealing to young men, while also not alienating everybody else. I think the issue is both the right and left right now think that its young men vs everybody else, while this doesn’t have to be the case nor is there any reason for it to be the case.

Now this is how they could appeal to young men. Whether they actually will? time will tell. There is a clear path, it’s up to them whether they want to take it or not

You’re mixing up leftism with liberalism. Men are and will be attracted to the left for the same reasons that women are: tearing down the ancient regime and creating a fair and equitable society where there’s no wage slaves for billionaires and people aren’t dying because they can’t afford food or medical care. If you want to understand, Engles’ “the origin of family, private property and the state” is how men and women need to work together rather than fighting each other.
