That is some deep internalized-misogyny right there. I will just assume it is written by a woman, because this advice is for women:

YOUR LIFE DO NOT END AT 30! Women are strong, capable and smart. Do not believe in the lies by the patriarchy and STOP BELIVEING you need a man to be happy! It is statistically shown that married women die earlier than single women. Men need marriage so much more than women do. Stop making your life revolve around men. Have you seen men? leaving skidmarks on sheets and not even washing their butts? 🤢

Women need to learn this. Men suck in general.

(however I have strong indications that the OG OP, is a larping "female")

Came here to say this exactly. My life began in my 30s. More earning power, more career advancement, the ability to walk away from anything and anyone that doesn't serve me well, the ability to not give a crap about how men in general assess me, more confidence, etc.

Society tells women they're worthless after their early twenties because they know as women age they stop giving an f And get more powerful i think

[–]Simulated4YouFDS Newbie 22 points23 points24 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Tbh, I'd believe this conspiracy. Most women I know that were able to break free of men's hold are basically the most amazing, inspiring badasses I've ever met.

47 and life has never been better! My boyfriend worships the ground I walk on and I’m so looking forward to a future with him (we are at 9 months and going strong). I had covid and continue to have severe complications from it, have been bedridden for weeks, haven’t showered for days and days and look totally sickly and he has still made me feel beautiful and loved. Do not believe the tired old tropes about women being unloveable and undesirable after a certain age. It’s utter bullshit. You wouldn’t want one of those men anyway. They do not respect women. Make peace with being single, because it is so much better than being with anyone who doesn’t absolutely adore and love you. Relationships are never easy and mine is not perfect, but I feel confident and respected and I will never let any man take that away from me again. Life in our 40s and 50s really is great.

[–]immortallogicFDS Apprentice 16 points17 points18 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Lol I came here to say just this. I only started really living at around 25 tbh.

[–]degnan1214FDS Newbie 9 points10 points11 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I remember when I turned 25 I started to see things more clearly and I was constantly saying, "I'm fed up with this!" It took additional time to break free even more, but the brainwashing that I got as a young girl began to fade at age 25.

[–]pretty_kill 119 points120 points121 points 5 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

It’s very sad. It’s like her entire self worth is based off if some scrotes she doesn’t even know finding her fuckable. (Spoiler: they will fuck you at any age, but ew, who wants that). There are so many more validating, fulfilling, interesting things to life than men’s approval and desire, which will only leave you feeling either insecure or grossed out.

I feel for her because I’ve definitely been in a similar mindset before. It’s basically what you hear on the internet, and even from guys her own age. Some younger guys I encounter when I do multiplayer games act like I’m a grandma lmao I don’t even argue, I think the most I say is “if you take care of yourself, aging isn’t a big deal” Its extra amusing to me because I’m way cuter now than I was ten years ago. Young me did not know how to do her eyebrows, nails, hair, makeup. I eat better and use more skincare products so my skin looks nicer. Meanwhile men start balding as early as 25, and I know for sure almost all of them don’t wash their face or moisturize.

[–]cmil7731FDS Newbie 70 points71 points72 points 5 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Same here sis! And I look around at the men of my age (32) and they are in such a worse state than me! And I live in Australia where the men are apparently babes. They’re not- they’ve got a paunch, are balding, don’t know how to dress for their body shape (materials, cut, etc), are pasty from working desk jobs 24/7, and are just generally looking so much older and less sexy than women my age!

I can’t believe how worried I was about hitting a wall sometime in my 30s. I can now tell it’s a looooong way off 👸🏻 (ie there is no wall for women)

[–]rlcuteFDS Newbie 75 points76 points77 points 5 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

I live in Scandinavia. We are supposed to have attractive men. We do not. After 25 they go downhill so fucking fast. The last time I saw a man whom I thought was absolutely gorgeous was 3 years ago and he turned out to be a 24 year old Cuban.

[–]EmoDreamFDS Newbie 25 points26 points27 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The crazy thing is about the whole thing is most men are unattractive. They don’t take care of themselves or put effort in like women do. Pick me’s don’t care about that they just know that these men value their attractiveness more than the woman’s value as a human being. Most men are ugly especially where I live and I wouldn’t dare talk to an attractive one who thinks he’s cool and listens to rap definitely a no. The music is degenerate and they way they talk about women in those songs is horribly sexist. Even “hot” men are not attractive enough to act like that. I used to think I was a lesbian because I found women more attractive. Turns out I’m straight, but men are just ugly. Wouldn’t worry about aging as a woman just keep taking care of yourself.

[–]sassyheatherPickmeisha™️ 15 points16 points17 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That’s scary. I live in Scandinavia and still think the men around me are one of the most attractive ones. My bf is hands down the most attractive men I’ve seen. His dad, the inspectors in my previous dorm, my uni professors, idk but anytime I see older men I do think they have aged really really well.

[–]rlcuteFDS Newbie 19 points20 points21 points 5 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm a kinsey 5 bisexual so maybe that's why, but 99% of the men I see aren't even a 5/10. Definitely not any of my uni professors. Definitely not any of my coworkers. Maybe if I'm drunk and squint really hard?I live in a capitol so it's not like I don't have a good sample pool either.

That cuban guy is still the most attractive man I have ever seen IRL. On second place is a Turkish guy I met in Turkey. On third place is my ex, who is Belarusian and a spitting image of Alexander Rybak.

BUT. There is also science behind this. Humans prefer people who are genetically different from them. It's to prevent inbreeding and to strengthen the immune system. So since I look like the poster-child scandinavian female, I think scandinavian traits are unattractive.

If they didn't all obsess over beards then maybe they'd be more attractive. And maybe if they didn't insist on having long hair when their widow's peak is about to reach the top point of their head.

Not only are they unattractive but their personality is just "Beard. Microbrewery. Exercise".

I have YET to see any attractive man here who is older than 25. After 25 they get pudgy (jawlines magically disappearing??) and they begin to bald and obsess even more over their beard. And they still don't know how to dress.

[–]getrippeddiemirin 42 points43 points44 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

If it helps I had an Australian roommate for 3 years who I spent that entire time thinking was like 38-40ish. Turns out he turned 34 when I moved out. He was 31 when we moved in together. OOF

And he was all you said, obese, pasty, bald, horrible fuckin tattoos like wow, main hobby was drinking, no close or meaningful friendships, emotional, masturbated with the door open..... just wow. He’d also let his equally emotionally dead friends sleep over in the living room, but then I’d wake up to some surprise male in my space then 9/10 times ended up playing therapist because these poor creatures were just so pathetic and lost. I also found a hole in the wall behind one of my tapestries when I moved out and I literally have no idea how it got there

[–]Inspection-Critical 22 points23 points24 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I was bartending in my 30s and everybody (patrons and coworkers) thought I was in college.

One of my coworkers was a hard drinker. I thought he was 40, easily. Turns out he was 24.

[–]Unlikely-MarzipanRuthless Strategist 28 points29 points30 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Can confirm. Even the “hot” tradies who have six packs and good arms generally have leathery skin from being in the sun all day with no sun screen, premature wrinkling, dried out lips, and just look rough from the drugs and alcohol. I feel like party life is really big in Australia in comparison to other places, but I could be wrong.

[–]shinyrainbowsFDS Newbie 20 points21 points22 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The first part reminded me of my younger teenage self (I’m 19). I wanted sooo bad to be fuckable and cute for these young assholes just so I could get validation and “be loved.” Looking back, those boys had/have nothing I want and it would have been a complete waste of time!!! Growth happens as you really work on yourself❤️ fuck the scrotes

[–]fdssavedmylifeFDS Newbie 91 points92 points93 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I subconsciously believed the same as OP for so long but FDS finally helped me realize: Men are not the prize. Their opinions aren’t inherently valuable. Even if all men stop finding us attractive on our 30th birthdays: so what??? We’re still beautiful, compassionate, kind, and a million other things. Some man’s opinion doesn’t change that. The best reason for worrying about this is fertility, but we’ve all seen the state of modern “fatherhood” — women are likely better off adopting or getting a sperm donor at this point.

[–]Lavender_flowFDS Apprentice 40 points41 points42 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Amen! The amount of vetting and emotional stress you have to go through to get a man is insane. I cant believe I actually had the energy to do it while suffering from PTSD, but somehow I did. If my partner didnt worship the ground I walk on, he would be out the door so fast. If I ever become single again, I dont think I will even bother dating. I found one good egg in a sea of shit, I highly doubt I would ever find another one in this pornsick society we live in. Finding a HVM who have the traits you want, treat you with love and respect and is also pornfree. I Highly doubt I would ever find another like him.

The amount of attention you get from scrotes all the time. Like one hour ago I was out walking and I walked by a high school and these scrote ass teenage kids started banging on the windows for attention. Attention of boys or men any age is USELESS. And I am freaking 30 years old and still have to deal with this shit. Fucking monkeys.

[–]s_slayerFDS STRATEGY COACH 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I feel exactly as you do. I found a rare one. He’s not always easy but he’s kind, loving and adores me. He’s not pornsick and in fact he complained the other day that I don’t look him in the eyes enough during sex. I was so used to my pornsick ex lost in his own world while using me as a human flesh light. My boyfriend truly wants to connect with me. He treats sex as a sacred act of love. After him I don’t want to look for another one in a million. I also went through insane amounts of emotional crap in my past relationships. My bf knows how to communicate, is not afraid to cry and does not have to “withdraw” to “regain his masculinity”. What’s that all about? And so over men calling women crazy when they are even more emotional than us. They just deal with it differently. I’m over it. So glad I found a guy who can talk and not flee from any disagreements we may have.

[–]Inspection-Critical 20 points21 points22 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Even if all men stop finding us attractive on our 30th birthdays

Don't give us hope lol.

[–]CandidKick 158 points159 points160 points 5 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

Same and same. Single women, in general, are happier. They only realize this when they get married.

[–]cmil7731FDS Newbie 41 points42 points43 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yup. 100%. I didn’t realise until I was married, exactly as you said.

Therefore I’m now divorced and thriving.

[–]IgetUsernameScrapsFDS Newbie 35 points36 points37 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Oi I’m married and SO jealous of single women. And I don’t mean “single” just so I can cycle through men (that’s what men think). I want to be single so I have time to do my own thing without being interrupted babysitting a grown man’s feelings and dealing with their unhygienic ass. And that’s most men. I want my clean things clean like I left them, damn it. 😫

[–]CandidKick 27 points28 points29 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is part of the reason married women live shorter lives. It baffles me how men can set such unrealistic standards for women while being so nasty and refusing to do anything around the house.

[–]rlcuteFDS Newbie 70 points71 points72 points 5 years ago* (10 children) | Copy Link

I was in an abusive relationship for 7 years and we lived together the entire time. Before that relationship I thought that love and relationships was something I needed to complete me as a person. That my "worth" as a person was dependent on it. That I needed to be in a relationship and I needed to have someone else love me.

As soon as I broke up with him I realised that I was much happier not being in a relationship. I was thriving and focusing on improving myself and focusing on my career. It's been 5 years now and I'm still happy being single (and I have dated a little bit).

It's to the point where I'm not at all interested in dating, because what could they bring to the table? How could they improve my life when my life is already perfect? I'm childfree so having children isn't something that could be a result of a relationship.

Whenever I date someone it's always perfect for the first 3 or so months and then they show who they truly are, and I'm sitting there like a dumbass who just wasted 3 months and energy on someone who can't bring a net positive to the table. Me doing tons of emotional work in order to achieve that net positive is not worth my time or energy, since I'm happy being single.

The potential for improving my life and happiness is small, but the potential for bringing me stress and grief is large. So it's not worth it.

And as a general note: You need to be in love with yourself before you fall in love with someone else. Relationships can never "complete" you. Only you can complete you.

Relationships are an accessory to an already perfect outfit that is perfect even without that accessory.

[–]CandidKick 37 points38 points39 points 5 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Love this. I agree.

Being surrounded by loving, supportive women has really contributed to my fulfillment in a way that men just don’t do for me. What I have noticed is that even the most HVM just don’t compare to the average woman and most men are not HVM.

[–]rlcuteFDS Newbie 28 points29 points30 points 5 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

Same here! If anything, us women should prioritise gaining close friendships with other women. It's so much more rewarding and important than any relationship with any man could ever be.

I don't care if I die single, as long as I have a group of women who will come to my farm for tea and say hello to my ducks (My farm fantasy life) and then we do some witch stuff

If you and your relationships is an outfit then you are the statement/main piece, your girlfriends are the rest of the outfit that compliments the statement piece, and your boyfriend/husband is your phone case.

[–]outgrabed-momerath 19 points20 points21 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I'll come to your duck farm, if you come visit my sheep farm! Seriously, the dream.

[–]rlcuteFDS Newbie 7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Well I want both duck and sheep so let's just share the same farm! We'll have chickens, sheep, a few cows and goats, ducks, bees, and we'll grow our own vegetables and curate our own tea and alcohol.

That's the dream right there

[–]CandidKick 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Count me in! Mini jersey cows and muscovy ducks, ftw.

[–]CandidKick 11 points12 points13 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The phone case😂

Aw. I have a fantasy farm, as well (with ducks, of course), and enough tea for two lifetimes (green tea all the way!). Maybe we all just need a farm to be ourselves, practice peace and love and invite friends over for adventures, sleepovers, and to enjoy the new addition to our loose leaf tea collection. I already have a starter set.

When you mentioned witch stuff, I immediately thought of Phoebe, Rachel and Monica performing that bad boyfriend cleansing ritual on Valentine’s Day😂

[–]rlcuteFDS Newbie 8 points9 points10 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Oh my god, imagine making your own tea!! New farm dream!

I would love to retire to a place like this. Just women and farming. Growing our own vegetables, picking berries and mushrooms in the forest, cooking and dining together, crocheting things for each other etc. Just being happy and helping each other improve and reach our potentials.

With a bi-weekly ritual to influence politics, of course.

Young women could come to us to cast a curse on their ex and we'd make them some tea and teach them how to knit. "Being able to clothe yourself is more important than having a man" one says, as another says "mhmmmm true that" as she rocks back and forth in the rocking chair whilst crocheting our latest piece: "Ducks for peace"

[–]CandidKick 7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Actually laughed out loud at ‘new farm dream’ but it is now. Ducks for peace is so adorable and I love the biweekly influence of politics😂

I wish there was a show or book like this I could watch or read. You draw up some amazing imagery.

Guess we‘ll just have to come together and pitch in for the Duck-Sheep small farm community. Imagine a place where we all enjoy, care about and appreciate one another🤭

[–]CandidKick 8 points9 points10 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Btw, I’m so sorry you went through that for 7 years. I can’t even imagine.

[–]pascalinesFDS Newbie 35 points36 points37 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I’m 29 and every year I become happier and happier. I was MISERABLE ages 18-27. I can’t wait for my 30’s.

I used to struggle with depression pretty much 15-37 and the depression was compounded by the pressure/sadness of feeling like the “best” years were spent being depressed. 38 was one of the best years of my life.🤗

[–]fg_hjFDS Newbie 27 points28 points29 points 5 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

What is it with all this “skidmarks” and “not wiping their butts”? Is it a reference to something? I see comments with it regularly.

[–]Lavender_flowFDS Apprentice 58 points59 points60 points 5 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Yeah it is OG FDS posts. There has been several posts of men who told their wives and girlfriends that wiping and or washing your butt is gay. There was an old post with pictures where a girl was dating a guy who left skidmarks in her sheets. He was just too lazy to proper wipe...... so gross

[–]Lavender_flowFDS Apprentice 36 points37 points38 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A second post was reposted of a woman who rose her husband in bed. When they were done there was a brown skidmark where his ass was..... he didn't see a problem with it

[–]rlcuteFDS Newbie 27 points28 points29 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

There was a tiktok.... a beautiful black queen. Her boyfriend had a cyst between his cheeks and he asked her to take a look at it / pop it. At first she was like hell to the no but he convinced her.

She describes it as, paraphrased, "Poop. Not "I didn't wipe properly". Poop". That she had to "dig" through the poop to get to the cyst. Yes she broke up with him.

It's pretty telling to me how poorly men's basic hygiene is when they legitimately cannot understand how women with long acrylic nails wipe their ass.

It's so scary - 30 is only about 1/3 of the way through the life expectancy of a young woman today. It is so absurd that society can write off two thirds of a life.

Listen, men don't have older women hitting on them to such an extent that they have to say " whoah, hold up, I'm only attracted to young women". It's the oldest sales tactic. "Hurry and get a man. Offer only valid for a limited time". Lol. They could simply shut the f up and date young women.

  • The female in the title is a dead giveaway.

  • Using “your age” instead of writing “men my age” without using quotation marks. See, if you’re not a degenerate man, you didn’t have to talk yourself into believing dating age appropriate people is correct.

  • Her parents don’t like her because she’s not a kid any more??? Wtf? I have never heard this sentiment in my entire life.

I remember reading in the news years ago about a woman that killed herself because she turned 30 and wasn’t married yet. Her NVM boyfriend strung her along for years. It’s sad women are raised to think this but it’s not true, they do have value.

[–]berryberrykicksFDS Apprentice 26 points27 points28 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That’s absolutely heartbreaking! I hope the boyfriend was destroyed by guilt, but I wouldn’t count on it.

When people die at a young age, it’s tragic because so much of the wonderful parts of life happen when we’re older. It’s not tragic because youth is so valuable. It’s tragic because experiencing the rest of life is so valuable.

Imagine how powerful and valuable women must be if men spend all their time trying to destroy women.

This kind of thinking is a consequence of excessive Instagram usage - my teenage sister who has been on insta since she’s been 9 has the same mindset.

There are terribly many young girls out there, believing that the only purpose of a woman is to be beautiful to serve men. She also think that sex work (sugar babying) is the best option for women and basically after 25 you should off yourself.

[–]rlcuteFDS Newbie 36 points37 points38 points 5 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah it's not only ageist, it's also saying that people who aren't conventionally attractive have no worth.

Like?

I'm in STEM. I can tell you for a fact that research doesn't care about your age or appearance. But actually, the older you are the more experience you have and therefore it is preferable to be between 30-50. In fields that are very valuable to society. Also known as "worth".

Men want women to believe that our "worth" is only tied to our attractiveness. They don't want us to believe that a career or creativity is something we should strive for. They want us to focus all of our energy and money on being attractive.

I could not give a shit if one of my clients doesn't find me attractive. I don't find them attractive either. But here's my work, now pay me. And I will use that money on buying some cute pillows and a nice bottle of rose wine.

Imagine if women acted like men? If we told them they peaked at 25 because that's when male pattern baldness start to appear? They're so outraged any time we say anything about their appearance. Fragile little beings.

Beyond sad that her worth / will to live, is in conjunction with what men ‘prefer’, breaks my heart.

All I read is a empty person, looking for validation and meaning from another human to cover up her loneliness and self worth issues. ☹️

Go to therapy. Get some hobbies, have a goal (climb a mountain, write a book/play/blog, start making more friends, travel!) , get a better job, connect with people and have some scope on how short life is & nothing being guaranteed EVER, every moment is borrowed time, so you might as well have fun and do your best.

Shit....we’re on a rock in space, let’s have some perspective.

Imagine getting to live that long and all you have is ‘what’s the point of living?! if I no longer fit a arbitrary demographic that is based in patriarchal concepts that would sooner have us want to die than not be of use to men’?

That’s it?! Just saying some truly damaging shit to people that will agree via a click of a button and you further self victimised yourself via internalised misogyny.....for what? People need to start going to therapy.

Sad to say this but I used to feed into this extreme internalized misogyny. Thank you to my LVM ex who brainwashed me with redpill garbage about women becoming less desirable after 25.

I am only 20 and in my experience, many of these men use this propaganda to scare young women into settling down with the first man that shows interest, and make all women over 25 feel worthless.

If anything, women only love life more as they get older. They know themselves better. They accumulate knowledge and experience. And let’s not forget that statistically, unmarried women are the happiest subgroup of society.

[–]rlcuteFDS Newbie 73 points74 points75 points 5 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

I'm 34 and you saying you're only 20 broke my heart. We didn't have any of that rhetoric around when I was 20, thank god.

As I turned 30 I realised that nothing bad happened. I looked the same as I did the day before. And that resulted in me not caring at all what opinions people have about me. A man doesn't find me attractive? Oh noooo... anyway.

I stopped putting up with men's bullshit. I stopped trying to be likeable. I started centering myself in my life.

Turning 30 changes you, for the better. I think anyone here who are over 30 can testify. I'm sure turning 40 is even better and I'm looking forward to it. I can also testify that I have absolutely no problem - none whatsoever - attracting men who are 21-25. None.

Men actually like women who are confident (i.e. don't care what they think) and have their life in order.

The 20s is the worst time of your life. You're too inexperienced to be able to properly lay down boundaries, and you're too insecure to not internalise men's opinions of you and to not seek their validation. And that validation is only focused on your physical appearance. The 20s is basically a decade long "I have to be attractive and likeable so men will show interest in me". How exhausting.

The 30s are more "My career is booming, I own my own house/condo, I have great friends, I take care of my health... hmmm what am I missing? Oh yes, a dog/cat. Maybe a new sofa".

I hope someone here who are in their 40s can let me know what the 40s are like, because I am very excited.

My advice to you is to PLEASE focus on your education and career, your spiritual or philosophical growth, your mental and physical health (not weight), and your friendships with other women.

THAT's what your 20s should be. It's to prepare you for the amazing 30s.

[–]relationship_redditFDS Newbie 17 points18 points19 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I love this!

I'm not 30 yet, but pretty close. You are absolutely right about everything. If you were getting attention from men before the imaginary wall (25-30), you'll still be getting attention from men, young and old, after. If you spend enough time on FDS though, you'll start to care less about male attention, because you realize how cheap it is. I don't even see random male attention as a compliment anymore, because all attention from men necessarily means is that you're good enough for them to put their wiener in. It doesn't mean they like you, think you're special, respect you, or see you as anything beyond a means to achieve orgasm. The best thing we can do is focus on making ourselves happy, and plenty of men will still be there if/when we decide we want one.

"The 20s is the worst time of your life." Yes, as far as vulnerability to scrote perspective, so true.

I'm 41 with three kids and look younger than I did in my 20s just as my mother predicted. She said once you stop giving a shit what others think, the stress levels plummet.

I'm still aware of people's skewed perceptions and can still get rattled but ultimately I consider the source and discount accordingly. I'm not rattled by what people think but what they might do stemming from their shitty mentality. I can be a junk yard dog if cornered. What's different is not that I'm less sensitive but that I trust my gut. It's so much less stressful when you don't waste time doubting your intuition. Experience at first wearies you but, if you heed it, it frees you. Fuck positive thinking. It's better to be a sunny, macabre realist.

My mother also said, "If you're old when you're young, you're young when your old." She had been very serious and a worrier from teens through twenties-- typical of very gifted, career-oriented people. Plus the stress of being the first woman on her level in every place she worked in a male dominated industry added to it.

She said she felt old and wizened by 21 just like I did. She focused on her work, married a radical feminist (he didn't call himself that but it's what my dad always was). She didn't have kids until her 40s, but by then she looked no older than my friends' mothers, except she was way more cheerful. She had let go of the bs while my friends' moms were still trapped in PickMe hell. One of my friend's mothers was a neo-hippie and posed as a choicey-choice sexual rebel but was totally libfem and lived for the male gaze (did not end well). Meanwhile my mother was a woman's woman and had devoted, equally fab friends-- some SAHMs, some professionals, but all outspoken, cheerful and funny. My mother always helped the careers of younger women. I would joke that you could drop her off in the outback with a pack of matches and a Swiss army knife and find her ten years later living in a wind powered tree house and studying herbal medicine and pottery with an uncontacted tribe.

I conclude that letting go of the bs does wonders for the complexion and fitness. A fuck-you attitude is the fountain of youth.

This is exactly what happened. I finally left after three years (yes, I was 17 when we met). FDS helped me realize what a master manipulator this narcissist and groomer was. He didn't graduate from college and was in a dead end career. Tried to get me to fail out of my top university and become a wife and mother by 25. Thank goodness I came to my senses. I'm set to graduate magna cum laude and have an amazing job set up for after graduation (and will be making more than him lol). Looking back I am absolutely disgusted. He preyed on and groomed a naive child, but I grew up and saw the reality of what he did.

It is why it disgust me how society tries to groom girls into thinking that dating older guys is so cool, because they are SO mature and it is literally an "achievement" for a young girl to date a guy or men who is older. Look how many attractive women there are in their 50s and beyond. Even if they weren’t, there is sooo much more to life than being attractive to men. Really. So much more. I am so thankful that I'm in my 30s now and I grew up without porn sickness and this ageism.

You even see it in makeup subs. There was one, recently, who was 28 and self-deprecatingly said she was on her way to becoming an old hag.

I also HATE when I'm told that I look younger than I am. No I don't. I look 34. This is what a 34 year old woman looks like.

I'm beginning to wonder if it's all projection, because these boys and young men know that they will be balding by the time they reach 30. It's also very small dick energy.

Every woman I know (all older than 30) laugh at the idea that life was supposed to end at 25. A woman's life doesn't begin until 30. After 30 we become amazing. We gain confidence. Because we've been told all our lives that after 30 we would be "old" and "unwanteable". And then we hit 30 and realise it was all a lie.

As a woman almost in their 30's, I only worried about this in my early 20's. Now I'm psyched to hit what should be a really good period in my life where my years of hard work will start coming to fruition, where I've explored myself more and can now enjoy that, I've made more friends and had more experienced and have become a better friend and partner.

And if I were still single, I wouldn't obsess about age. You're going to age (ideally) and you can't expect your partner to simply "tolerate" you after you hit 30. Any person, regardless of sex, needs to see that aging isn't something to be ashamed about. It's how you age that is important. Are you becoming a better person? Nourishing healthy, reciprocal relationships? Working hard towards your goals? Dating someone who is also of high value (or just enjoying being single)?

That's totally true. We don't want "innocent" partners so we even don't look at them and the more we age, the more we know and our limits become stronger. Men sex strategy is based in manipulation in some part, that's the explanation.

[–][deleted] 27 points28 points29 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Shit like this proves how easy it is to systematically destroy someone’s entire world, their sense of self-worth and their perceived gender value, by feeding them steady lies and manipulation for the first two decades of life. [–]TheFinalGirl_2125 points 5 years ago [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link

Lol! They are obsessed with this “wall”. An attractive woman is an attractive woman at any age. Period. I never hear attractive men who are confident and successful at dating obsessing about this. Any man who tries to put a shelf life on a woman’s sexual market value is pretty much communicating that he has none.

“Men in their late 30s/40s prefer to date younger women. That’s just how it is.”

And younger women prefer dicks that work and sperm that doesn’t have three heads. That’s just how it is. I went out with a successful “never married, no kids” guy in his 50s a couple of times. Super fit, obsessed with the gym. Wore “younger” clothes, but his face and sun-damaged skin still gave him away. He sent me an unsolicited nude mirror selfie after our second date and I wanted to vomit. Yeah, he had muscles and abs and all of that, but he looked like he was wearing someone else’s skin. And his behavior was very aggressive once he realized I wasn’t going to have sex with him.

Men do not age as gracefully as they think they do.

[–]AocwannabeFDS Newbie 19 points20 points21 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

If women prefer older men then why do so many men lie/adjust their age on dating apps? Because they know that women also have age preferences that filter them out. Yet they have the 🤡dacity to think that they look good enough for you to overlook their age. (They usually don’t.)

I once saw a chubby weekend dad who had to have been pushing 48 pop up on my Bumble feed trying to pass himself off as 37. Clowndacity is correct. Lol!

They think not being obese or wearing tight Affliction shirts and ripped jeans will throw the scent off the old man trail. And these baseball caps do them zero favors.

I used to believe the same thing as the poster when I was younger because all my life, I heard that a woman turning 30 years old meant your life was basically over.

Which is bullshit.

I'm almost 32 years old now and it feels as though I am finally living life. I'm in the best shape ever, better than when I was in my 20s. I just got a new job that I'm starting in 2 weeks that will afford me to pay my bills and have fun money. I have hobbies now that makes me happy because I'm not wasting time on dating apps. My mindset and standards towards men still need a little more work (after years of horrible conditioning) but I'm getting waaaaaaay better at blocking people who try to tear me down and manipulate me. I'm happy for the first time in a long time after years of depression, anxiety and agoraphobia.

The love I have for myself is unbeatable, unconditional, wise and beautiful. I refuse to be surrounded by those who try to poison me or that love.

There's nothing wrong with growing older. You become wiser and so much more open to life when someone, something, a toxic (mindset) isn't dragging you down. The freedom to choose and discard is something valuable I wished I learned at a young age but nevertheless, I use it all the time now.

So many dead giveaways in that post.

I like the “your age” in quotation marks. He slipped out of first person. Also, even while pretending to be a woman, he couldn’t commit to women dating their own age as a normal, healthy action. It was a fantastical idea that required quotation marks.

I will say this. The scrote author was smart enough to write about a lie that has been broadcast by men at increasingly louder and louder volumes over the years. It’s a lie that lots of woman have feared and believed for at least some of their life.

But it’s an absolute lie.

I think about the women I admire. The women I respect. The women I value. Women that I know personally and as a public figure. None of those women are under the age of 30.

Men fear the power of women. The value of women. That’s why they spend so much of their time obsessing about and destroying women.

I think there are women who believe this particular lie that men have perpetuated.

I don’t believe that this is how a woman would choose to write about it. There are too many things that give him away.

[–]teachcandFDS Newbie 13 points14 points15 points 5 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I know a lot of people think OP is a man larping as a woman, but my mother genuinely has fed me the idea that I will lose value if I'm not married by 26 (and even that is old for her, and yes I believed this). My cousin married his wife who was 34 at the time and my mother genuinely could not wrap her brain around it for the longest time.

FDS has been amazing for me and so have some of the amazing women in my life. I'm almost in my mid 20s and I used to work with this AMAZING woman who I'm still friends with in her 40s. She was and is always beaming of happiness (literally always glowing) - she has an amazing daughter, a HV husband who she had met in her 30s (which I don't envy but he was a great guy too), she has her own businesses, she's educated, she travels... she used to tell me that she would never go back to her 20s because when she hit 30 she escaped that fear of being "expired" or constantly judged and controlled.

If there any women who are still struggling with the idea that you lose value in your late 20s or at any point given your age, PLEASE fight this urge for your own sanity and well-being. Find where it comes from and the reasons why you think this way then constantly remind yourself that it is FALSE. Find what brings you joy in life and be excited about the future, where you're hopefully in a better place financially and pursuing hobbies you've wanted to try or goals you've been meaning to reach. The idea that we expire at all has been created by men to hurt and control us and we know that.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yuck! The misogyny is what’s disgusting. I really want to ask, does she honestly believe women older than THIRTY are just getting more disgusting every passing day? My mother, my grandmother, and I are all living, breathing proof that’s a lie.

[–]GabbaG0ul 10 points11 points12 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The secret is, as long as you strive to be the best you, you never actually lose value. My mom is in her 60’s. She is constantly bombarded by younger and high quality men. It never ends, just the super creepy one’s (the 14-24 seekers) start to fall off. This narrative is the patriarchy trying to manipulate you into settling down having kids to keep a man. Open your eyes. Everything you have been taught since childhood was to prepare you to be a mother and caregiver. Capitalism relies on womans’ reproduction, unpaid labor and servitude to function. Don’t fall for it!

I'm 50, and right up until 35 people where I lived (latin america) told me incessantly that I had to hurry up with having at least one kid before my time was up and I was dropped from the job market (strong belief that 35+ women are aged out of work and even that menopause happens at 35!)

Well, 35 came and went, and then everyone started teling me incessantly "you did it right!" by not having kids or anything that goes with it. While they had a family of 8 crammed inside a house made for 2, with an exhausted woman 35+ going crazy from it, working sunup to sundown to support them, I was taking leisurely walks, dozing in a hammock, and sunbathing and gardening with my time, looking pretty much the same as I did before 35.

I HAD THE LAST LAUGH, AND YOU'D BETTER BELIEVE THEY TOLD ALL THEIR DAUGHTERS AND GRANDDAUGHTERS, LOOK AT THAT GRINGA, SHE DID IT RIGHT!

I'm in my 40s and this is by far my best decade in every possible way.

I'm fitter, wiser, more money savvy, more life savvy, more educated, better dressed, more esteemed, and more expetienced.

And I have no idea if I am attractive to men because I don't really care. I am definitely more attractive than 98% of the men in my age bracket since most of them are a dumpster fire. But that logical reality doesn't really translate in the minds of many men so I don't give it much thought.

If you are living an awesome life, for yourself, you really wont care about what some arbitrary guy thinks. Men who try to scare you into believing in expiration dates are sabotaging you by encouraging you to live a one dimensional life.

[–]threddedneedleFDS Newbie 8 points9 points10 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The wall is used to scare us women under 30 to feel that our time is running out and that we have to settle down ASAP.

That was something I read on this sub (of course, where else?) and it changed my whole perspective. Elderly women often said that they enjoy life better after 40/60/retirement for whatever reasons, and I believe them. Stressing about finding a man in your twenties will most likely have us rushing into relationships/marriages with LVM's and other scrotes, and who benefits from that? The scores, duh!

Most of us aren't experiences enough to know what we want in a relationship when we're that young, so we don't know what red and green flags to look for! We don't know what qualities we really should be looking for in a man when it comes to a long lasting, happy relationship, because we (as in, most ladies in our 20's) more often than not, haven't had time to be in one! So when we are rushed like that, we often time make bad decisions, and men benefit from it. They know that they only have to behave in the first few dates or months, because most young women will think that that's what they're like all the time. If he then makes a turn for the worse then she will pick up the slacks for him.

Don't worry about getting older. It's not bad at all.

[–]c_a_t_ladyFDS Newbie 8 points9 points10 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I used to feel that way too. I thought my life would be over at 30 because that's what I had been made to believe.

I don't feel that way anymore though! I realized that the belief was irrational and internalized misogyny after discovering FDS. And I am thankful for that. 🥰

I am 18 and definitely not afraid to grow older. I am now at the age when a bunch of creepy older dudes want to fuck me because of my age. Why would I want that?

I don't want to be attractive to the people, who pretty much fetishize younger women.

If I make it to 30 and at that point, they won't prefer me anymore, then that's my reward for holding on. 💖

This makes me sad (if it's real.) The internalized misogyny is terrible. She's going to end up stuck in a dead end relationship with a horrible man living in fear of the only thing that NO ONE can change: the forward march of time. No one escapes time.

Being in my mid 40s, I can say that I'm way happier now than I was in my 20s. I had a good time but that doesn't compare to the deep contentment I have now. I feel strong in who I am; I have a home I love and great relationships with my son and my family and my friends; I have built up a career where I feel my talents are utilized and developed every day; I am creatively fulfilled and spiritually inspired. All I could ask for is a more normal social life, but I anticipate that I can work on this when the pandemic has passed.

By contrast, my lowest point was when I "had it all" in my 30s. I had a handsome, seemingly "good guy" partner, a home with him, our son, a career, etc. But after I had a kid with him, that partner basically ignored, neglected and treated me like an unpaid nanny and on-hand vagina provider. All my attempts to "communicate" and go to counseling only led to more friction because I didn't realize yet that none of that works with a covert narcissist. Eventually he was emotionally abusive -- so many horror stories -- and cheated on me. Thank God, because though it was traumatic and awful, it was my wakeup call to leave a horrible emotional situation.

The lesson? Patriarchy will never make women happy. You are asked to sacrifice so much of yourself to fit into the boxes that misogynists have made for women. You have to cut off your voice, your truth, and your inner peace to fit in -- and these are the very foundational things we need for self-actualization.

The sooner you stop trying to twist yourself into a pretzel and making yourself small, the sooner you unlock the most powerful tools to truly achieve your own version of happiness.

Edit: grammar

I don't understand why age would have anything to do with our value? We are not an object, we are all human, and live like other humans.

Do they meant like fertility? because fertility does not defined our value. Woman are not synonym of mother. Some of us never want to be a mother, some of us are born sterile, and some of us can just adopted a child.

And if we do want to consider value, I would argue our value increase over time as we educated ourselves and learn and have more experience over time.

This age/value bullshit is stupid and has not base.

This is reallly sad.. your worth shouldn’t be based on how anyone else but yourself sees you.

There’s been this uptick in woman (millennial women) posting about Gen Z (is thar who’s behind us? Lol). How they aren’t gonna take skinny jeans or side parts away or whatever.

Someone pointed out this is American woman getting scared of aging because in American “culture” your “value” as a woman goes down the older you get

Where as in other cultures older women are celebrated, your wiser, a matriarch whatever

I never thought about it this way but now after reading this I feel like it’s true.

Even if you’re happy and in a relationship, your coworkers may treat you differently. Sort of like in the office how Pam got all bummed out when Erin came in, because now Erin was the new toy to play with

I really don’t now how we change this. Like I do not.

One one hand we should teach our daughters that this isn’t true, but then I see movies where the mother daughter duo are 5yrs apparent. Where the love interest is 20yrs younger than her counterpart.

We have to just change how we see aging, and stop acting like being hot is your own worth.

Look at these dudes balding at 28. You telling me they think their self worths gone down? Nope they see dudes like Lex Luther and Jeff Bezos

It took me over three decades to finally realize that a woman’s youth is NOT everything. Growing up with mostly males in my generation, old school parents plus cultural and societal influences, it was drilled into my head that women were essentially old useless maids if they were still single by 25. I was constantly told to “hurry up and find a good man”.

I wish I had found FDS earlier. I spent so many years chasing loser men, lowering my standards more and more, staying in relationships that were going nowhere, and never taking an actual break from dating, all in the desperate race to find “the One” before I hit “the wall”.

I’m 36 now and it took me this long to realize there is no wall for women, that I am enough, and I sure as hell don’t need a man to “complete me” or make me more of a woman. My boyfriend doesn’t believe it, but if things don’t work out with him, I plan on staying single. Unless I happen to meet a HVM somehow, but its unlikely.

It’s amazing (amazingly depressing) what societal brainwashing does to women. Are you fucking kidding me? Past the age of 25? 🤣 This must have been written by a triggered scrote. Men age like milk and any trip to the grocery store can prove that...even celeb males age like shit with a fortune at their disposal to take care of themselves.

If she thinks women stop getting attention at 25 or 30, she can think again. But why does she want the attention of “creepy guys” who want PRETEENS anyway? Again, this sounds like it was written by an incel. No sane woman would want this.

Her parents don’t love her anymore because she’s an adult? Wtf? Sounds like “raised by narcissists” material and that is really sad. They didn’t ”love” her as a child either- sounds like they just wanted a cute prop. If this is real and was even written by a woman (which I seriously doubt), then she has major self esteem issues and is the perfect target for some predatory LVM.

A woman doesn’t “waste her youth” by being happy or single, or by loving herself. She wastes it by getting trapped with an LVM who sucks all the joy out of her life!

Before you diagnose yourself with depression or low self esteem, make sure you're not, in fact, just surrounded by assholes.

I agree she needs to self isolate-- from assholes. Starting with her parents. Then rebuild her social sphere from the ground up.

One of the chief tactics of abusers is committing "perspecticide." The problem for women in repairing their perspectives is that doing so requires being even more at odds with men. This is challenging since that was the original implanted fear, the core of "perspecticide."

This is 100% a wishful thinking role-play written by a man.

It also doesn’t end at 30. I see people posting as if as soon as they turn 30, their lives are over

Oh good God, how has society gotten so lost? How is it people even think and write this about themselves and others??

More reading, writing, and spending time with yourself instead of TV, movies, and "influencer" watching. Makes me sad people (no matter what side of FDS) people even entertain an idea like this.

May I challenge any ridiculous thought like this that ever comes across my mind. I'm just getting started in my amazing life and well beyond this 'age range'. Watch out world!! Here I come!!

The older I get the happier I am. You move into your own power as you age and it's glorious.

I’m pretty sure a man wrote this. Though I imagine that there are women who feel this way, unfortunately.

I glad this was shared because I sometimes feel the same especially when I have a family that continously reminds me that men will view a woman who had never married in her late 20s/30s as a whore and that I will basically won't be taken seriously because I don't have a man.

It's a low bar but I'm proud of myself and those of us here that have never thought like this or have stopped thinking like this. I hope she can find someone to help her through.

This screams troll post... it's way too dramatic (I don't know how to keep on living!) when more women are too preoccupied with real problems, especially after COVID

Just ask Michelle Pfeiffer if she's useless and if life ended for her when she was 18. Scrotes want us to think we're useless but they'd feel lucky to breathe the same air (only from a distance) as Michelle Pfeiffer.

As a 19 year old, I can only say there is magic in growing older, more expirienced, wiser, smarter. As children, we wanted to grow up and be adults who are allowed to be self-sufficient and now that we ARE adults we should want to never grow older or even wish to be teeny-young again to be appealing to disgusting pedophiles???? And do not get me started around the beauty standards around yourh and age. I already have little spaces of grey hair that is visible with certain hairstyles and I think i will just not color them + wear these hairstyles to show the world to f* off with such stupid expectations.

It's possible this was written by a man BUT I've heard similar sentiments from other actual-factual young women, if worded somewhat differently. Unfortunate PSA to all the doubters in the audience: you shouldn't underestimate how much red pill/manosphere rhetoric has filtered into general discourse. Some of the shit I hear younger Millenial and Gen Z women say/see them conform to makes it seem like they were raised by 4Chan creepers that time-traveled from 2007 for mass grooming purposes. Things that were considered OTT misogyny to be called out for older Millenials like me are now borderline normal.

I wouldn't recognize it except I went through a phase in my early 20s where I spent a lot of time reading PUA material (and arguing with it in my head). Even seeing how logically and factually flawed it all was, it soaked itself into my brain through sheer exposure and I had to grapple with some similar thoughts/concerns myself at that age as a result.

(I'm early 30s now and spoiler alert: 30s so far are indeed better than 20s, even the wheat to chaff ratio in my dating prospects is more favorable.)

So even if guys would suddenly stop being interested in me once I hit 20 years old, I am still a human being with my own life ahead of me. Your worth is not dependent on some cumbrains opinion of you, wtf.
