The only to way average guys get regular sex is if they have a girlfriend.

In comparison, women of all ages have a much easier time finding a sexual partner. There have been experiments comparing the dating profile of an average guy and a below average woman and the woman still got way more matches and dms.

I would count myself as average looking and I had sex for the first time at 27 years old; first kiss at 24 or 25 yo during my last year of university. Never got any real female attention before that. The 3-4 women I have been to bed with were also all 5-15 years older than me. I rarely match a girl my age or younger on dating apps.

It sucks that I missed out on teenage love while in high school and college sex but I never had the looks to pull it off.

I will differ here in that “average” men do “get laid” often because average men often resort to dating awful and unattractive women to secure access to sex.

We’ve all seen this.

The issue is how you define “get laid”.

Women on PPD will use the female definition which is “had sex in any way shape or form”

So, to a woman, Billy, who has weekly lackluster sex with his unenthusiastic overweight girlfriend, who doesn’t give blow jobs, that he had to date for months on end before having sex, and who will almost inevitably face a dry spell of months or years should they break up is “getting laid” just the same as that Chad who goes ass to mouth on a new thirsty girl from the club every weekend and who engages in frequent threesomes and who can get laid at will and has 4-5 hot women he can bootie call at a moment’s notice.

To women, both of these men are “getting laid” and to many women Billy is actually the “lucky” one because he gets to have a “real relationship” with his fat girlfriend whereas Chad is just living a “miserable empty life with no love or partnership.”

It’s similar to how women call themselves “single” when in reality they are just fucking Chad once or twice a month whenever the urge strikes.

The issue is, even with average men who “have sex” with one girl, they live in state of scarcity and fear and as such are miserable in their own way.

The real measure of an average man “getting laid” is like a 0-60 time for a car.

It’s how fast you can go from a ruinous break up that crushes your self esteem and facing a stretch of time with no sex and no woman to a point where you are having lots of sex and several options of women to date.

The average guys measures this period in months or years whereas a Chad measures it in days or weeks at most.

The average woman measures this period in hours.

The problem with this line of thinking is when people dissect the lives of the mysterious "average man" they zero in on single men and dating apps. Have you noticed that? In fact every time anyone says anything about relationship dynamics it always boils down to OLD and dating apps.

I don’t think they get laid as much as they would like, but how do we even determine what getting laid a “fair” amount is? Most people want a lot of things they can’t feasibly get, like a million dollars a year.

Women who want to have a lot of casual sex can do so precisely because most men want to get laid as much as possible. It’s supply and demand, so framing it as some sort of discrimination or injustice against men is always weird to me. Lesbians can’t typically get laid whenever either. The average number of sexual partners throughout life for people born after 1940 is around 10 - 11 people throughout life depending on generation and let’s not forget the big majority of people born after 1940 are still alive, so that number could edge up.

Key points:

The number will probably remain the same for the older generations and catch up (it’s 8 for those born after 1980 for now) or more likely exceed that average for younger generations.

It is an average, which means there will be extremes, such as some single partner people or even a very very small minority who go through life without ever having sex, and the other extreme where some people will be between 10-20 partners and again a small minority above 20 with a very very small minority in the 50 or 100+ range.

The great lack of understanding in people who are under 25 or even 30 and complain about never having had sex, or only having had a handful of partners is that it is absolutely normal, has been for as long as humans have existed.

Case in point, both my wife and I are in the very small extreme of 100 or more sexual partners, 90% majority of our friends are in the 5-10 partner range, we know of only 2 forever virgins, and less than a handful of friends who have had 15 to 20.

We don’t know of a single friend, relative, family etc. in our circle, anywhere the numbers we have.

Wife is a psychologist and tends to specialist in border line types, so she gets a lot of very promiscuous patients, 20+ partners is very very rare even in those borderline types.

All in all, including her patients (20 years or so, so a lot of patients), we have maybe 5 people, including us, that have had anywhere near, 100 sexual partners. All are in to swinging and open relationships. Yes that’s 2 or 3 patients plus us.

So to summarize, the average person, man or woman, gets laid a lot less, unless married or partnered, than the cave dwellers believe.

Married people average 1 or 2 per week, more when it’s new and their younger, less when the marriage is old and the couple older.

In fact people who have sex more than once or twice a week, and this includes younger people. Is probably a lot more rare than people believe.

I'm in a particularly good position to answer this question. The short answer is that average guys can get laid but it takes a lot more work. I'm very tall (6'4") and my face is decent. Unfortunately I've struggled with my weight since I was a child (I was over 100 lbs in the 1st grade, 230 lbs in the 7th grade). When I've managed to get relatively lean (i.e. under 230 lbs at my adult height) finding women has been easy. When my weight creeps back up it gets progressively harder. I'm not talking reality TV fat -- just ordinary dad bod soft. At 280+ lbs I was obviously still very tall but was an otherwise very average somewhat soft but still strong looking guy. I still managed to find women to have sex with but it was much much harder than when I was 50 pounds lighter with a swimmer like body.

Quantity vs quality. Men, when they do find a true match, are usually overjoyed and much more compatible with that woman. Women, when they find a match, are most likely to be matched with someone that won't end up being a truly positive long term relationship partner. They're much more likely to be matched with someone that's bad for them. Pickier women / women with experience tend to weed these guys out better than average women that have to go through a bunch of failed poor relationships before they become wise enough to be pickier. Some women never learn this skill.

Average dudes globally are doing fine. Average dudes in specific countries may not be doing fine. More specifically, average dudes in certain dating markets might be getting genuinely "priced out of" forming genuine matches purely online with women in their looksmatch/careermatch. At least until they hit their 30s, when those women finally wise up and go "oh yeah that dude that's super reliable and cute but not a douchebag might actually be the one for me.." I think sadly what you are saying is true, seems like statistics and observation support it. The top men dont need to pay in terms of effort, time, energy, money, or attention. Whereas the average guy either doesn't get much, or has to pay a steep cost in terms of those variables (with marriage being the most expensive in todays world considering the divorce rate). I see relationships as a strategy that is essentially paying for sex in a sense, because its sort of promising future provisioning as well as current provisioning (not just money but in terms of effort and attention).

Ill tell a bit about myself, I am probably dipping my toes in the top 5 percent, but I cant quite compete with a true gigachad or rockstar. However I struggle even on dating apps. But I get laid frequently by going to bars and night clubs. This takes a certain understanding of how to behave though, as well as being tall and above average looking. I used to get laid alot on dating apps, but now its almost impossible. And I dont want to do dating. I see dating these days as a waste of time and money. Lots of women are using guys for free meals, and there is so much ghosting because they can just find another guy on an app the next day. Most men cant compete with lets say, an NBA or NFL dude rolling money and throwing private parties. And this is the kinda thing that hot women can get into using social media.

What I am personally wondering is if I should do day game.. or just stick to night game. I have a few problems with day game. One is that it takes more effort, and usually I think still involves having to go on a date, whereas night game can be instant gratification. Yet probably the higher quality women are more available in day game environments. The other thing is I find it a bit uncomfortable to approach women in the daytime (night game they give signals or often come to me)... but in the day time its almost like I am violating an unwritten rule and being a big creepy walking up an saying hi. This might just be in my head though and something I need to get past.

Anyway summing up, I do agree we now live in a world where most men by and large cant get sex without paying some form of cost. On some level it has always been that way, except that the cost and reward were much more reasonable. The solutions for the average man is either A) Dont care, B) Improve yourself alot and see what happens years later C) Go to a different country, typically something like south east asia or south america.

I would also add, dont make sex equate happiness. Aim for loving yourself and having good friends as a base. And understand that this is a real thing going on, and not to feel like your not good enough when you certainly are. =)

I feel like the popularity and growing financial success of OnlyFans proves that most men aren't getting laid regularly at the very least. OnlyFans can only prosper in a society where most men are starved for affection and sex. You have to be down bad to have a monthly subscription to glorified porn when porn is freely available just because you think having a parasocial relationship with a woman who would never look your way is somehow more fulfilling.

The same goes for the growing popularity of AI girlfriends which is causing some people to freak out. Again, there is no need for this if the average man can get laid easily.

I would say im average. Aged 28. 5 foot 6. Baby face. Skinny fat build. Not super masculine. Not especially funny or charismatic. I have had 5 long term relationships. Have slept with about 12 women total, ranging in attractiveness. I have also turned down roughly as many women of similar attractiveness who explicitly wanted sex. In my experience, it comes down to confidence, the way you present yourself, the way you show up as your best self and a bit of luck in terms of going to parties and environments where this would be more likely to happen. Living at college was the year i turned down all those women. But thats college.

I have a theory that this entire debate is specifically a Western phenomenon. In the Asian countries, in the Middle Eastern countries, in the African countries, the focus isn't on sex where anyone is desperate for it to the point of loneliness, and even places like Japan which are fully developed, there isn't a loneliness-caused-by-lack-of-sex crisis. It's an opposite crisis, a sex-averse crisis. And in places like Mexico or Central America where machismo is the dominant ideology, there is a rape and male to female violence crisis. What are we doing wrong in Western society where women's sexual freedom is so force-fed and encouraged, and men's desperation for a piece of it creates mental wellness problems?

The whole thing is so perverse. Not trying to shit on op. Just musing. It feels so unnecessary and manufactured the way we train both sexes to hold sex in such high important. And it IS social training.

The sad reallity is that it makes no difference if you pay for the food, farm it or hunt for it. All will cost you time and around the same amount of money.

Paying for hookers is cheap. You already get a young good looking girl for 80 bucks.

Being together with a women is a lifestyle, relationships with women are expensive and the sexual average in a long term relationship is only 1 time a week. Having a wife will cost you almost half you’re monthly wage, that like a 1000 bucks a month on average.

Conclusion: if you sleep with hookers 2 times a week you will get laid 8 times a month and lose 800 bucks.

If you are married with kids this life will cost you around 800 to 1200 bucks a month and you might get laid 4 to 6 times a month at best.

If you are a playboy/short term relationship guy this lifestyle will cost you 500 to 800 bucks on average and you might get laid 3 to 5 times a month.

It all don’t make any difference what you do to get laid, at the end it will all cost you the same.

I done it all. Playboy life, being married, just paying for girls and it all cost me the same amount of money on average a month. All women are leeches. The hookers, the wives and the girlfriends. There no such thing as a free lunch.
