I can understand some sentiments women express—such as feeling undervalued or reduced to their bodies. However, the perception that "most men are unattractive or below average" is an enigma to me.

From a purely statistical perspective, most people, men or women, are probably best described as average or unremarkable, physically speaking. I mean most of us aint Brad Pitt or Megan Fox, so its fair.

Where, then, does this perception come from? Are there cultural, social, or personal factors that contribute to this idea?
