I keep seeing this sentiment "getting into a relationship won't fix you". People will diagnose single guys as too unaccomplished, mentally ill, insecure etc so 'they have no business being in a relationship' and 'a relationship won't fix them' so they shouldn't even look for a relationship.

But actually, a good relationship is really good for you. Receiving love, hugs, affection and sex is really good for your health. Having a loving partner boosts your self esteem, motivation, mental health etc tremendously. Far more so than having a therapist, in my opinion, as the therapist only pretends to care about you because he gets paid to do so. There are many cases where people reported that their partner helped them tremendously or even saved them. For pretty much everyone who's in a healthy relationship, taking their partner away would make them tremendously sad and depressed. Telling someone who's sad over losing their partner to just 'learn to be happy alone' would be tremendously insensitive. Likewise someone who can't find a partner will start feeling unlovable and thus become sad and depressed. This is a natural human reaction, and not a sign of 'insecurity' or 'mental illness'.

So what does telling someone that 'they have no business looking for a relationship' or 'a relationship shouldn't be of concern to you' accomplish? Not much really. Yes, they should always be looking to improve and fix any mental or other problems they have. Still, being told that you can't have a relationship is just a kick in the nuts. If someone is very much down and out, struggling for years and losing hope, hearing another confirmation that they are unlovable and that they can't even look forward to finding a loving partner (something that easily happens for horrible but wildly confident men). I absolutely would have blown my brains out if I someone had told me that shit when I was at my worst.
