Well having to deal with some shallow people of the opposite gender wouldn’t be just a male problem, so many women get dumped or cheated on the moment they gain weight, they get older, they get sick, etc. and can’t provide “bangmaid” services to their partners anymore. And no, “loving” someone exclusively for their looks is not less shallow than loving someone for their money. Both can easily disappear one day, it literally just takes a bad financial decision (money) or a random accident (looks). You should just avoid people like that.

I’ve also seen many women say they have no problem paying for themselves, because they don’t want any man to feel entitled to their bodies just because they paid for their food. I highly doubt it’s difficult to find women like that, but of course if you want an independent woman when it comes to finances/someone that splits the bill, don’t expect her to go back to the 1800s when it comes to things like house chores.

Being a working mom is extremely difficult after giving birth. I see my coworkers having to pump while they are already super busy and I never want to go through that.

Once you meet someone you truly love, all the materialistic stuff doesn't matter. I never dated for 25 years because I was willing to wait for someone I really bonded with emotionally and intellectually. This is a testament to how much I value who she is as a person. Before we met, we both didn't care about hooking up or sex. We both talk about how we were asexual too.

The genders are primally attracted to different things (and sometimes the same things). We also like to feel that a relationship provides us advantage over staying single, though we may all calculate that somewhat differently. I believe real love is something emergent. It typically takes time. But it usually requires the above conditions to survive; thus, it tends to die when the underlying conditions shift the wrong way.

Our culture overglorifies the raw hormonal and primal attraction feelings as love, but they are just fertile soil for love, not love itself. So yes, a woman can love her man, but for that love to somewhat require him to stay useful and attractive. Similarly, if a woman lets herself go, the man will often fall out of love in time. But this doesn't mean there wasn't real love. Of course, there is still mystery in all of this. We haven't got it all figured out by any means.

IMO ~~what a guy can provide~~ a guy's financial position is an integral part of who/what a guy is. Period.

A while ago I was reading a personal finance article, and the article stated that the #1 most I'm important financial decision in life is the spouse that we choose.

But wait, there's more! What is good for the goose is good for the gander! A woman's financial situation is just as important for the guy to make a decision about their future together.

I am now happily married, but when I was single, if I was meeting someone within the context of traditional dating, I wanted a woman who:

Educated in STEM/Business
Career woman
Financially stable

Of course, I am also overeducated in STEM/Business, with a decent career, and financially stable.

And... I found her, who checked all those boxes, other boxes that I had, and a lot more.

Have you actually been on first dates or are you getting this from movies? First dates being a sit down dinner isn't actually the rule of law, or even that common. Most people don't want to commit that sort of time/be locked in if things aren't vibing. Most people meet for coffee/ice cream/beers if food is involved. Many women go dutch as their own rule.

I keep bags with hygiene items and a few dollars in them to give to homeless people. I make large portions of food to give bring to potlucks or treat friends/coworkers/classmates. I'd be willing to cover someone's grocery bill if they didn't have enough. Unless you're in poverty (and even then!) a few dollars is nothing and something people freely spend on others often.

Every country where women achieved equality with men has experienced a complete demographic nosedive.

If economic, educational, legal, and occupational parity with men is all it takes to kill any desire or motivation for women to partner with men, this is proof that women have no natural biological instinct to be attracted to men. True love is choosing someone when the transaction within the relationship isn't beneficial for you. That's true for men and women. If the transaction makes sense and you're getting a fair exchange of value or better, you can't be sure it's love. This is where spirituality comes in. Do you have faith in the other person despite the current circumstances?

The greatest opportunity for a man to feel a woman's love is when he is young and unproven. In that scenario, it makes more sense for her to find someone who is more established. Her choice of him isn't optimal, there's an irrational faith in that particular man.

The greatesy opportunity for a woman to feel a man's love is when they've grown older together and he can easily abandon her for a younger woman.

Most relationships are transactional. Women are more transactional about it than men typically. Society definitely conditions us to be on the lookout for the best deal. It's possible to find true love but it may be inversely correlated with dating success.

The more attractive your external characteristics are, like your wealth for men or your beauty for women, the less sure you are they would choose you outside of that transaction. So when a man is in his mid-30s and finally has great career success, he should be most skeptical of the sudden influx in female attention. When a woman is in her early 20s and has massive male attention, she should be most skeptical.

The issue is that dating success, ease of parsing the transaction, and true love are all at odds with each other. This makes it incredibly complicated. Your best shot at true love may be when it's extremely hard to get any relationship at all paradoxically, whereas you may be least likely to find it when you are most popular.

All relationships are about providing mutual benefit to each other. Or at least in the perception of it of the people in those relationships, because people can also be stuck in relationships that are objectively bad for them.

Everyone is constantly providing value to the people that associate with them, whether financial, emotional, physical, etc. By framing conversations around providing being superficial and contrasting it with a non-existent image of unconditional love, you end up perceiving the world as far more cruel than it actually is.

There is no sense of self outside of the things one provides to others and themselves. It's not possible to genuinely like someone outside of what they provide, because you like them for a reason and that reason is usually them providing you with something, even if it's just a cookie at 5 am after you had a nightmare. You are what you do, and others are what they do.

It would be far more productive to focus on two different angles:

1) There are cruel, parasitic, and selfish women out there who don't want mutual benefit. The problem is that they are a minority and this doesn't support your narrative. Still worth talking about just like it is worth talking about toxic men.

2)There is a general agency bias towards men in society. This is a systemic problem not limited to one gender. People in general respond to male suffering in cruel and unempathic ways far too often.

There are both sides that demanding much more then they give. Its just one side gets much more shame for it then the other side.

And I think in the world where everyone keeps talking about equality and fairness. Its easy to say people don't deserve anything they not willing to give someone else.

Just like i know a bunch of men and women that have cheated on there partners in the past often a bunch of times with different partners. I don't think those people deserving of loyalty cause they have proved that that incapable off it. But people like to say I deserve this is deserve that. What what race or gender your born does not matter it makes you not more valuable or worthy of more then your willing to give or invest or put effort in someone else they will put in you.

The more you demand things the less you deserving of set thing. People often forget of both are not gaining from each other. End of they day your a liability and you will end up alone. Thats the case for both and all sides. Just one like to sell them a fairytale to pull away all responsibilities and burden of trying. This entire post is just one long woe-is-me complaint about how women don’t like men for who they are, yet the author fails to ask the most important question:

What exactly are you offering beyond financial provision?

Because let’s be real—women don’t need men for money anymore. Thanks to birth control, bank accounts, feminism, and suffragettes, women today can work, own property, and build their own lives. At the end of the day, posts like this expose the real issue: You see women as vending machines for sex. Put in “niceness” or “provision,” and sex MUST come out. That’s not how relationships work. That’s not how people work. You’re not entitled to romantic or sexual attention just because you paid for dinner.

If you want to be valued for more than money? Then offer more than money. Have hobbies, develop your personality, be someone women actually want to be around—not just someone who expects sex in exchange for footing the bill.

Honestly, if you think all women are like this, it’s not that women are the problem—it’s that you keep attracting the same kind of shallow dynamic. Maybe rethink what kind of energy you’re putting out there.

And if your grand solution is “just leave women alone” and be single? Cool. Do that. But don’t act like it’s some big enlightened decision when it’s really just bitterness that women won’t date you by default.
