I’m not being facetious, I want to genuinely hear what the average woman’s earnest reaction would be in this situation. I think this is one of the clearest examples of one of many double standards in today’s dating world. Women are able to be blatantly open about why they’re rejecting you, and are often even celebrated for their honesty.

But I truly believe if a girl approached a guy first and asked him on coffee or whatever, and the guy, genuinely seeming nice with no bad intentions told her upfront “you seem like a nice person, you’re just slightly too overweight for me personally” a lot of them would go home in their bedroom and cry. Men are expected to tiptoe around women’s feelings in western society while women are allowed to critique men directly without even thinking twice about it. This is just one example of many.

Edit: It seems like the point Im trying to make is being lost in translation. I’m saying it’s very very common for women to reject men and tell him directly that he’s too short for her… this happens all the time. whereas if a guy told a girl shes too overweight for him, he looks like a complete asshole. Either all of it’s okay, and we should all be encouraged to be brutally honest or none of it’s okay.
