I heard these same sentiments 10 years ago and yet here we are. There won't be a breaking point due to the sexual marketplace. The breaking point will come when an event like a natural disaster or economic meltdown destabilizes our society, and creates a political crisis. That's how collapses happen, at least have that's how they've happened historically.

Divorce rates are not sky high. They're about the same as they always were. And that's not a bad thing if divorce means breaking up a toxic relationship. Sometimes divorce is for the better.

Men are lonelier than ever because their hobbies involve internet and video games. There are more social hobbies out there.

Women aren't taking the archetypal roles of men. Men took those roles because historically they were the only humans allowed to take them.

Women aren't finding the partners that they want but on the other hand they seem to find ways to be happy while single. Single men should take notes.

It all comes down to this: the game has changed. In the past, women needed men and needed to be in relationships because the laws and rules of the time made it very difficult to go without a man.

Now, men are optional, which means men need to find ways to bring value to their partners lives. Just showing up isn't good enough anymore. Men have to be better.

We are still in a transition period from one society to another. So you will get men who are playing the game the old way and losing. That's not society's fault. Society will change the way it wants to. It's the players that have to adapt and get better.

Things tend to bend rather than break.

Men will start picking up their own socks more. Young women will save and invest more so that they can afford to either go volcel, become a single mother or accept a less financially successful man if necessary and thus have a wider range of choices. Young men will become more wary about the dangers to their social development of adopting a lifestyle that comprises mainly gaming and porn. People will become more cynical about digital images and also about what algorithms offer to them. New ways of meeting online will emerge...who knows what those ways will be...I've got a few ideas but eh I'm not giving anything potentially money making away for free.

I'm curious to see if single men on a large scale will try to separate their lives from society, I think it would be cool for guys who are single to push towards not having their taxes go to school since personally if I don't have kids why should I pay for a service I'm never going to use. If enough guys come to the same conclusion as me and become more vocal I think some friction could be created, I don't think we would have the voting power since married men and women would be against us but than we can always move or find other ways to not pay into the system.

There's no other solution to make lonely men who don't want to evolve with the times less lonely without somehow forcing women to be with them, which is a clear human rights violation.

Asking women to just give up their freedom and agency and time to leave the work force to be mothers and homemakers is not realistic, unless, again, it's due to human rights violations.

I don't think there will be a breaking point. Much of it is that women want more out of life than to serve everyone around them above themselves and I think society needs to get on board. If it comes down to government policy taking away liberties from women (which is already happening but not to such a degree that I see a revolt yet) if it becomes extreme enough there will be a revolution and likely a lot of women committing suicide en lieu of being forced into a life they don't want.

I also don't think divorce rates matter nearly as much as children who are produced from relationships having positive male and female role models to learn from.

I can understand why being lonely would feel like oppression to a degree, but no one is simply going to love you and take care of you because you are lonely.

I also think men could afford to be more discerning about possible life partners, as in not assuming every woman of fertile age wants marriage or kids or to be led by a man. (Again, not saying all men feel this way, but many men do and will shame women for not wanting those things) A woman who sees you as choosing her because you want her, not because she's what you can get is going to be much more stable. No one wants to be the one someone settled for. They want to be chosen because they are loved and adored and appreciated regardless of gender.

That debt is funded with 5 yr avg duration bonds. Interest rates just hit 5% this month. If rates hold for 5 years, I expect the system to start crashing shortly after.

I think the breaking point will occur with advances in the cost, accessibility, and availability of egg freezing and stuff. Women are naturally insanely picky but the fear of fertility often guides women towards more realistic standards for men. Without that, women are free to be forever unrealistic.

Another breaking point may occur with CRISPR gene editing. Every woman that can afford it will try to ensure their boys are 6’3” testosterone factories. This may cause people to start realizing how unrealistic women’s physical standards are for men and push for more healthy standards and acceptance.

Another breaking point may occur with realistic sex robots. If men can have insanely hot, realistic sex androids in their closet they might choose to just be single.

THere won't be a breaking point. Most men are too passive, in a stupor, or just too stupid and naive to see what's going on beneath their feet.

There will continue to be a "decline", more western women are going to be "masculinized" taking over and more self directing their lives.

In essence they will be living the more "manly" life, making bank either with their brains (higher education and certificates, cushy high paying jobs) or their bodies (Onlyfans, porn in their youth, than investing it in assets), or both (leveraging their hot bodies/virginity to the highest payer, than funding education/investments).

Because of this, a clever and sharp woman will ALWAYS be financially, emotionally, mentally more developed than her similar aged male peer.

This will further drive the divide between men and women in the same age cohort. And the effects compound as they grow older, women would have invested in herself (buying a property/education/etc) while a poor/middle class man of the same age will be starting "late" (graduating late/interning/making money later in life comparatively).

The only legitimate pathways I'm seeing are men getting a fast start financially with the help of family to secure a real estate empire ( ala Stephen Graham), skipping college and jumping into high paying blue collar work then investing (the trades/learning about the markets), becoming a "content creator" which is the modern day version of being a popular DJ (ala any decent content creator who are niche, respected and informed in POPULAR(to women) topics) or doing sex work ... which 99% means doing gay for pay to help fund the seed money in order to try to hit a homerun with options/fund a more thriving lifestyle ( ala Kai Greene ).

Nothing fundamental in society will change until the society is forcibly changed by revolution/takeover/society wide reorganization.

If anything, it will collapse economically, due to the low birth rate. But the birth rate is too low in every developed country in the world. And even a low birth rate and population extinction do not necessarily mean collapse. Rather, that older people will increasingly be advised to commit suicide (euthanasia), as it sometimes happens in Japan.

Women are better at caregiving, so who knows, maybe we'll even see selective abortions when single and successful women want to keep a girl rather than a boy.

Even if most women will be single and most men single, so what? Even if men are uneducated and poorer than women and don't participate much in the economy, so what? Yes, people won't have children and society will die out, but society can die like this for another 100 years and then technologies like artificial wombs may solve it.

And the US is not in much danger of being invaded by another country that would conquer it. Moreover, there will be enough poor and uneducated men who will be sent to war and their death will not be too sad for society. And even if 50% of these men died in such a war, nothing terrible would still happen, it would just increase the value of the surviving men a little.

Of those who are doing well and are active economically, 80% can easily be women. On Tinder, they can always find a man for sex if they are interested, and that man may well be poor and uneducated. The average lifespan is about 5 years longer for women than men in the U.S., but it can easily be 11 years, as in some former Soviet countries. If the men in the US are going to resign, they have a lot to lose and they can be in decline for another 100 or 200 years and society still won't collapse.

My predictions:

Political: Lonely men become an important "voting group" such as in the past with feminist women who wanted equality.This is already happening in South Korea. The main way this will be done is by adhering to an anti-feminist agenda and talking a lot about "men's issues".This will unite a lot of lonely men, in the sense that they won't care whether the political leader is economically left wing or right wing. Could see it swinging elections/coalitions in many countries.
Economically: more and more men will not participate in the labor force anymore and much less will choose high paying jobs, since they don't have families to provide for. This will lead to lower tax revenues for states, lower consumption and worse economic conditions.
Technological: because of many men dropping out of the labor force, the need for automation will be at an all time high and countries will invest more into robotics and automation. Many billionaires will acquire their wealth this way.
Sex work: sex work will be more normalized and the industry as a whole will significantly grow. Companies catering to lonely men will also pop up, similiar to Japan.

My prediction for the united states is that the birthrate slack gets taken up by immigration, legal or otherwise and those are people from more traditional, much more conservative cultures and families. Politically they are even starting to reject the left, which has looong courted them

For the more modern and progressive men and women, they get older and realize that not having kids or a long marriage when you are elderly, really sucks and was not what it was cracked up to be but it's too late for them so all they can do is warn the next generation.

Depression and abusing anti-depressants is at an ALL time high because we took all of the structure and expectations out of society and made it a free for all. High divorce rates are among older couples. Even when based on the same time frames. They are getting married a little later in life, yes, not as many people are choosing to get married, yes, and the divorce rate is plummeting among younger generations and the happiness levels are much, much higher...these couples are staying together even though it's much easier logistically in many ways to get a divorce now than it was when their parents married.

But honestly, what is the breaking point going to be? Does this just continue until the utter collapse of society, only to be corrected when it’s rebuilt? Will we self-correct before then?

Most people, including men, are still getting dates, getting laid. Most will marry and most who want children will have children.

There is a larger percentage (though still a minority overall) of men and women who are not interested in having children, and they tend to find each other.

People still mostly lose their virginity (US) before age 17, same as 20 years ago, same as 60 years ago (only Gen X had a slightly higher virginity loss age at 18). And it rises to 90% by age 25. Most people who want to marry get married by their late twenties or by their thirties (women on average two years earlier than men).

Apps change the dynamic, but there were still options in the '60s. People would go to the dance hall and judge based on a see of mostly-strange faces who they wanted to dance with. In the '40s and earlier it was 'socials' and 'dance cards'. You put the names of those you wanted to dance with based on sometimes only their faces or a few "profile" details from a mutual friend with on a card.

It was called "courting" in decades past. And "gentleman callers" who would leave a calling card (kind of like a 'like' on a profile or a 'swipe right') at a lady's home and she might agree to come down and go on a carriage ride or some shit. These days, Bumble is one of the most popular apps, entirely predicated on the woman doing all the initiating.

In other words, the kids are alright.

i think and hope upcoming generations will see less and less differences between men and woman and can form true partnerships.

I think things are changing so fast (I'm 41, my mom grew up in a time when women either worked a professional OR were mothers) and my generation (elder millenial) and some genx were the first that had moms that could do both. And men weren't really shown how to catch up (do more shit around the house, be an equal parent).

I'm hoping this Tate stuff is a phase and that younger boys will catch up, realize men and women aren't all that different, and become true partners to women.

There's no breaking point, that's accelerationist cope. I'll make some predictions regarding relationships though:

In 200 years the nuclear family won't exist anymore. Much less local communities. Society will just be a clusterfuck of people who have relationships with others, live with some of them, and have children with some. The law will turn into a complex web to keep up with this and sort out issues like guardianship, dependency, etc.
Standards of beauty will be taboo. Actually, asserting any truth that is body-related will be rude (in the US moreso than other places). Everyone will still have preferences of course, but that'll be sort of kept hush-hush. Everything else will be dealt with as a "well, if that's what you believe and you're not bothering anyone then so be it" attitude.
Everything and more will be online. We already work online, apply to school/jobs/etc. online. Dating is mostly online for now with some pockets of people still meeting in person. But soon it will be mostly online. So will your friendships. You will not only have a LinkedIn for your professional needs and aspirations, you will need to work on your dating profile and friendship profile as well. Dating books/blogs have existed for a while, wait until you get courses on how to optimize your online presence. And I'm not talking about resume reviews.

I think that there will be a breaking point where too much men stop trying and only do the bare minimum to sustain themselves, it's not like they have a wife and kids to provide for. Once that critical mass has been reached, many goods/services they provide that we take for granted for our current standards of living will simply be too scarce or not available at all.

If society wants men to keep the world running, they better make sure they give them a reason to. As we've seen with those who are aimless, they don't need a lot to keep themselves alive. They are happy to take down everyone with them.

I don't know how the consequences of men dropping out will be dealt with. Women could work the blue collar jobs that most men do and fill in the gaps, they could also adopt more authoritarian measures and force men back on the plantation, or they could reward those that are willing to make the world go around. If society doesn't choose, men will let the ship sink, swim to shore, and watch everyone fend for themselves.

The next generation is always right behind the current one, 12 year-old girls are watching 28 year-old women talking about being alone and how great it is, and somewhere in their deep unconscious minds a decision is being made to avoid that sad looking life at any cost.

My generation before the 20-somethings now were repeatedly hit with stories about skyrocketing divorce, every man who got divorced getting own in court, getting called back into court by their ex-wife at no expense to her for more money, doing child pick-ups where the parents can't even stand to see each other, even glimpse each other... and it affected how we all thought about marriage.

I do think we'll inevitably move away from how we do things now, you can only have a crisis in masculinity and femininity for so long before you fix it, or your replacement society does.

Likely by mid-century. And not as an Incel rebellion or something like that, but likely a balkanization of the US and certain EU states. The reality of American politics is that the so-called Far Right has been entirely vindicated over the last sixty years.

Our political system has become an oligarchy that derives its legitimacy through racial hatred of Whites. Examples of this abound, but a telling case was when a mainstream conservative friend of mine kept listening to Ben Shapiro about how the Left would get clobbered in the mid-terms because - to quote Benny boy - the GOP was doing "really well with minorities."

I told him straight up that this was a fantasy, and that the result would be a washout that favored the democrats. I knew this because minorities vote against Whites, and whatever party promises to wipe out that demographic will basically always have their vote.

Come November the GOP got flattened and Biden had the best mid-term performance of any president in a generation, the last being inflated by Nine-Eleven.

My prediction is that the outright discrimination gets more and more intense as whites become a small minority. As this happens lonely young men of every race get sucked into a whirlpool of violence because they have no family to tie them down and siphon off or tamp down their impulses.

The result is a nightmare. Also, fatherless boys looking for male role models are fodder for military leaders. Sun Tzu even wrote about how a general needed to be like a father to his men for this reason. Even anti-war novels and films like All Quiet on the Western Front or Platoon frequently depict the characters seeing a father figure in a more experienced soldier.

My point is that without fathers to show them how to be productive gentlemen, boys will seek out great men and project the father figure onto them. Those men will then destroy society because they want to carve out power.

The only way to prevent this is to force the Rich to stop hogging wealth and to help men of every race become well-established and competent men.

Divorce rates have actually been on a steady decline since the start of the 21st century. I'm not sure how this myth has been perpetuated, but it's actually not true.

Furthermore, when you look around, you'll find that the majority of people are in partnerships and many of those people have children. That includes conventionally unattractive people, fat people, elderly people, disabled people...the list goes on. There's a vocal minority on forums such as this one that would lead people to believe otherwise, but it's simply untrue.

Every civilization in human history has gone through stages of growth and collapse. I don't know where we are in that cycle, but most of the points you mention have been a feature to some extent or another of every human society. There have always been lonely men and social "dropouts". The only thing that might be different about the modern western world is the role of women in the workforce.

One thing I would say about the collapse theorists is that some of them seem to think a more "traditional" society can be built atop the ashes of the current one, but they seem to take for granted that men will want that. Will the men who are "dropping out" want to assume the traditional role? It's kinda hard to tell, honestly.

It has not come out of nowhere. It came... out of two things:

1) when? The 70s...

2) WHO in and during the 70s? Gloria Steinem. She was a CIA operative who literally began the mainstream fostering of and growth of feminism.

Don't believe me about the CIA Steinem part? No problem. It's all here in the Chicago Tribune, clearly it's not even considered to be "worth" denying anymore and is therefore just taken as/accepted as FACT at this point.

Now to be fair, feminism HAS brought about SOME beneficial outcomes for women: but ultimately at a net LOSS. And why? Because the so-called "empowerment" that it sought out and AIMED for in the very beginning and has continued at different and fluctuating rates up until now has always been from a place of "competing" against men when, ultimately in reality, men and women are meant to reproduce and cooperatively raise children as the next generation.

As to when "breaking point" will be? Honestly man... it's ANYONE's guess... and again... honestly? If I had to really guess and speculate, I'd say it's a matter of how many more and how frequent mass sh00ter events crop up, which means: "breaking point" IF there is one is likely to occur much earlier in North America overall, both the US and Canada, than in England or Australia: simply by virtue of guns being, well at least relatively speaking, really REALLY difficult to acquire outside of North American Western countries.

Here in Australia, it's one HELL of a paperwork application. You can't GO into a Kmart and double click your iPhone like you're buying a foam roller/yoga mat or electric kettle. In Australia, you buy T-shirts and (imitation, meaning non authentic) wooden boomerangs at souvenir shops. In Hawaii, at least as far back as 2003 (and gun rights haven't really "shrunk" that much since...), you can find a black fully functional pistol alongside Aloha shirts. That's the difference.

Not to get TOO political here and my gun rights views are too complicated to cover ANYWAY but... in answer to your questions about when "breaking point" would occur, you're basically already AT breaking point IN the US, whereas in Australia, due to gun rights being close to nonexistent (like literally, we actually do NOT have "gun rights" here, we have gun privileges and only people who are OF fit and proper character, to name ONE criterion, are allowed to have such privilege), then really, the 1ncel phenemenon is likely to "simmer" here whereas I personally would argue strongly that in the US at least, that phenomenon is the BIGGEST reason to curb gun rights: because the only OTHER alternative is for everyone to constantly, conceal and carry which is a pretty volatile scenario just to arm yourself against a potential loose-cannon-disgruntled-self-perceived-social-outcast in your midst. Really, you'd be better of just disarming everyone and simply having no weapons around.

Here in Australia though at least, it's really just a matter of 1) take better photos for your online dating profile 2) learn better communication skills 3) practice and meet women

If someone like me with autism, ADHD and brain damage since birth can somehow do it, it's probably manageable for more people than just me...
