I get what you're saying but productivity is not a great measure of success. Plenty of people work themselves into the ground and never get whatever promotion they were after. A lot of people do it to overcompensate.

Young people across the board are becoming "lazy" because of the growing perception that hard work does not pay off and the cards are stacked against them. You're looking at a large number of people who will never own a home and potentially never even retire. What will patriarchal shaming do to "fix" these looming economic forces, I wonder?

Also bit of a nitpick here but IT is not going to be prestigious for long and if you look at the statistics, women are not showing growth in that particular field. They were for a time but this has actually dropped off.

I don't even blame them. Work for what exactly? To increase the profits for the companies that will throw you away once they don't need you? There have to be better incentives for people to keep contributing to a system. If the whole system is like "if you wanna survive, gotta work", then most men are going to logically aim for low-stress jobs that allow them to get by. On top of that, most men are also told that their problems are made up, they just need to "man up" and "nobody owes them anything". Why would you keep destroying your health in an ultra-competitive, zero-sum environment that actively tells you that your issues don't matter? Honestly, had I had the option of going NEET, I would have done it a long time ago. Sadly, I don't have that luxury.

And then marriage as an institution will end for good.

Secular marriage is already done. Is it a requirement or a duty to be in a marriage and do your best to preserve its stability? No. It has become a matter of personal choice, it doesn't really have any intrinsic value and doesn't hold the same significance as it used to.

Like here women are more productive than men but that is only because men and women complete tasks at the same rate but women get assigned more tasks overall(10% more) because they get assigned more non-promotable tasks, i.e. tasks that don't help in their career advancements. So these tasks won't be counted as part of their performance evaluation.

Prestigious career field = comfortable white collar desk job or managerial position. I notice whenever anyone campaigns that "we need more women in X" they're always talking about these fields. There are plenty of well paying and valuable career fields that women wouldn't even attempt to touch even if you could snap your finger and end patriarchy worldwide.

Women in my prestigious career field many times admitted to me that they help coworkers that are women more. At the same time men including myself help women more because it’s good for D&I results at the end of the year - being ally counts, etc. VPs literally have a metric that shows how much they help women progress through career ladder etc. Between two persons woman would be more likely to be promoted simply because it will look good on scorecards etc.

There is nothing in it for me as a man that is why I just don't care. Women do better because they're more naturally neurotic and obedient to authority, structure, schedules, and the peer pressure to perform.

As a man, it does nothing for me at all to apply myself in anything. I don't feel as neurotic as women to please my bosses, if they feel like pressuring me to do more than what they're paying me to do they can shove the job up their ass and find someone else. It's not as if I am gonna be a better man for following orders. It doesn't work that way.

Women are attracted to status and prestige in a way in which men never have been. Literally the only reason I would ever chase status or prestige was just to impress a girl or out of the hope and dream of attracting one and form a family. That is not a realistic dream or even a desirable one anymore so why are we getting all this hate over not wanting to do the sacrificing if there will be none of the reward?

Also, women chase resources out of the hope of forming a family and landing a high status man and in doing so they are eliminating themselves out of the dating pool because you all don't realize how much of your energy and time it takes to build up a life. By the time you accomplish it all the best years of your life are behind you. Youth, fertility, looks, energy, motivation, all gone or just the dregs of it.

Harping that women make better drones than men in a capitalist workforce designed to enrich the elites is not something to brag about. There is a reason we are checking out of society and it's not because society is so very welcoming or rewarding to us.

Tbh I dont think marriage as an institution will end that soon just because women will be more represented in more career fields.

I think too many (or rather the majority lol) women still value traditional gender roles and marriage with men and religion to give up on marriage especially if they want to have children and raise them with a male partner.

And, by design, tax benefits are offered to married couples and a lot of society is socially marketed toward couples and families, so theres still institutional and social advantages for women to legally marry rather than just cohabitate with men or remaining single.

I havent read the articles yet, but did read a few comments here I agreeed with that pointed out how part of why men dont want to work anymore comes down to capitalism's return to feudalism and how that bears heavily on new gens, and that now since more women are empowered, enough men feel a crisis of masculinity that they dont feel motivated to work toward since its not rewarding or easy (wife, sex, children, free domestic labor, status) to achieve that anymore.

Capitalism doesn't care about men. If women truly did more work for less pay then companies would seek to exploit that and have a competitive advantage over other companies. Over time this would be a well known fact and the market would adjust.

What women getting paid more ACTUALLY means is that the calculus of the stay at home parent is more balanced. It makes sense for the person with the higher paying job to be the one who stays in the workforce. Instead of ending marriages it just means fewer women will be stay at home mums.

I think the issue here is that the bell curve for intelligence for men is much flatter than it is for women - as in, there are a higher percentage of men who are below and above average, while women tend sit at the center of the curve. In the past women were prohibited from working so all the below average men had something on value they could bring to a relationship. Now women are climbing in traditional education and the workplace, which caters to the average and above, and the droves of below average men are pushed out. This is obviously a problem that society needs to deal with, and maybe there needs to be more education facilities that cater towards these students needs/interests, such as trades. But a lot of the bitter male voices here will be from those pushed out because the men above the curve are too busy being productive to be on Reddit. I think culture as a whole is also moving towards an idea of fatalism (‘the cards I was dealt at birth determine my life outcomes and the system is against me but helps others’), which just leads to a lot of commiserating rather than efforts to better one’s circumstances

The difference will be between men who make good partners, doing their parts of domestic work and emotional support as well as labour, And then men should want traditional relationships but still expect their Women to work.

Except people do still marry for love even if this is true. Most people don’t have a sterile, emotionless mind like the majority of this sub. Money and status doesn’t replace love, intimacy and companionship. Most people, both men and women still want their special someone.

As it turns out, robotics is exponentially harder and clunkier than llms. Robotics is limited by the constraints of the physical world - things like turning a door knob or picking up an apple are computationally very complex - and these are still problems to be solved while llms are churning out pro level writing and code.

By then , would the so called white collar jobs really have a status advantage over blue collar jobs?I don't think so.Other than the jobs that need you to talk to people (like psychologist,advocate, teacher) - they would just be normal jobs.

I think that IF this happens, women will learn to value men for things other than money. Because if the options are date a man who makes less or share a man who makes more, they'll date the guy who makes less. They will still want men for other things.

I think men are behaving worse in the US bc of economic fallout. White men especially. Theyre not guaranteed certain things. Yet they’ll argue when you describe it as “privilege.” But the fact that women are even competing in industries is freaking them out. But I think worse is that women have stepped out of dating, marriage, and children a bit. And I dont think it’s feminism. I think men revealed too much about their nature even before metoo. And the fairy tale of marriage is over. So that combined with the economic factors has gotten us where we are.

It's only a matter of time before women start dominating every single prestigious career field, just like they're dominating education.

That they're dominating education yet still barely dent STEM implies they simply can't.

At the high end men are usually better regarding the attributes relevant to STEM. Women's talents lie elsewhere. And no matter how many men go the lazy route, there will always be a few who don't, and remain atop these industries.

A big factor you’re missing Is that many women today have social pressure from previous generations of women who couldn’t work or didn’t have the same financial freedom pushing the current generation to work hard for the sake of womanhood. There is a large contingent of women who enter specific fields simply because women in the past, couldn’t, not because they are actually interested or it was their own personal dream to do so. I think this is temporary, as we’re seeing with men the same type of pressure Goes away after one or two generations and becomes more interpersonal than gendered. Men two generations ago were pushing their sons to go into an office so they didn’t have to work in a field, but now many men would gladly go back and pick up a pitchfork, and I feel the same thing will happen to women in two generations.

Bruh, I've worked in tech for almost 20 years and literally every "woman in tech" I've met could barely code and was placed due to DEI initiatives, it's such a hollow promise, every couple of years I meet a woman in tech, think that's great and she must be talented only to find out her entire team fucking hates her and has to carry her as dead weight due to being a DEI placement.

I never wanted to work, I wanted to focus on my projects and hobbies. Work was a requirement not a goal. Once I made that realization and an opportunity presented itself I jumped on it. Worked 100+ hours per week for years without a single day off.

Retired at 45 and now I ... focus on my projects and hobbies exactly like I wanted to 30 years ago when I got my first job.

Im gonna be honest: i see very little or none rewards on having good grades or on working hard. So i never wanted to study or to work a lot. I am practically 40 now, and when i was at school what i wanted was not to be the most bullied kid in my class, to have respect from my colleagues and to have some girl i found cute to be minimally attracted to me. Since grades do not give you any of these, and could even worse your situation( you can be mocked if you have really good grades too anyway) why should i care? Even today i say to my mom, say studying was never worth it and she looks disappoi ted at me. I am the one who is disappointed, she must know why i never found school interesting, even if i didnt tell her. I mean how hard it is to guess?

Women also tend to study more because for almost centuries they couldnt study, so they are now trying to make up for lost time. Plus a lot of dudes are dependable on women to have healthy self esteem while the opposite is not as necessary. That is why you see less dudes now: the effort generally doesnt compensate the reward.

lol, lmao even. Every woman that attempts to do my job ends up flaming out after a month, or having a panic attack and needing to be moved into a “less demanding role.” Women only excel in dutiful make-work fake email white collar jobs. The kind where you can have a brain that looks like this and no one really notices.

Men are failing because they’re expendable and the system is designed to lift up women. That’s it. It’s certainly not women being impressive on their own merits, because lord knows I’d love to meet even one woman that wasn’t a neurotic loser skating by on her looks and charm.

This is not what the paper say, it says that they conclude more tasks, productivity is about results. Just because your secretary make 20 copies a day it don't make her more productive than a coder that write 400 lines of code in two different activities.
