He needs a prenup to protect his assets because she makes less money and has more debt and maybe there's a potential issue here where she tries to take his money and run either in a divorce, or just in marriage where she tries to use his money to cover her own expenses because she has no money and he has some.

Now she makes more money than he does and can pay for a new, pricey car in cash, and she still wants to honor the prenup THAT HE ORIGINALLY WANTED, and again there's an issue here where she's being selfish and greedy about not wanting to share expenses because she happens to be making more & was smart with her money, while he has none, has debts, etc. When she *might need the money* (even though from what we know she never even asked for his help) he needs a prenup. When he needs the money, suddenly the prenup needs to be voided and now everyone needs to contribute finances.

Do not be blind to the double standards. I'm glad this woman could see through it all, because there are plenty of pickmeisha's out there who would just shrug and let their husband bleed their money dry too.

I'm currently in school pursuing a degree and when I broke up with him he said "After all I have done for you." Which was literally nothing. Did not help with bills. Convinced me to split dates 50/50 most of which he wanted me to go on (yes I know 🤡) . When he said that to me I realized he was really out of his damn mind. In my country a wife can ask to judge for divorce, and will be scheduled three hearings, if husband ignores all 3, judge will rule divorce. But it’s only if you don’t want to split everything. We are poor so we rarely have divorces like in usa where people fight for tiffany lamps and golf supplies.

I used to work in a very stressful career where I made about 115k/yr which is pretty decent money. One of my male coworkers had a wife who worked for CNN I think, some very high level job making close to half a million a year. God this dude was so beta. I remember around Christmas when we would talk about what we were getting people for Xmas he was just like “I’m not getting her anything because I can’t afford anything she wants”. It was just a really strange dynamic.

And I also noticed that the female higher ups, had super beta husbands and couldn’t STAND any women who were bright and actually good at their jobs. They praised the men who were absolute idiots because they weren’t threats.

I enjoyed reading this one very much. Everyone who gets married should get a very good prenup. I love how his prenup ended up protecting her from his gambling addiction. He didn’t take long to take off his mask once he saw her finances. What a loser thing to expect her to support him so he can quit working to gamble. That sounds like a recipe for a very not fun marriage.

Is she overreacting? Probably not. What he did is very petty and if her buying an expensive car with cash is all it took then if she wants more reasons to get a divorce, she should just dig a little deeper into where his money goes. She doesn’t need his signature to get a divorce. A visit in front of a judge will take care of that. He doesn’t have the right to deny her a divorce. This isn’t 1910.

I do wonder though how anyone can be married and not know what their spouse earns. Do they not pay joint taxes? I know couples can file separately. But having been married it’s very difficult to do anything financial without either knowing what your spouses finances are or needing to know. Are their credit reports separate too? Marriage creates so many instant legal ties to each other’s money that it would be hard to avoid.
