I’ll be specific. I’ll see a post where someone clearly says “My husband…” and all the comments are like “your partner”

Edit: stop bringing up alternative genders, I’m talking about straight people who do this. It’s pretty simple to just use the right term.

She said husband. Why are you using partner instead of husband.

Also why is partner even an acceptable term instead of just saying boyfriend/girlfriend; husband/wife? Even if you’re trying to be “gender neutral” or whatever a partner is someone you work with. Not someone you’re romantically involved with.

I never ever grew up with this term being a thing (I’m 31) and it seems to have taken over now. It’s being used more than spousal terms and I don’t care for it.
