Loyalty is possible because 1) not every woman is hypergamous, and 2) even if she is a hypergamous woman she will be in control of herself because she isn't 6 years old.

Hypergamy is essentially women tending to marry across and up the socioeconomic hierarchy. Of course historically you really only got one kick at the can.

Hypergamy in the modern day is demonstrated by women that date through there 'best years' basically because they say that they haven't found the right one yet. Which I think can be translated into "none of these guys have been good enough to marry."

Women that tend to waste their best years and then end up in their mid-30s screaming where have all the good men gone are not only hypergamous but they're entitled and impulsive and don't really think long-term until it's too late.

And then there's the women that have babies with one or more of these men but yet still don't think they're good enough to marry/commit to. It's like, yikes, he's good enough to I have children with but not to marry? Wow. I mean that kind of says a lot about how she prioritizes herself verses her children.

It's like "yeah I'll have kids with that loser but I'd never marry him" so he's not good enough for her but he's good enough for the kids? Pretty weird stuff if you think about it.

But your scenario of a hot guy at the bar is really only perceived as a good opportunity by highly promiscuous and impulsive women. I don't believe humans are naturally monogamous. Monogamy is a social construct. The world is made of polygamous people that either force themselves to be monogamous or pursue their natural polygamous desires by cheating on their SOs, pursuing open relationships or other overt polygamous relationships. The proof for this is very simple. When you are in an exclusive relationship, do you STOP viewing other people as sexually attractive? No, you don't. You still see people that you would hook up with if you were single and given the chance.

First of all, simple personality and upbringing. Some women are moral (even if it's super rare) and will not cheat even if they stop being into you. They might (will?) still break up with you or make the relationship miserable because of it however.

If they want to have children, they can't continue trying to monkey branch into their 40s. They'll have to stop somewhere in their 30s at the latest. If the women are childless, they might decide to stay loyal to their current mate when the quality of their potential hookups decreases. I read somewhere from a local person that hypergamy is inborn, one(read women) can't really do away with it. It is what it is. When something better arrives or shows up, she will leave you. However, the writer says that you can't practice it all your life, you'll need to have checks for yourself.

I may be wrong though.

I think you’re under the assumption that sex is the most valued thing in a relationship to women. I don’t agree that it would be difficult to get caught cheating, but to play along, let’s assume every woman can go to a bar and have a fling with zero chances of getting caught. There are still tons of reasons not to do that: - she loves her partner - getting caught aside, it’s still something generally considered wrong, and would probably make her feel guilty - not worth stds, pregnancy, some stranger knowing her info or where she lives - one night stands are less meaningful to most people than sex in a committed relationship - attractive men aren’t guaranteed to be good at sex. It’s kind of a crapshoot for a lot of women to find a man that they click with sexually. - being mad at someone doesn’t necessarily translate to wanting revenge via cheating or even being horny at all. After a fight I usually want to curl up with a cup of tea by myself.

Some people cheat, that sucks. But a lot of people don’t. A lot of people just morally think it’s wrong, and that’s reason enough. But even putting morals aside, why would a woman (even after a fight) risk their loving relationship, their integrity, and their health, just for a single night that is probably gonna be disappointing anyway.

You gotta just trust the person you’re with. If they give you a reason not to trust them, then leave, and if you find yourself paranoid about cheating with no good reason, it’s probably best to be single for a bit and maybe talk to a therapist.

Because women value commitment too. Optimally, a woman locks down a good man, and sexual loyalty is the price she pays for his commitment. The loyalty you describe is not inherently desired, it's the result of mutual interest and potential consequences for breaking that trust. Humans are selfish and want what they want, when they want it, how they want it, with who they want. When they can't get it, they negotiate for how to get it, and loyalty is the associated transaction cost.

Stability is important, trust and loyal are important to Stability . A women won't risk losing a decent man who already accepted them, for higher value mzn that might not even want them. Being able to have someone you can trust and depend on is very important, smart people don't take these relationships lightly.

Well, it does. It takes self-control and discipline. Which is very lacking in many modern females since those have been accustomed to have their wishes fulfilled just because "they're worth it". They're the best consumers and thus the pandering towards them is very real in a capitalist society.

Loyalty exists if women are able to keep their hypergamic urge under control, just like it exists if males can keep their sexual urge under control. So women have to not dump their guy every time they're offered a better option later in life (which does not happen too long though), and men have to keep their dick in their pants even if they have the opportunity to fuck the maid or a waitress (which happens until rather late in life).

But in order for loyalty to happen, you need a moral code. If the only moral code in society is consumerism, then indeed, loyalty does not happen.

Hypergamy actually supports loyalty: once you are good enough the risk of her cheating is negligible.

If you were always hard working, she won't find someone richer.

If you were always active and working hard on your body, she won't find someone more fit.

If you were always working on your personality, assertiveness, dominance, masculinity and friendliness, she won't find someone cooler.

If you are living your life as you should, you will be better man at the year 5 of your relationship than you were at year 1, so hypergamy actually works in your favour.
