Men in marriages where the woman makes more money are more likely to cheat on their wives. What is driving these pressures?

Here’s the article showing that couples where women make more money have a higher rate of divorce. The interesting finding is that men who are financially dependent on women are more likely to cheat on their wives. The study reveals

Extramarital sex allows men undergoing a masculinity threat—that is not being primary breadwinners, as is culturally expected—to engage in behavior culturally associated with masculinity … For men, especially young men, the dominant definition of masculinity is scripted in terms of sexual virility and conquest, particularly with respect to multiple sex partners. Thus, engaging in infidelity may be a way of reestablishing threatened masculinity. Simultaneously, infidelity allows threatened men to distance themselves from, and perhaps punish, their higher earning spouses.

Is that the real reason? Or is there other reasons, like that men who don’t work have more free time, and thus more time to have an affair. Or that women who work a lot tend to be more stressed out and not want to have sex, which causes the man to look elsewhere. Or something else entirely?
